PirateTinkerbell
Hello everyone! Thanks to you guys and all your votes, I get to go to Disneyland this holiday season with my boyfriend! We're going from December 27th till January 1st and want to know what the crowds will be like. We're assuming it will be crazy on New Year's Eve but what is it like the other days? Thanks very much!! p.s.: We're waiting on the trip papers to come then we'll know for sure that we're going. When that happens I'll let everyone know in case anyone wants to get together to ride some rides!
Guest
Considering thats when almost everybody has time off, I would expect it to be extremely busy.
robbalvey
I will tell you that it should be *PACKED* but having said that, as long as you guys FastPass your way around the parks, take it easy, relax and just have fun, you should have a GREAT time!!! --Robb "Who will be thinking about you guys while we are at Disney on the other coast!" ajinaz
As Robb said, it will be packed. I have done it before during that week and as long as you are prepared to just go with the flow you should be fine. I would suggest taking an afternoon break every day. If you are at the gates when the park opens you can take a shot at a Dream Fastpass which will really come in handy. In general they hand them out in the first 20-30 minutes after the rope drop. The most popular spots for handing them out are going through the castle, in the back walkway between Fantasyland and BTMR and getting off of Pooh. Keep your eyes peeled for Castmembers in white vests and carrying messenger type bags. You can stop looking after the first hour of park opening. Have fun and grab Fastpasses every chance you get. Remember that they are good from the starting time until the park closes. They make you think they are only good for an hour window but that is just a suggestion. If you play your cards right you can be holding one for every ride by the evening time.
PirateTinkerbell
We'll definetly have to look out for those dream fastpasses! We pin trade as well so it is a great way to talk to any dream squad members We've gotten to be old pros at the busy Disneyland thing but it is always good to be ready. Big Mike
I always said to myself that there is nothing more exciting that a really hot, sexy nerd! lol Lucky Andrew! Peace, Big Mike
Top Thrill Dragster
Packed... VERY, VERY Packed. I went to the Disneyland Resort the day after Christmas in 2006 and almost all the "E" ticket rides had over 2 hour waits with most fast passes sold out by noon. Never again. PirateTinkerbell
I always said to myself that there is nothing more exciting that a really hot, sexy nerd! lol Lucky Andrew! Peace, Big Mike Haha Andrew always jokes about that and quite agrees that I'm a nerd AND I like playing video games Thinking about us... I totally forgot to post our picture from our Halloween party this year. It's slightly off topic here but what the heck The total nerd picture follows, you have a Jedi, Indiana Jones, and a guy with a wig in his pants (Andrew's best friend, Jeff). He was gonna go as a rocker but we figured the wig was MUCH better placed there lol Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Yup, total nerds
BeemerBoy
We promise a great TR when we get back!! Now that's great news! I was really happy to help you guys out by voting countless times, and even happier to hear you had won. It's nice to know you're sticking around, and even promising us a trip report following your big trip. If I recall correctly, the last time the TPR community got behind someone to help them win a Disney contest, the person (for whatever reason - and there may be many legitimate ones) won the contest, posted once or twice afterward, and then promptly disappeared. Like I said, there may be a very legitimate reason for it, but I for one felt a bit slighted after being solicited for votes. To be fair, there was a thank you, but that was basically it, and said person hasn't posted anything since. Katie, congrats to you both once again. You guys seem really deserving of this, and I hope everything goes well for you. And yeah, chalk me up as one who's looking forward to the trip report! gotdane
Christmas to New Years is basically the busiest 7 days of the year for the resort. But, if you know how to use Fastpass, you can rock both parks easily and have a great time.
Beef209
I remember about 3 years ago when I went to Disneyland and it was packed, the park had waits at least 90 min and I only got to go on 5 rides the entire day. Luckily, I went about 2 years later and It wasn't packed and I got to go on all the rides
PirateTinkerbell
Thanks again for voting so much! We really appreciate it and I'm so excited to go!! No matter how busy (or mmaaayyyybbeee not, at least I can dream ) we'll have a great time. I just being there at Christmastime will be worth it! If all I got to go on was Haunted Mansion and Small World I would be a happy camper, so no worries We're pros at fastpass so we'll be set.
