Xizor_Racer Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 Well here I am back once again. I have taken some of the advice offered up from my Phoenix Park project and been working on Countrytime park. I am very early on in this one so hopefully I can incorporate everyone's thoguhts into this park on the fly. I have based this park off of a contest layout that "the ghost" had sent me. so here goes.......... +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Countrytime Park A small town in Indiana has decided to be proactive in bringing jobs and economic developement to the area. With the backing of the state they have set out on what will be the largest Parks Dept. project in the history of the state, Countrytime Park. They are hoping the economic impact on the region will help to revive a five county area. Early constuction work has consisted of Guest Relations, Restroom facilities, Papa Leone's Pizza, and a First-Aid Station. The first rides to come online are a Scrambler, Twin Ferris Wheels, a Carousel and a kiddie Coaster. The major ride prject early on is the Wooden coaster "Rolling Thunder". Enjoy!!!! Beginning overview Papa Leone's lower, The Drink Station upper corner. Papa Leone's Pizza Upper, Guest Relations Lower Overview
Mochtroid Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 Not much to see. Your architecture is okay, but it overindexes on standard colors.

Xizor_Racer Posted March 27, 2009 Author Posted March 27, 2009 Yes I do tend to over use one color, I have to get better at that. Thanks!
Xizor_Racer Posted March 27, 2009 Author Posted March 27, 2009 Rolling Thunder.................... The stats
netdvn Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 The scenery is awesome. Much better than what I can do The woodie looks very good.
the ghost Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 MUCH BETTER! This actually looks like a really nice park now. Awesome improvement.
Xizor_Racer Posted March 27, 2009 Author Posted March 27, 2009 Thanks Guys! I am feeling much more confident in my designs.
Xizor_Racer Posted March 27, 2009 Author Posted March 27, 2009 With a sucessful opening to the public, Countrytime announces the opening of "Thrill Alley" a new section of the park. Two rides are ready for patrons, Roundout and Plunge. On the horizon will be an eatery and facilities for the Thrill Alley area of the park. Enjoy!! Xizor_Racer Posted March 29, 2009 Author Posted March 29, 2009 As promised here are shots of the new facilities and eatery, Bob's Rib Pit. The area of the park where the carousel and such are located has been named the "Country Fair" area and has added a new ride named "Sunday Drivers". There has also been two new restroom buildings added to the Country Fair area due to customer demand. Enjoy! The new Restroom Building in "Country Fair. "Sunday Drivers" antique cars. New singage for the "Country Fair" area. The terrace overlooking one of the lakes at Bob's. New restrooms and Bob's Rib pit.
Steffen_Dk Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 Wow you are adding things fast! Your building style is very good - I really like the old fashioned way you are going for. I see that you have a small trend to make a lot of room between your rides. I think that it's a shame since it ruin the overall expression of the park - if I was you, I would place the rides a little closer or at least theme the room between them. Right now it looks quite bare.
Xizor_Racer Posted March 30, 2009 Author Posted March 30, 2009 You know after looking at lots of parks from lots of different people I have been kind of torn. I have seen lots of parks with rides on top of each other and to me they look a bit cluttered. I have also seen parks with some space. For me personally I like these. Leaves more room to play around. Thanks for the comments guys!
Stoksy Posted March 30, 2009 Posted March 30, 2009 The park itself is very good, in a wierd sort of way. Much better than your previous park. Keep up the good work, I'd like to see a vekoma boomerang, or a B&M floorless next.
Xizor_Racer Posted April 1, 2009 Author Posted April 1, 2009 Ok new update here...... I'm not really keen on the Launch Tower, something just isn't working for me on it. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Countrytime Park has announced a Corporate sponsor partnership..... Country Time Lemonade. The Country time people will build Lemonade Stands throughout the park. The first one has opened near the from of the park. Thrill Alley has added a Launch Tower named Tree Jumper and a Top Spin called "The Vault" Finally a looping coaster has come along called "Black Ice" Enjoy!!! Overview Black Ice with Stats The Vault Tree Jumper Here is the first Country Time Lemonade Stand.
Xizor_Racer Posted April 2, 2009 Author Posted April 2, 2009 Another quick little update today with a new gift shope and work new work on the main thoroughfare..... Thanks and Enjoy! ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ On a sad note Bob's Rib Pit was closed by the local health department. Seems the contractor used low quality materials and mold was found throughout the building. The building has been torn down and planed for a new Bob's are underway. Current Park overview. Another shot of the thoroughfare. New main thoroughfare...... The new gift shop
Xizor_Racer Posted April 5, 2009 Author Posted April 5, 2009 OK.... here we are back with another report for Countrytime Park. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Much has been added since our last trip to Countrytime Park. A Spinning Cup ride called Country Cups has been added to the County Fair section of the park. At the end of the Main Thoroughfare the Country Tower has been added as well. A New section of the park called "Down the Lane" has opened with several rides. The first is Grand central Rail Road. Then come Purple Twist and Kart-Krazies. This visit we found out that Bob's Rib Pit had reopened just as Bob's Ribs. There was a new restraunt across from Black Ice called the Ice Palace. It has a little higher end fare but still resonably priced. Also Another Countrytime Lemonade has opened in Down the lane. Next year will be the 20th Anniversary of the park. Rumor has it a huge new Coaster is in teh works, but of course no one would confirm that just yet. The new Countrytime Lemonade at the back end of Down the Lane. The Ice Palace The new Bob's Ribs Kart-Krazies Purple Twist w/ Stats Another shot of GRand Central Rail Road Grand Central RailRoad. Country Tower. Country Cups.... a spinning cup ride
Mochtroid Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 Some complaints: The shoot-the-chutes should be made wider at the bottom to remove the double-decker track section. Your woodie's second turn is far too tight. For Black Ice, I'd add a corkscrew and less helices at the end. I see what you're trying to do at the teacups ride, but it'd be better with the Art Deco 8th square blocks. Find the download at NEDesigns.
Xizor_Racer Posted April 9, 2009 Author Posted April 9, 2009 Ok, I missed the 20th Anniversary year at Countrytime Park, but made it the following year. New to the park were coasters Shock and Awe. They are not racing, but I'm not sure if you would call them dueling either. Anyway they were pretty cool. I have heard that the park is gearing up for a major expansion and several water themed rides. I will let you know if I hear anymore. Another overview Shock and Awe overview Stats Shack and Awe entrance area
Xizor_Racer Posted April 15, 2009 Author Posted April 15, 2009 Ok, lot's of time since the last update...... But lots to see new in the park. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ As promised the park opened a new area with many water themed rides. The new area is called "River Country" and boasts six new rides. Red River Run is a water slide ride. across the way from Red River Run is Lazy Loggers, a river ride. River Country Chow is the restraun in the new area. Lots of down home country grub available here. A ride simply called "The Rapids" is next up on the new item list. Splashdown is a Water Coaster located in the new section as well. The Last of the rides in River Country is a ship ride called "Pirates". From the sound of things there is a lot coming down the road for Countrytime Park. There is new enclosed Coaster and another brand new area called "The Far East"..... ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ More updates to come soon!!!!! Enjoy!!! "Pirates" And again..... Better shot Splashdown with Stats Splashdown abd like themed restroom building "The Rapids" River Country Chow is the restraunt in the new area. Lazy Loggers Red River Run..... long shot Red River Run
netdvn Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 Excellent job on the scenery. The detail is awesome. The new water park looks great os far. The only negative I can see is that the park needs more Country Time.
Xizor_Racer Posted April 15, 2009 Author Posted April 15, 2009 Yes the Countrytime folks have been behind in getting more stands built. I think Park management is looking into this!
Xizor_Racer Posted April 16, 2009 Author Posted April 16, 2009 Here we are back with another update........ +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ As Promised a set of pics from the newest area of the park "Far East" First up is a drop tower named Oasis and next to it is the restraunt Jade Palace. Nest up you can ride an Oriental rug while riding Flying Carpet. Up next is a set of gift shops under one roof called Oriental Traders. to Close out the newest section of the park is a suspended coaster called Orient Express. The Countrytime Park management have heard form the Countrytime Lemonade folks. After some dealings with unscrupulous contractors they have promised at least three new cCountrytime Lemonade stands throughout the park includung the first ever Frozen Countrytime stand. The park has also announced a mini area called "Industrial Row" with three rides two of which will be coasters so stay tuned....... ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Enjoy!
