Six Flags Fiesta Texas (SFFT) Discussion Thread

P. 288: New B&M Dive Machine Announced!

Recommended Posts

Not only does the loose/lose thing annoy me, but it also is highly frustrating the amount of people complaining about this video. Two things...

1. The park did something REALLY AWESOME by releasing this video, but...

2. All some of you guys are doing is proving why more parks don't release "test run" videos, because people don't quite understand what they are looking at. Of COURSE the ride is going to go faster than it's initial test run with water dummies. Of COURSE they are going to release a full POV, not an "edited" one. There are things called "test runs" and "tweak and adjust" and if you're not familiar with these terms, then please don't complain about the video. It's fine to ask questions, but it just frustrates me when people watch a test run video, and assume it's the final product.

It was really cool that the park released this video. And all I'm trying to do is educate those that don't understand what they are looking at so the parks don't read this feedback and go "Wow, maybe we shouldn't release cool videos like this anymore if all people are going to do is complain..."

Understand where I'm coming from? Good.

Great video and being that I drive by on 1604 and get to see it everyday, makes me want to ride it even more. The direction the lift hill points and with the lights on at night, it looks alot taller than SKC even though there is not that much of a height difference.

I was watching the video again an noticed from the top of the lift........Is it me or did they lay white rock around the coaster on top of the quarry wall??? It looks like they laid some cover up rock in a "u" shape from the barrel roll all the way around to where the train flys off the side of the quarry wall. Looks nice around the area nontheless. I can't wait for my next visit.

Yeah, based on the offride footage we've seen we know that this thing hauls butt! Don't let the POV fool you, I'm sure it was taken during a random point in testing that resulted in trains not running as fast. Just be thankful the park is providing us with this awesome footage a month before the ride even opens! They ever said they will be releasing a full POV soon. Can't wait!

Wow. I can't wait to ride this thing. It looks incredible. RMC really outdid themselves this time. I have alot of great memories of the original Rattler so I can't wait to ride it again and create more memories now that it's the Iron Rattler.... plus it's considered another credit and I don't have that many so I kinda need it. I like how they left the lights on in the tunnel, it really shows how tight it is. I never knew it was that compact. Lets just hope they keep them on! I think they said they would in a video but nothing is for certain.

Is 5/17 the official opening day?

May 17th is the VIP party. SFFT hasn't officially announced the opening day to the GP. Some people are thinking it'll be Saturday the 18th but previous recent interviews have stated Memorial Day Weekend.

Anyone know different?

Humm....I thought the VIP event on May 17th was the media event as well. Oh well I guess we'll just have to wait and see. I'm sure Robb A. will probably be the first one to know the scoop and I'm sure he'll post as soon as he finds out.

*side note* awesome pics that were posted earlier. Major coaster porn!

Dont take this as me not liking this ride, I hope to get the chance next year to get down and ride it... but, I wish they switched the zero G roll and the air time hill, I feel like a zero G roll into that tight tunnel would have been a lot more exciting than what is there now...

Still a great ride though!

You haven't even ridden it yet and you're already revising the ride and saying they should have done X vs Y etc????

*sigh*

This coaster is going to be amazing and will put SFFT on the map.
