rcjp
^Still, I think a standard one and a GIB are more different as the GIB may seem more intimidating and, therefore, some will only choose to ride the normal one while Time machine and superman are closer to each other (with the difference that superman is better, from what I've heard ). TrelleTrelle
[quotMagnumFreak25"] 2) The Time Machine is much like Superman . . . why put something in if to be similar to something you already have? Well they did put two Vekoma Boomerangs next to each other..... That, they did do. So I wouldn't be suprised at all and also considering the fact that sixflags is overly dramatically cheap. Plus,The public wouldn't know the diffrence. Only we as rollercoaster enthusiasts would be able to diffrentiate between the two B&M Floorless coasters. Any thing is possible considering this is sixflags. Opinions , opinions and oh more opinions. The odds are endless lol Edited August 20, 2014 by TrelleTrelle

Exactly. GIB and standard are different, not saying I liked that decision, though.
KBrylczyk
The biggest clue to me that this may be a Gotham project is the phrase they keep using, "Urban Renewal Project" I thought that sounded familiar and it turns out I had seen it at six flags parks before, on the walls inside of the gotham city public park queue for B:tR. TPR member VF15 just took a picture of it in fact: You made 90% of the people in this thread think that was from Fiesta Texas. I think it's funny as hell, but once they realize it's an old sign from Great America they won't be so happy. Might wanna fortify your house. G$ Kurt
I think it's funny too! People.. The sign is from great America... What's funny too is I posted that comment and then read that trip report where he just so happened to take a perfect picture of the sign I was talking about! Kemotblue01
I read the report too and saw that image and its Top line and my thoughts were exactly the same Fiesta Texas has been using that line in their rockville message so my guess is that area is going to be rethemed into Gotham City. How much of the area is going to be rethemed that is now the question. They did say "Thrills" so they can incorporate and rename existing attractions. Like Scream, Poltergeist, The swings, The shoot to Chutes, etc. and in the meantime add a couple of new attractions like a coaster or a 4D show in the Rockville High. Going to be interesting to find out next week.

I just looked at their twitter and they posted a pic of something hanging under the balloon. Someone said that it says "worlds first". I'm assuming they went to the park and saw it. You couldn't even tell what it was in the pic. Can anyone confirm that? Also, the Rockville high building could be big enough for a coaster, no? That would be fun to theme it to the double life that bruce Wayne lives.
Rockville1312
I have been following this thread for a while now, trying to find out what could be changing at Fiesta Texas. While I'm not a roller coaster type of person, I enjoy going to the park for the shows and the mild rides. (Okay, I'm a wimp). I am truly sad that Rockin at Rockville High is closing. I will definitely see it before it closes. As for all of the retheming, I do not think this is accurate. I know some people who work inside the park, and I asked them recently why Fiesta Texas does not have more superhero rides, such as other parks. I know it has the superman, and used to have the joker, but that's really it. Compared to SFNO, or at least pictures and videos I've seen, they have a lot of licensed theming. The reason my friend told me SFFT does not have a lot of licensed rides and such is because of the cost of the fee to use the names, logos, and pictures. It is crazy expensive. And, we've seen SFFT does not have the money to maintain such fees, because of the rethemed Wiggles World, now Kidzopolis. The cost of retheming an entire theater, building, booths, places to eat, and multiple rides to fit the licensed theme would be too much. Plus the cost of the new ride, and the removal of Motorama and The Hustler. I would personally like to see a dark ride, to escape the heat and I just enjoy them! I would really like to see the Scooby Doo redone to make it more fun, with twists, turns, and spinning, such as the Men In Black ride at Universal Orlando. I can not put together all of these clues they have given us. Whatever it turns out to be, I do not believe they will retheme the entire Rockville section. nRoK
All the Wiggles World and other licenses were ended by Six Flags. It was nationwide not just SFFT. Tony Hawk, Terminator: Salvation, was all done to cut costs. Which is also why they had the clown cars on some coasters selling sponsorships. Not to sure what Six Flags is paying Warner Brothers, I wouldn't be surprised if Warner Brothers wasn't actually paying them.
ArizonaGuy
Hmmm......Six Flags America did get Mardi Gras this past season. They themed an area with a relocated coaster, retheme of existing ride, and a new ride. They really didn't invest tons of money with that SFA project. If SFFT is going to be getting a new coaster and not a relocated coaster, I don't think they're going to invest millions in a new coaster purchase plus a retheme of Rockville. Since they mentioned Urban Renewal Project, I'm thinking they're just going to update and spruce up the area. Can't see them retheming an an area to Gotham City considering Batman was a craze of the late 80's early 90's. (yes I know there are still Batman movies being made but the Batman theme isn't as family friendly as it once used to be.) The DC Universe thing.....ehhh...Just don't see it happening. Six Flags just isn't into spending the money they used to on attractions and theming. (Unless it's SFMM, SFGAm, or SFGAdv) Oh well....I guess we'll know in 8 LONG DAYS. They sure know how to mess with us. (some people with a bit more far fetched imaginations than others)

KBrylczyk
^ Actually there really is in a HUGE way. Free spin can do trains, not just single cars. Free Spin also can control which direction you flip based on magnets placed along the track. Yes, the IAAPA renderings looked similar to ZacSpins (on a larger scale, of course) but I wouldn't doubt they have the ability to curve the track forming a more traditional layout.
