Philrad71
Got pre-buy tickets to Roger Water's 'The Wall' concert in Buffalo next June 21st...saw them in 2010 and it was one of the best shows I have ever seen in my life. Couldn't pass the chance on seeing it again, even though a Pink Floyd reunion (minus Richard Wright - RIP) would be the best thing ever.
STR8FXXXINEDGE
Hey everyone, So my two roommates own a record label (Capeside Records) and they, along with one of the bands (Wolves & Machines) on their label are just trying to do some promoting. Not only is it my friends that run the label, but I'm also friends with all the guys in the band. They're a great bunch of kids, and they play some AMAZING music! It blows my mind when I think about how young they all are and the stuff they are producing. Anyway, the reason that I'm posting here is, they have their Bandcamp set up so you can download their album to check it out. You can give them any amount you want to pay for the album, or you can even download it for FREE!!! They just want to spread the love. If you're a music lover, PLEASE do yourself a favor and check these dudes out. They're young, progressing daily, and are already amazing! There's not a bad song on the whole album, and you wont be disappointed! You can download the album here http://wolvesandmachines.bandcamp.com. What people are saying about our debut record, Ailments: "The songs perfectly escort the listener between dreamy, floating soundscapes, and blood-rush, punk-rock outbursts which soak in the kind of raw emotion that emo and hardcore-purists are always on the prowl for." - UK's Rockfreaks.net "With a list of catchy, almost anthemic tracks at the listeners' disposal, (Ailments) should be hard to put down." -AMP Magazine "There is smooth sailing, rough patches, feelings of remorse and feelings of joy. Wolves and Machines have made a very strong record on all accounts, and the young band from Michigan can only improve from this phenomenal debut." -Absolutepunk.net Hope you all enjoy! Thanks, -Brian P.S. If you download it, post here and let me know what you think of it. I'm curious to know. You can also find Wolves & Machines on Facebook if you'd like to friend them and let them know what you think.
Team Thriller
Has anyone else heard of this Justin Bieber Christmas Album? Ugh. Yes, I have - I added it to my Spotify. But then again I actually do not mind him. I do not want to start a argument but if you REALLY look at it its not his fault he is so popular - its his fans. If NO one liked him then he would not be every where. On a side note... a MUCH better young singer is Greyson Chance! Justin Bieber is a very talented singer who is ruined by the media trying to make millions off him. I liked him before he got famous (Yes I knew of him lol) I've been getting really into Hollywood Undead. I love how they seem to be a mix of Linkin Park and Avenged Sevenfold. imawesome1124
I've taken a big interest in Red recently. They are a Christian band. Quite a bit of their songs don't seem like it when you listen to them, but when you take the time to really think about the lyrics you can definately find the Christian meaning. Right now I am hooked on their album "Until We Have Faces." They have the perfect mix of heavy rocking songs (Feed the Machine, Watch You Crawl) and melodious, almost operatic ballads(Let it Burn, Hymn for the Missing). My personal favorite from the album is really a tie between Lie to Me(Denial) and Buried Beneath. You don't have to be at all religious to like them. I personally am religious and am going through a huge Christian rock phase right now. Other Christian bands I like are Thousand Foot Krutch, Skillet, Disciple, and Pillar. accelerate
I have been listening to Nightwish a lot lately with their new album. I have made the decision that Annette is so much better than Tarja. You can actually understand Annette's voice (Unlike Tarja...) and her voice just seems more natural. I can't stand some of Tarja's higher pitch singing (ie. Ghost Love Score), but so far, I haven't found Annette's singing near as strenuous. coasterguy4
^^ Great list, man. If it were mine, Machinedrum and Real Estate would have rated a bit higher, but hey, to each his own, right? Yeah I feel you. I was too hard on Machinedrum I think, really a wonderful record, although repetitive in my opinion. I loved the Real Estate, but I enjoy the almost shoegaze-y feel of their debut more. Either way, it is nice to see someone on TPR with similar taste, hearing people talk about cheesy dubstep for half of the last year in this thread has killed me. I finally compiled a list of my gigs since the school year started, it has been a fun few months. Ignore the crappy Cali Christmas(worst night of my life.)+Blink-182+Deadmau5 stuff. long stories. FYF Fest @ LA Historic Park Reid Speed, Cyberoptics, and FS @ Crest Theater Deadmau5, Excision @ Hollywood Palladium No Age, John Wiese @ The Smell TV on the Radio, Artic Monkeys, Panda Bear, Smith Westerns, Warpaint @ Hollywood Bowl Star Slinger, Shigeto @ Troubadour Blink 182 @ Hollywood Bowl Portishead @ Shrine Expo Hall Givers @ 987 Studio Givers @ Troubadour Eagle Rock Music Festival @ Eagle Rock Cold War Kids @ Troubadour The Cure @ Beacon Theater Girls @ Music Box Modestep @ Music Box Almost Acoustic Christmas (Night Two) @ Gibson Ampitheater Cali Christmas @ Gibson Ampitheater Electric Flower @ O'Briens Bad Religion, TSOL, Youth Brigade @ Santa Monica Auditorium

CCG2
^Enough of that I have to listen to everybody talk about him at my high school at least 5 times a day and it's down right annoying. Not that i hate him in anyway, it's just i don't want to hear anything about him for a while, even though that probably won't happen. Anyways, if you guys want to check out something awesome that has developed over the past few days, check this out: http://www.electronic-battle-weapons.com/2012/01/02/justice-live-summafieldayze-2012-gold-coast-australia/comment-page-1/ Justice (electronic duo from Paris) just performed their first live show in 5 years at Field Day Festival in Australia on the 1st. This is the full recording from their set and it sounds awesome. I'm going to see them in New York at Terminal 5 later this year and I can't wait. If you grabbed their latest album "Audio, Video, Disco" and thought it was pretty "meh" like myself, this will change your mind. Especially with the 15-minute extended version of AVD, it's amazing. no_brain_er
Justice is coming to Atlanta in March. I'd love to see them, but $60 is stretching my budget a little too far. Maybe when I have a little more disposable income, I'll see them. Until then, I've got loans to pay off. In other news, Fun. is also coming to Atlanta! I'm radiating excitement! I saw SBTRKT Live at The Hoxton and it was amazing. While it wasnt as hard-hitting or polished as his DJ sets it was still an amazing set. But this was back in December, so the live show should be more refined now. Trust me, he's worth it. So is Machinedrum, but I haven't seen any of his live / DJ material though.
