hansrubens
Hi everyone, I visited Heide Park Soltau in Germany last sunday and it was awesome, busy but awesome. I really didn't know what to expect from this park. The only thing I did know that there was some Intamin wood that needed to be ridden. There were parts of the park that were themed very well and some other parts that didn't had too much love. After all I liked Heide Park very much. The (main)coasters: Colossos broke down early in the morning and after it opened up again it was only operating one train. Later in the afternoon they put up the second train again. Nevertheless the ride was great. Not as awesome as El Toro but it had plenty of air. The only thing that it made less enjoyable was the roughness through the turns. Desert Race was operating one train the whole day. So that line was about an hour. The ride itself did disappoint a little. It was some good fun and there was some air but I found it too short or at least too short to make it a number 10. I do like the Intamin Mega or Mega lites better. That launch was pretty awesome though. So enough blah blah on to the pics. Desert race How can I post a Photo TR without a Rapids ride.... Thanks for reading and see ya next time around. Last turn. The blue train was too shy to come out of the garage. Desert Race station. Wow through the station pic. Leave you out with some more Desert Race pictures. Why do all the germans have beer bellies? Another small weenie guy. For all you monorail fanboys. Last turn into the station. First drop. Kiddie credit time. Lifthill shot. We got lucky with the weather. Obvious station pic. Yep I count powered coaster. Easy decision. Last Colossos pic. The worst part of the ride is probably the helix. I don't believe that! Yep she is huge. Back to some more Colossos pics. I never thought a SLC could look so damn sexy. Actually this part of the ride was... well smooth for a SLC. Dark clouds are gathering. Couldn't get it on camera. Those rides are so damn fast. Ah another Vekoma top model. Double loop, double corckscrew and a helix. But this one has a much smoother ride and I love the old Arrow trains. Cause it has the same elements. Noted. The dutch GP will call this a Python clone. Up to Vekoma land. Small sausage. Big sausage. Mr. ALi-B N Gator wants to be in this great report too. There was a nice little beergarten. OMG they are growing grass on a roof. It got a great indoor part. But hey that's just my opinion. The best Bob in the world IMO. Yeah thats much better. Look how train behaves through the helix. This picture is better with a train in it. (credit 180). The Mack Bob was great. Just like the station building. See. It look liked they got it synchronised. The best part of the ride. You didn't get too wet from the splash but on your way back to the station you get soaked from the splash of the boat coming down. And a owl up front. The ride itself rocked. It had a monkey on the back. The left guy reminded me of another crazy german. Queue line for Wildwasserbahn II (nominated for the most original ride name ever) And the gyro drop tower Scream. Well I forget to take a picture of the ride itself. And some crazy germans striking their national colors. There are some other rides too. Like an observation tower. As I mentioned that launch was pretty awesome. Right next door was Desert race. This was not so awesome. See happy faces. Back to the happy thoughts again. After it opened up it ran awesome. The next thing they did was running it with emptt trains. That train got evacuated later on. This was the first thing we saw that morning. Safety first. So we had to check the height guide. On arrival. We had to drive for four hours so we had to leave home at 6 am.

monkeyoverlord71
just to say the kiddie coaster pics are the same it says they are the first drop and the last turn if that was true it would be very short but anyway nice TR Heide Park looks like an awesome park

Groteslurf
Great report Hans. Unfortunately I didn't have to be in Hamburg for work this year otherwise I would have combined it with a visit to Heidepark for sure like I did last year. hansrubens
^ Yes it is a short ride but is longer than just lift-drop-station. Actually it's lift-drop/helix-small hill-last turn-station. ----hans

texcoaster
I liked Heide Park. I went in Colossus' second season, so there was no roughness at all, not even in the helix. Still..... I didn't like it much. The Bobsled, though. OMFG, that thing ROCKS! The indoor section took me completely by surprise and I wish I had bought the hysterical onride shot of me on that ride with the look of shock on my face. The entire ride, I just kept thinking "this is a freaking BOBSLED???? Are you kidding me???" Best bobs in the world, absolutely.
