johnnyknottsville
I hate how the rails are not painted even with the fresh paint it looks dull imo I can't wait to see how Batman rides, is it just me or does the RMC track on this thing make the ride look much more intimidating then the Intamin version? Just with what they have constructed so far the track to me looks like this thing is going to be insane
Gnome
^S:KC does not disappoint! Hands down my favorite B&M Floorless. I've heard good things about this ride, too--not to mention Iron Rattler. I'm curious to see what S&S does with the "Zacspin" type ride. I really liked Insane at Grona Lund (which surprised me). Poltergeist is a don't miss too. . and the Road Runner Express at Fiesta really chuggs along fast! Do they severely trim poltergeist on the mcbr like they do on flight of fear at kd? am350z
Hello everyone. New here but excited to spend some time on the forum. Very cool site. We are heading to Fiesta Texas next week, likely Wed or Thurs. Not sure how crowded it will be since it is actually the week before spring beak though schools vary. Would you guys suggest platinum flash pass or vip? We did dland vip for 2 days last year and it was great. Have 3 adults and 1 child who is tall enough for most rides. Thanks for any suggestions and help!
ArizonaGuy
Next week is the main weekend for Spring Break for many San Antonio and south Texas schools. It's going to be pretty busy. I would recommend being at the park for opening. I never have done Flash pass in the past but it's something I would consider especially if most of the coasters are 1 train operations. Have fun and take pictures! We would like to see them posted.
am350z
Thanks. Will definitely do at least the flash pass. Having trouble deciding platinum vs vip. Price for platinum is pretty close to vip by the time you add ticket price, the pass, food, drinks and parking. I don't understand why the platinum pass lets you ride twice in a row but vip only once. Also, by son will probably still want to ride some of the kiddie rids which are not covered by flash pass but I guess are on the vip (it just says front of line for all rides). Will post pics for sure!
bert425
yeah, i've never done a Flash Pass in Fiesta. really, the only Coaster that is extremely slow loading tends to be "Pandemonium". . the rest of the coasters are basically people-eaters, so don't get discouraged by long lines. NON-Coasters tho?.. . expect long lines (the entire day, in particular if it's sunny) for Bugs Bunny Rapids (LOVE this flume, but the line sometimes takes over an hour, even early in the day), Gully Washer (a so-so roaring rapids), and the Skyscreamer (the line queue will fool you because it LOOKS short.. it never, ever is. . but this is a unique one as it's just next to the quarry wall, so it's fun to ride). it's too bad you aren't going a little later in the season, as once the Waterpark section opens, it really drains folks away from the "dry" areas of the park (Fiesta has really good, fun options in their waterpark section, and that Texas shaped wave pool holds a LOT of people). gerstlaueringvar
Thanks for the report, Jake! The ride looks a lot bigger than I pictured, in the animation it looks just a bit bigger than Inferno. That green dragon at the log flume tho...
am350z
Hmm, maybe we would be better off going to SFOT and saving Fiesta till summer.
bert425
That green dragon at the log flume tho... That's part of Bugs Bunny Rapids flume ride. . the flume is themed to the cartoon "Knighty Knight Bugs" here's the dragon from that cartoon [youtu_be] [/youtu_be] (and he spits water onto the folks in the boats as they float by (his head turns to follow the boats)). rcjp
I hadn't noticed there was a small straight segment before the dive into the brakes. Looking good.

Woodie Warrior
I hadn't noticed there was a small straight segment before the dive into the brakes.Looking good. I could be wrong but I'd guess there will be a trim brake there. Anybody know for sure?

DJeXeL
Good thing S&S included a transfer track. ZacSpins don't have a simple transfer. The vehicles have to be completely removed. Edited March 13, 2015 by DJeXeL
cyberdyne-systems
Hey guys! Just got back from SFFT today! Thought I'd post some pictures from my visit. Please note that my camera was acting up, so I didn't get to take that many photos. Sorry.... Just a quick trip report: the park wasn't as crowded as I thought it was going to be! I arrived around 3 in the afternoon, and I got into the park without a line! The longest I waited for a ride was about 20 minutes for Iron Rattler. Most of the rides were open, with a few exceptions (noted below). The weather was beautiful, and I had an awesome day! Superman Krypton Coaster was excellent with it's pretty new paint job! Fiesta Texas is one of my favorite parks in the country Batman the Ride construction is coming along well! More track waiting to be placed! Batman as seen from Spassburg Batman as seen from Rockville (I'm standing right next to the future entrance of the attraction) Here's the future entrance for Batman! Looks like they've started working on the control booth! Whirligig is still undergoing maintenance Roadrunner Express was closed today, and the entrance sign was missing. A note on the entrance said that it was closed for maintenance/refurbishment
cyberdyne-systems
Oh, and I wanted to post a little note about the Iron Rattler. So, when the ride first opened not too long ago, the train used to slow down almost to a stop at the top of the lift hill. This was to build anticipation for the first drop. Today, that feature was removed. The train did not slow down at all at the top this time, it just went into the first drop at normal lift hill speed. This made the first drop soooo much faster! alilstronger
^ It did not stop at the top of the hill last summer when I went.
cyberdyne-systems
^Hmm, they must've removed it last summer then. Sorry for the old news!
thrillseeker4552
Holy crap, this is much bigger than I was anticipating! It looks great! It's nice to see a transfer. The S&S version looks so much better than the Intamin version in so many ways.
Loco
^Hmm, they must've removed it last summer then. Sorry for the old news! Not so sure. It was slowing down at the top when I went during Fright Fest and HIP. I was also there today and got caught off guard when it hurled us down the drop! Makes me wish they just run it like that all the time.
cyberdyne-systems
^I guess it varies then. Sometimes they operate it with the slowdown, sometimes they don't. This was the first time I've been on Iron Rattler without it. It caught me off guard too!! Scared the crap out of me for sure.
