VegasBaby
and I just got invited to participate in the Joker: Carnival of Chaos commercial shoot happening tomorrow at SFFT. How exciting i get to be part of the commercial (and miss a Friday at work to do it) not excited about the rush hour traffic going to San Antonio. . but worth it to participate! You should have a great time at the commercial shoot. I was lucky enough to be a part of the commercial shoot for Twisted Colossus at SFMM a few years and absolutely loved it. SF really treated us really well, feeding us breakfast and lunch as well as snacks later in the day. During the day I was at the shoot, I got about 20 rides on TC (and it was about 2 weeks before it opened to the public). When the shoot was over, they gave us a complementary ticket that could be used any day during the season. It was a really fun experience and I'd love to do it again sometime. ytterbiumanalyst
Hmmmmmm, POWER, SPEED? Illinois isn't highlighted among states where this doesn't exist. Maybe an S&S launched?? But Utah is. That's where S&S is located. There's also one in Missouri, which is highlighted too.
Canobie Coaster
Well, the "not in Georgia" clue eliminates it simply being a DC Kids area re-brand, so that's something. I like both the Sky Roller idea, and that other crazy looking Zamperla that's at Coney Island! Either would be a great, unique addition, to what I already consider the best SF park! Having ridden Clockworkz at Coney Island, I don't think it could be that. It's mesmerizing off-ride, but I wouldn't say the ride had any speed or power to it. That's more of a family ride. bert425
back from a very full day. 5 rides on DC SuperVillian Swings (SO happy to have this ride back in operation. .and tho the pics I've seen of the white lighting left me a little underwhelmed? they turn blue while riding. . gives off an ominous glow. 9 rides on Joker (which, while it doesn't have any real forces from "spinning" gives some amazing pops of airtime. . and the velocity of that swing, holy hell! utterly fantastic). . . . but the star of the show? the funhouse queue. They built a freaking mini-haunt, with sliding doors opening into other rooms, and gimmicks all over the place! You go thru in groups of 5 or 6, controlled by an operator at the front of the funhouse. Bravo to SFFT. . . an incredible addition. Spent a good 4 hours after the filming wrapped enjoying the park - which ended up with walk ons for almost everything, as Joker, once opened to the general public at 3, drew the crowds & the lines). great day! (and yes, they gave us two tickets for any day to bring folks to the park, as well as a meal voucher for dinner (which I didn't end up using, as we finished early enough was able to use my dining plan ). . they provided light snacks thruout. .but nothing "meaty" - as was explained, we're going to be riding spinning things, so they wanted to cut down on any issues. Hysterically, Joker has hoses at every corner of the ride pad! LOL.. . (tho during the filming, only had ONE shut down for cleanup from a protein spill)
Nrthwnd
Sounds like you had a great day there, Bert! And if you see the eventual film first, provide a link to it, please?
bert425
Oh, I'm sure it will be a 5 second clip of the ride in motion in a commercial. LOL but I wore a bright red shirt, so maybe spotable

Texasbest2015
What could it be? A coaster, but I doubt it, I say a flat ride!
bert425
. .and he just announced (about an hour ago). .that Celebrate (the fireworks show along the cliff wall) is closing. . . hmmmmm
Bamwa
Hello All. Newb here. My guess with all the gear clues is the Nebulaz. like this...[youtu_be] [/youtu_be] Small footprint so I guess the ride removal clues are just to gauge the popularity of things. Nrthwnd
^ I do wonder how fast they can run this thing? Apparently, the opinions here are that the one in Luna Park moves too slow to be considered "thrilling." Near misses at a higher speed might correct that, yes? No? thrillseeker4552
I can't imagine this much teasing leading to a small flat ride like that. My guess is either a large, unique flat ride of some sort or (dare I say) a roller coaster. He keeps saying "not ONE here" implying that it is a single ride/attraction and not an expansion or new area. I would say that thinking this is a roller coaster is kinda crazy since they just got Wonder Woman, but then I remembered how they built coasters in 2013, 2015, and 2018, so saying they might build one in 2020 isn't too far out there. Six Flags really spoils this park quite a bit!
bert425
some "official" pics of Joker from the shoot yesterday (posted by Richard Schwartz, who took them from the top of the lookout - the same place I went a couple of weeks back on our Cliff Walk tour during Coasting for Kids event). He gave permission to "share wherever we wanted" the resolution when he zooms in isn't great, but I'm top dead center in the Red shirt, dark shorts - nearly upside-down

fiestatexasfan
The phone number that Fiesta Texas usually uses to tease their new rides has been updated. The new message is almost a minute long. After listening, I think that Crackaxle Canyon will be getting the new ride (whatever that ride may be, I have no clue). Anyways, give yourself a listen. I’m curious to see what y’all think. The number is (210) 697-5478.
bert425
^ unless they are just messing with us? a sign noting 2020 construction is coming to the park, with that number on it? went up today just to the left of the Boomerang entrance. and Jeffery Siebert listed Boomerang in one of his first clues with "will it stay or will it go?" so guess we'll find out on the 29th (just about 3 weeks!) pic via Park President Jeffery Siebert on Facebook, with comment: "Clue Alert: There’s something new at Boomerang!" fiestatexasfan
Yeah JS has definitely threw red herrings out there in the past. I wonder when we’ll find out which attraction is leaving, because there have been times in the past when attractions are announced to close earlier than the new ride is announced (like power surge was announced to be closing a month before WW was announced). That could’ve been just because WW started construction sooner though because it was a coaster.
Bamwa
"Dive" is my main takeaway of the phone message.
ytterbiumanalyst
Oh man, I hope so. That was the first Boomerang I ever rode, and it was terrible. That was back in college, years before I found TPR. It and Rattler were the only two rides there I didn't like. They fixed the one; hopefully they can replace the other. Bamwa
They say dive coasters are one trick donkeys though. I've never been on one but if it's like Yukon Striker that would be pretty sweet for the center of the park.
Nrthwnd
^ Well, since Oblivion in Alton Towers was the first dive coaster of it's kind, I'd say they've been pretty popular through the years. And gotten much MUCH bigger, too! And honestly, everything's a "one trick donkey," even if it has a custom built layout etc.
ytterbiumanalyst
I've just been on Valravn, but it's super fun. I'm all for more of these being built.
