Volt Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 I'm about to buy my tickets but it still says that they're sold out. Do I continue with the transaction?
robbalvey Posted March 20, 2009 Author Posted March 20, 2009 ^ What? No it doesn't. I just checked. It says "add to cart." Try re-freshing your browser. Â --Robb
robbalvey Posted March 20, 2009 Author Posted March 20, 2009 I bought 4 tickets and 2 of them are extra tickets. Is there a way i can refund them or sell them? No refunds, sorry.
Mechanic Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 I just have a couple of questions that seem relevant in light of the forecast and the number of people that will be enjoying what's sure to be an awesome event: Â Will TPR hoodies be available? With the weather forecast being what it is, it may be great for hoodie sales. Honestly, I should have already bought some from the TPR store, but I'm usually more inclined to buy directly than mail order. I'd be more than happy to buy several if they're available. If not, I'll make it a point to order some from the online store and have them for future chilly days. Â Do you know if Orient Express will be open during morning ERT? I honestly can't remember if it was last year. I was just thinking it may help to steer some of the crowd to the top of the Mountain and help spread out the people a bit. Of course, I'm sure all avenues are being considered to help minimize lines. It's just a thought. Â I will do my part by steering my group away from X2 at the start of morning ERT. Â The scavenger hunt sounds like a fun addition. It's very exciting that the event is now so near. I'm looking forward to seeing and meeting many of you on Sunday. Regardless of the weather, I'm sure it will be a great time.
robbalvey Posted March 20, 2009 Author Posted March 20, 2009 Will TPR hoodies be available? With the weather forecast being what it is, it may be great for hoodie sales. If anyone would like to purchase a TPR Hoodie prior to the event we will bring it to the tables and you can even save on shipping. (Just mark trip/event payment for shipping.) Â We won't be selling extras at the event as Six Flags Magic Mountain has quite a nice compliment of hoodies and sweatshirts available for purchase also. Â Not sure about Orient, though. Â --Robb
Big Mike Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 I laugh at all of you that are saying it is going to be chilly at 50 degrees when some of us more unluckier folks would think that is very warm right now! Â If there are no hoodie sales at the event (which I do think that was a very good idea for sure), The Big Mike Road Show Kick-Off Contest has one up for grabs! Â * Edited - I see Robb's point on the hoodies! Â Â Some of my most fun trips happened in the rain, more bonding time! Â Â Peace, Big Mike
packfanlv Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 ^I was thinking the same thing about TPR merchandise and whether it will be available for purchase or not. A TPR hoodie would be a great idea given the forecast.
Volt Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 Thank you very much, Robb. I just purchased my 4 tickets, and I'm psyched to meet everyone on Sunday. See you guys there!
Sir Clinksalot Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 Regarding the weather, all it's going to do is make the park less busy during normal park hours. Which is ALWAYS a good thing.
robbalvey Posted March 20, 2009 Author Posted March 20, 2009 ^ I wouldn't be so sure. It was very busy last Sunday.
krnsngr85 Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 ^ I wouldn't be so sure. It was very busy last Sunday. Â I heard about that too. Although considering now its going to be open during the weekdays that week too. It shouldn't be too bad. Although I am going to enjoy myself and hopefully make a lot of friends at this event.
Volt Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 I really don't think that it should be TOO crowded, though. And if it is, there should be a way to avoid major crowds.
CreditCrazy Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 Because of the weather, does anyone know if SFMM will have the fire on X2 on or off?
G-Force! Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 I'm sure the fire effects would be working with the exception of maybe some windy or rainy conditions associated with this "storm" that's supposed to be coming. Either way, just riding X2 after so long will be a great feeling. The event is only a couple of days away and it'll be nice to meet some of you all.
PeoplemoverMatt Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 I should throw it out there that even a little rain can cause huge traffic messes on SoCal freeways. Even though this is on a Sunday, and registration is in the early morning, give yourselves extra time to make it to SFMM safely! Also please be sure to take great care in navigating the construction zone at I-5 & Magic Mtn. Pkwy in wet conditions!
xdisneyfan Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 the latest Santa Clarita forecast from weather.com: Sunday: Windy with showers at times. Highs in the mid 50s and lows in the upper 30s. Â (Yikes - there's a construction zone?!)
ajinaz Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 ^ After a such a long period of time it should change from "construction zone" to "special road elements."
gisco Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 Speaking of construction. Is the Magic Mountain Parkway off ramp on South I-5 still closed?
PeoplemoverMatt Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 ^ That has reopened I believe. If not, the Rye Canyon Road exit is your alternative. Also, the exit on the Northbound side I believe is still being diverted onto Tourney Road. Fear not, 2 lefts is all it takes to make it onto Magic Mountain Parkway headed straight into the park. Â There's still a great deal amount of construction going on as the entire exit, including all on & off ramps are rebuilt, and Magic Mountain Parkway itself is widened.
Sir Clinksalot Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 Question, as it's been awhile since I've been out there: Â Is the construction effecting the Old Road between the 126 and Magic Mtn. Parkway? That's the way I come from (the 126) and just wondering if I'll have any issues. Â Granted, I'll be coming with EBL, so he probably knows what the deal is.
PeoplemoverMatt Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 The 126 has been fully connected clear to Rye Canyon Road, but if you want to go The Old Road route, there aren't any closures that I'm aware of. The intersection with Magic Mtn Pkwy's been moved up the Pkwy a bit, but you won't have any problems at all noticing where to make the right turn.
SharkTums Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 My parents just came over on the 126 to Old Road to Magic Mountain Parkway last night and there were no closures. Lots of constuction so just be careful. Â The bigger issue for most people will be when leaving the park the ramp for I-5 Southbound is closed and you will need to take Old Road to Valencia Blvd and pick up the 5 there.
