Great thread!

I'm not a fan of chain restaurants, either. My two favorite restaurants here in NE FL are a seafood shack and a local pizza place, run by a guy from Italy, by way of Brooklyn.

I am painfully cheap, though, and can't ever imagine spending $100 on a single meal, although the food does look amazing!

I'll go back to my quiet drooling, now.

Before we get to the answer to the question, WOULD FALAFEL EAT HERE? I'll get to some reader commentary.

Although it looks good, I don't think I'll ever eat there as if I'm at the Miracle Mile Shops I'm going to Earl of Sandwhich!!

Is that place good? It looked like it might be, but the sandwiches also looked insanely large, and since I was eating a good meal that night (which you'll see soon), I didn't want a lot of food. Maybe I'll check it out the next time I get out there.

Is that the same place as Cheeseburger in Paradise that is in Hawaii? I have eaten there in the past and it was pretty good.

I'm not sure. I believe Cheeseburger In Paradise is another chain. I've never been to Hawaii, so I'm not positive.

Glad you visited the thread. We'll have to discuss food during the Deep South trip!

Thanks for visiting! I like all sorts of places, as long as the food is somewhat original and fresh. I don't always go out for expensive meals (you'll see in the thread that I visit a variety of places), but if a place offers a quality meal, I don't mind paying. A lot of times the bill can be cut down if you don't buy a $75 bottle of wine or something similar.

Anyway, before the next Vegas update, it's time to answer the question for those playing along at home about the previous restaurant: WOULD FALAFEL EAT HERE?

YES! Like Hector guessed, chicken strips were on the menu here, so she would eat here! Thanks for playing! Next update in a minute or so...

OK, time for the next restaurant. When in Vegas, I'm always going to go out for a good steak meal. Larry had recommended a steak restaurant in the Hard Rock that I had not tried yet, but it was closed for renovations. So I decided to make a return visit to the Delmonico Steak House in the Venetian.

Like last time, the steak was excellent, the service was equally good, and again this is one of the best places to get a steak ever. Highly recommended.

And now, as always, decide for yourself, WOULD FALAFEL EAT HERE?

Delmonico is located inside the Venetian, and is an Emeril restaurant.

And for dessert, banana cream pie. This was seriously huge, so I only ate part of it. That's it for this update! Next Vegas update soon!

Steak time. I had the fillet, which is my favorite type of steak. I also had some tasty asparagus.

I started my meal with a tomato & mozzarella salad. Yum!

Yep--it's a chain by the same people who brought us Outback Steakhouse (and paid Jimmy Buffet some money, I guess).

There is something for everyone at Delmonico's. So Falafel better man the f^@k up, and eat something other than chicken strips. On second thought, I do believe that they are on the kiddie menu. Count me in for Emerils Golden Chicken cutlets of deep fried heavenly delight. Everything that man touches turns to edible gold. I say yes!

Oh, by the way Dave, that meal looked amazing! I am now drooling!

Sorry all, but the extreme awesomeness that is Falafel must remain female, as otherwise there would be dire consequences for the universe.

Now, as to the question WOULD FALAFEL EAT HERE?

NO!

It's a steak restaurant, and she does not eat steak, so no, nothing to eat there. And I don't count the kid's menu (I had no idea this place even had one. Seems like an odd place to take a kid).

Anyway, on to the next restaurant...BOUCHON!

I have had many people tell me over the years that the breakfast at Bouchon (also located in the Venetian) is "the best breakfast in Vegas". Since I managed to drag my ass out of bed before noon on Saturday, I decided to give it a try. And wow, people were not kidding! This was indeed the best breakfast I've ever had in Vegas, and might be the best breakfast ever. I will totally return here next time I'm in town, and might even try dinner too (it's a french restaurant, for those keeping track).

Photos below. And of course, WOULD FALAFEL EAT HERE?

My breakfast was waffles with bananas and walnuts. Again, easily the best waffles ever. I could not believe how good the food was here, and cannot wait to eat here again. That's it for today! Next Vegas update soon!

I started with a cheese danish. It was easily the best one I have ever had.

As always, before the next Vegas update, you must ask yourself, WOULD FALAFEL EAT HERE?

YES!

Pancakes are on the menu. And bacon. Can't forget bacon. So she'd totally eat here. Hope you're keeping score at home!

Now, today we'll take a look at THE PINK TACO! This restaurant is located inside the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. Larry recommended this place, and since I enjoy good mexican food (NOTE: TACO BELL IS NOT GOOD MEXICAN FOOD. OR GOOD. OR FOOD), I figured I'd check the place out. It turns out this place is really good. I especially liked the different salsas they had for the chips. I really recommend this place, even though you'll probably have to take a cab here, as it's a good way off the strip.

Now, as always, ask youself, WOULD FALAFEL EAT HERE?

The Pink Taco is Ice Bat approved! Visit if you get the chance. Thanks for viewing! Final Vegas update coming up soon!

No, Ice Bat, you're not getting any tacos. Go feast on the souls of the unsuspecting, or whatever you do in your spare time...

And now, how about some spicy chicken tacos? Yum! These were also really good.

I started my meal with some tortilla soup. Very tasty, and very different preparation than I have seen.

Margarita time!

The name of the place alone is awesome. The food is tasty too!

It's not that bad to walk from the Hard Rock to the strip. I was next door at, I believe, the Embassy Suites and walked almost everywhere up and down the strip (north to Stratosphere and south to the Luxor) last time I was out there (it was 106 F outside--but it's a "dry" heat).

Falafel?

Maybe yes--Would a plain cheese quesadilla with no salsa, etc. be almost equivalent to a cheese pizza?

OK, before the last Vegas update, it's time once again to ask yourself, WOULD FALAFEL EAT HERE?

NO!

Stuff here is WAY to spicy for her. She might eat the chips, but that doesn't really count.

OK, last Vegas restaurant time. After the CDS show at Treasure Island, I wanted something to eat, since I had not eaten since lunch time. But I wasn't starving, and just wanted something small (not so easy in Vegas!). I had spotted this place called Serendipity III on the strip during one of my walks, and decided to try that.

This restaurant is based on the one in NYC, and is mainly known for their giant desserts (seriously, the people across from me looked like their ice cream dessert was served in a giant dish tub), but they have food as well. I have never eaten at the NYC one, but like this place, even if the waitress was kind of odd.

Anyway, here are a few pics of my final Vegas meal, as I left at 6 AM the next morning. Enjoy! And for the final time, WOULD FALAFEL EAT HERE?

I swear there was a hot fudge sundae in this dish. Really. It was good, but nothing like the one at Cafe Hun here in Baltimore. Plus the waitress seemed annoyed that this was all I wanted, and even brought me a menu so I could try and select something "better". Um, this is all I want, bring me what I ordered, this is not some five star place where I might want your input, and no, I don't need a bucket of ice cream, thank you! Anyway, these are the last Vegas pictures! Hope you enjoyed them! Some local stuff up next...

Chicken chili! Really tasty, and a not insanely large portion, which is what I was after.

Enjoying the thread.

On Pink Taco:

A couple years ago, they opened a location here in Arizona (Scottsdale, to be specific). In a pre-opening interview the CEO of the chain (if you can call it that, as there are only two) said about the Phoenix area: "there's no good Mexican here."

Riiiiiiiight.

The place closed down a couple months ago. Good riddance!

I would have to say yes. There is nothing more plain and basic, than vanilla ice cream (Chocolate is sooo much better).

But if you can't make a good vanilla, your other flavors will probably suck.

I'm going to vote for the first time with a "yes," mainly because the "no" picture is the saddest picture of Falafel that I've ever seen.
