What park & coaster will open your 2009 Coaster Season?

Recommended Posts

I opened my season at Great America yesterday. My first ride was Viper. It was a great day overall; nice weather and low crowds. Everything was running one train except for Raging Bull and Viper. Also, everything was open except for Vertical Velocity.

First coaster of the year and credit #99 was Batman: The Ride at Great Adventure.

Followed up by my new love and credit #100 Skull Mountain!

The aim was to have El Torro as #100, but Im happy that it turned up to be Skull Mountain.

I got 10 rides on it, and several without getting out of my seat.

Was such a good day, minor technical difficulties aside.

It was the Runaway Mine Train a Six Flags Great Adventure. I did not want it to be my first coaster of the year but I had to get my friend to ride a coaster somehow! He went on everything in the park after that (Not Kingda Ka the line was 2 hours long mostly because they were still training the Ride Operators )

Supersonic Oddysea at Cosmos World in KL, i'm going there in June.

Would rather be heading to the USA to ride Terminator but in this financial crisis, money dictates a cheaper holiday, so we're off to Malaysia instead.

Behemoth was the opener for my 2009 season, then I went on Flight Deck. Never go on that with even the most minor of headaches. I was on a timed schedule and wanted to get it in. My headache was increased by about a thousand.

I've held off posting here because it seems the plans keep changing. I am expected to go to SFGA next weekend, and my first coaster ride in TEN MONTHS (I'm dying over here!!) will be either El Toro, or Nitro. Nitro is my normal groups traditional coaster, but that was set in place prior to El Toro. I can probably sway them though! If I do not get to go to SFGA, then I will be opening my season in FL. I'm going to bet on Hulk, although I may hit Sea World up alone with my daughter just for Manta! Oh the suspense! lol

I just went to Knott's, but I'll be doing my "1st big trip of the year" starting next Saturday. I depart from Sea-Tac Airport at 8:00 PM, arrive at LAX by 10:30 PM, and hope to be doing DCA by next morning. I'll do it for 3 days and, on Wednesday, I'll have an extra day to do Knott's since it's not pretty busy during those times (based on a more recent TR from earlier this week). Thursday, I'll hit up SFMM for Terminator Media Day, ride some stuff there, and do it again on Friday. On Saturday, I'll try to get to the park to do a Terminator run and be on the plane by about 5:00 PM.

Yes, it's a VERY tight schedule, but I think it'll be fun.
