YAY! I'm gonna have to go with the staples like Justice, Daft Punk, and The Chemical Brothers, along with stuff like Swedish House Mafia, Deadmau5, Afrojack, Savoy, Armin van Buuren, The Bloody Beetroots, Steve Aoki, MSTRKRFT, Boys Noize, Above & Beyond, and a lot more stuff. Hardstyle is also one boss genre. I was just at EDC so my interest in EDM has grown tenfold in about two weeks. How about you, what are your favorites?

As of right now, my favorites include (but are DEFINITELY not limited to) The Bloody Beetroots, deadmau5, Boys Noize, Justice, Crookers, The Toxic Avenger, Simian Mobile Disco, Basshunter, Tiesto, Ohm Boys, Mux Mool, Royksopp, Digitalism, LCD Soundsystem, Hot Chip, Kaskade, Bobmo, and DatA. I also really like drum 'n bass, like High Contrast, Pendulum, Danny Byrd, etc.

 

I'm also really into heavier drum 'n bass, I guess a lot of people call it drill 'n bass. Venetian Snares is what's what.

Hey fellow electronica fans I grew up in d&b(really old position chrome records.ugh) and breaks(90s) and now pretty much like everything, though I've been on a house kick as of late. I kind of miss drum & bass. It's a shame half of the producers jumped on the dub bandwagon.

 

Some of my favs have been mentioned already (Beetroots, Crookers, Justice, Disco..

 

I'll add some more.. Bingo Players, Chocolate Puma, Mark Knight(going nuts right now), Funkagenda, Afrojack, Riva Starr.

 

God.. that list makes me sound like a commercial whore..Does anyone here make it to UMF ? ?

^ I've never been to a music festival before. It probably would be fun and all, but I still prefer to see bands in a more intimate setting.

 

Speaking of which, does anyone like Flyleaf? I saw them open for Breaking Benjamin and Three Days Grace back in February at State College and I thought they were awsome. I've been keeping my eyes peeled for more shows. By the way, here's video that I found from the Penn State show I went to.

I just got tickets for Streetlight Manifesto for next Thursday at the House of Blues! I cant wait. It will be my first ska show, and there are no seats, so it will be mosh heaven. YAY!

I strongly recommend Winter Music Conference week in Miami for anyone who enjoys EDM. And concerning Ultra, next year it will be 3 days (now including Sunday), so no more great DJ's on main stage being crammed into a 15 minute set. When they took Wolfgang Gartner off after 15 this year, I wanted to start throwing sh*t. The parties on South Beach & downtown Miami are where it's at.

 

Hopefully dubstep totally dies by spring of 2011..
