sfne2005
I figured since I took so many pictures on this very fine trip, I would share a few with you all. I will attempt to include a different view of some of the same sights and hopefully so new ones not already posted. I won't necessarily be breaking the pictures up by days of parks, but they will be in order. Fast forward to Miles being deployed into the depths of Running Man to fight the stalker Sub-Zero! Something about tombs and dead emperors....I think? This statue is only four feet tall by the way. Hello there. Young Jeff actually not being grumpy. Maybe he found comfort in finding something as old as he? Steve being all cheeky. I wish I remember what he thought was funny. Maybe the overzealous salesperson. A "captive audience" at the jade factory. Honestly, we had no choice...CAPTIVES. While enroute to the Ming Tombs (day of culture), we passed by the Olympic area. This bee the bird's nest. Yes, I meant to type bee. Same view, daylight, and just a better picture than above. View from said room. Who needs a glow worm night light when you have that? My room, which I shared with the dancing Texan Chris. I mean, look at the hallway! Look at the sign. Arrival at the posh 5-star hotel. If you don't believe me... Why does the Pacific Ocean have to be so big? Every trip need a plane photo. So here is my plane. All mine.
sfne2005
Yea, I picked a weird place to break...sorry. Awe, what the heck. Might as well leave you with a coaster pic for this segment. Through the trees and a side boob! I didn't know Miles likes pussy...cats. I don't like Disney very much. One of few pictures I took of the first boat on the log flume while in burst mode. I got soaked 5 milliseconds after this picture. I thought it was funny, but i guess you had to be there. "I wear my sunglasses on indoor coasters". Coolies. Charlies' Angels tryouts. Sad and pathetic dirty whores. We got word that there was beer, lots of beer at Shijingshan. Steve and Miles were at the front of the pack. Any german readers out there who can translate my shirt? I am tired of not knowing the answer when people ask me! The only day the battery died on my camera was THIS day. While on the wall no less. It goes on as far as the eye can see (or as far as the smog will let you). Fortunately, the rain the night before made this the best day for pictures. Here is the battleground for the Running Man sequel. Seriously, the Great Wall is awe inspiring.
TheRapidsNerd
Hey! Cool report thus far. And true, sometimes after getting hosed by a log flume (or mythical French dive machine), you can't help but laugh. Â This statue is only four feet tall by the way. Hahaha! Awesome! Looking forward to the next round.
sfne2005
Continuing on, we do a few more culture things, so bare with me coaster junkies. Close calls all around. Other than the line sucked for it. And what's with the no queueing inside? Once we got to the actual entrance, we walked right into the station. Fearful of graffiti or a way to show the people how long you will actually wait to get on. I wonder. What else can be said, really. If I rode it more, I think I would have liked it more than Air. Jeff found his brother! Guardian of the lift hills. No "third lift" on this coaster, or whole trip for that matter. I think I photographed every frisbee but didn't ride a single one. Crystal Wings. Amazing for a SUF clone. So beautiful... Or if you're sick of culture, you could do the electric slide. What's with all the dancing on this trip anyways? Let's take in a little more culture. Notice anything missing? Welcome to Islands of Adventure China. But since its not open yet.... I believe the broadcasters building, but what do I know. Just a cool area. One more, just because you all want coaster pics. Apparently very. Hey, the Aquatics Center. Let's see how close we can get. Granted, there was a large fence and armed security. But it was still worth while. After dinner, Joey and I ventured to the Olympic area despite the tour guide saying things like you can't get near the place or spectators aren't allowed. Dinner time sans factory tour at Pizza Hut. Not sure if this was posted, but was by far the most interesting choice. These were quite common in China. It's all mine, mine I say! And yea, turns out there was a credit inside. Bonus credit. Best pic ever! So, after its over, and Miles swore he heard a coaster, we do some investigating as this "ride" only took up a small room in this giant dome building. So Steve, Miles and I check out this huge building to find one of those dark room audio spooky things....which was just OK. Just an example of the rct excessive themeing on the family coaster. This is even smaller than a wacky worm. Quality repairs on the spinning coaster. Isn't everything? And it's Chiner! Sun Park. Big place. This is where you buy said pearls. We head to dinner after Beijing Park, and you guessed it, a factory tour. And no, the oyster wasn't on the menu. Look at all the pearls though. This reminds me of the G4 commercial where the unicorn vomits electronics on the guys and they say it smells like plastic. Anyone know what I am talking about? Err, I got nothing. Pretty though. Layout of the same coaster from the giant wheel. This is also the same coaster which just had a wheel replacement 15 minutes prior to our ride. The Daves "Not Hesitating" on the Go Go Happy Speed Coaster of OMG look out for the donkey punch turn coaster. One of the few "close to death" coaster experiences of the trip. Look ma, no brains. Look inside for proof. The next day we find ourselves at a park. Imagine that. Maybe you will get pictures of coasters after all. Here is Jeff and Mike at the silk fashion show. I am glad there is a plant in the way of my view. Poor Mike sitting next to the dirty old man. It's all about silk, not Brian on this trip. Chris (the dancing Texan) and Callum drawing a crowd. It was actually the most entertaining thing inside the city. I chose door number 2 hoping I would get an exit. Instead, it was more of the same, only in a larger scale. Inside the Forbidden City, everyone is checking out the map thinking, it this place really that big? Just like the Fonz, only in Chiner! I just love how Leonard is looking at the flag Frank just gave Leo with such passion and respect. In the words of Jodi Foster, "It's so beautiful, so beautiful." Mao says, buy my tshirt. I say, where are all the bathrooms? Tianamen Square. I hear they are building an intamin mega lite here. That's the word on the street anyways. sfne2005
continued...without much fanfare... And I managed not to get wet during the taking of these pictures. They had this really cool looking splash boat ride that had at least two drops, and underground portion and cool themeing. Too bad it opened at 4pm...our departure time. Gotcha! So we see a bunch of people exit this little building. We investigate and find Bob inside.... Flying Island on a stick. Cobra Kai roll. Kumali clones rock SLCs. Finally, a sign of quality. No knock offs here. Got adventurous with lunch because I was freakin starving....damn curry was hot! I'll pass on the pork lungs. But I do like the ring of the cucumber moistens the sauce. Verbs in menu items kick ass! No idea why I took this picture Speaking of which, they had this show which was supposed to be awesome...with all sorts of fire and water. Sort of a dud in my opinion. Waterpark t-shirt. Wild flood perhaps? Awe hell no. Crazy flat ride inside a building. The castle is pretty massive. From the flying island. Troy, troy! Flying with all my friends. If this was in Korea, your hands would graze the walls if you stuck them out far enough. A sampling of "burst mode"....which came out pretty good considering. Bob, Miles, Jeff and Steve...."Prepare for Air"...I mean Crystal Wings.
Coaster Palooza
Hey Rich! Â Gyendolynne was laughing out loud with your trip report. She thinks it is terrific. I have never been to China, but she has gone twice. She loves your picture of you with the wall. There is a person at her work that is German. She hopes to translate your shirt. Â Keep up the good work! Hope to see you some time soon. Â Rick & Gyendolynne

DarkStitch626
First off, great photo report. Secondly, why in the heck did they choose the most boring spot for the photo on Crystal Wings...jeez the lift hill. Where is the excitement in that that would be so boring. Coaster Palooza
Hey Rich, Â I am told your shirt says the following: Â Two figures are sitting on the open air toilet. Â Maybe Soren could help with this as well!

SteveC
But did you win a plush mushroomhead in a game?  he never did...probably never will do, but hey - look under the cap  Hate to say I find your reports as amusing as ever!  Later  Steve
sfne2005
Rick, Your translation scares me a little.  Miles, Bite me...on both accounts. But I progressed your EBA's game pretty damn far.  Scott, the vest made it to Asia, but is better suited for plane rides as I can put the necessities in the pockets i.e., passport and plane tickets. You should try a TPR trip sometime and find out  Steve, I aim to please. See what happens when you hang around with me.   Continuing on a bit..... More to come soon. Maybe this TR should just be a sign TR. And another one for good measure. Night life at the hotel after the rain. Now I wonder what #3 really is supposed to be. Just a little bit of rain. Arrival at the next hotel when a storm hit. (shakes head) The crazy eyes picture. What's with David and Miles. Yea, Sreps. Ok. Here it is in all its glory. Speed slide I think it was called. This place thinks awfully highly of itself. Bonus Credit time. I think I see Bruce Banner! False advertising! The space shuttle isn't the real one and there is no spinning mouse here either. Upcharge attraction. Best ride in the park. Captured from the same spot as the "onride photo lady" who was running back and forth to upload the photos she just took of us riders. Really interesting elements in this one. Totally envisioned a wheel flying off this Steel Dragon style. Proof that I took a few photos from Nanhu Park. So on the plane from Beijing to Guangzhoo, or as what I like to call it, G-zoo. It was longer than flying from Massachusetts to Florida! After getting back to the hotel and catching some post Mike made, I wrote this letter in the hopes Robb would upload it since he grabbed my photos from each day...never happened though. At least I was thinking of ya big guy.
sfne2005
Love you Chimelong time. And lastly, I will leave you with a random bus picture of David just because, well, this was odd. Not sure which is cooler....the "Cool Cucumber" Lays potato chips or the towel made into an ascot Steve. She's gonna blow! Sploosh Can't wait for an intamin version. Hope a Six Flags near me gets one of these soon. Oblivion my least. Griffon is still my favorite Dive Machine. I could watch the water spouts all day. Dank dark hole Oblivion style. Snice isn't it? Onride. Unlike Griffon, you can explore the underbelly of Dive Coaster. Chinese Shak-Ra! Up until this point, this was by far the best coaster of the trip. So beautiful.... apparently no one caught my Contact movie reference from earlier. Burst mode part deux. My wit escapes me when its just a picture of a coaster. Yea, I have close to 30 photos of the train coming towards me. Burst mode friendly coaster.... The gout seat. Mine made it with me this trip! Woohoo! Probably best sign of trip. Mine never left my side. Just a friendly reminding, there will be three more pics of signs. One of the great perks of a TPR trip...ERT! "It is so choice. If you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up." Chiner Collosus. Entrance gate of Chimelong.

sfne2005
So did you order the chocolate puke? Â Come on Bob, you should know better. OldJJman
You didn't really get THAT adventurous with the food, did you??? Â Oh C'mon! This is Rich we're talking about. Â If it isn't sugared, powdered, glazed, or you can only add milk or ketchup to it, he won't eat it!! Â Â Â In all honesty he did try something near the end of the trip. I just don't remember what it was. Â He was REALLY hungry! Â Â Â JJ

sfne2005
Mysterious Intamin...I mean Island. Last picture for a bit, so enjoy it. But Skycar (that's the intamin mini rocket) was where its at. Phallic island was pretty. Topple Tower. Good caption huh? Natasha sporting a new and temporary handlebar mustache. Maybe if it had one click buzz bars it would be more fun. Yea hi, just riding upside down on a straight piece of track. This wasn't really bad, not really fun. But the kicker was the transitions from upside down to right side up. I see you Screaming Squirrel. Should be renamed to Screaming People. It was horrible! Park staff was thoughtful and brought over a couple of golf carts to bring us over to our next ERT session. Seems like a good time to bring out that red umbrella again. Looks like they tried to stack the train to get a rollback. Kidding, I am just kidding. It packed quite a punch like storm runner and almost as fun. ...around and through, then brake... ...upside down... ...down... "Singing, in the rain".....and hoping they run their Intamin launch coaster in the rain too. Here we are at a nicely themed little park called Mysterious Island. And it rained a little while we were here.
