^sorry still new to this and that may have been it because I just rode it once more and seems like it went a bit faster (especially on the cliff) than the first time. I got a lot more air time this time than last.

 

Yeah that's okay, I didn't mean to sound like a d*ck. Yeah, keep riding, maybe it just needs to warm up a bit!

Yay great news, I'll be back in San Antonio in 2.5 weeks! Not surprised to hear about seat belts and they don't bother me, but just curious to see what they look like.

Well at the entrance they have a demo seat showing you how and what the seat looks like. If u pull down the restraint there is a green light meaning you can ride. The trains have seatbelts kinda like the ones on sky screamer which yes you would think that eliminates all the air time which it took out some but not a lot. The bunny hill on the cliff wasn't as airy but still had a bump of airtime. Overall with the seatbelts it's still an amazing ride. I will post a picture of the entrance so you can see it. Im going to ride it as many times to see if where you get the most airtime and I will post back

Wow! Awesome! If you can get a pic of the test seat out front or any other pics of the new seat belts that would be great!

I would have expected this to have a seat belt from the beginning. (As well as TNTG) I don't have a problem with them, they actually make me feel more "secure" on a coaster in general.

 

I see they put the "rattles" on the back of the trains again also.

Good to hear that the ride has re-opened. I'm not surprised that they decided to install seat belts.

Man, gotta get back out there before school starts back up. My son really wants to ride it. Glad to hear it has reopened. I wonder what that means for us NTAG riders up here in DFW. Kinda bummed about the seatbelts. Gonna quench some of the airtime, but understand why they did..

Cool, I was planning on checking out the Fright Fest this year so now I have more motivation to go ride Irat a few times. I'm sure the seatbelts won't do much to the ride experience. I think it's safe to say Ntag will have seatbelts when it opens.

While I don't think the ride "needs" seat belts its certainly better than the alternative. Most wooden coasters have seat belts anyway so I'm pretty ok with it.

 

100% certainly these will end up on NTAG as well.

TPR goes back to SFFT and had 24 hours of ERT on iRat just kiddin'… Good to see they reopened it! Have fun locals!

Noob question- Will seat belts actually make the ride safer or is this just something to appease the general public? Also- Anyone know if NTAG is getting the "seatbelt treatment"?

This is great news! Sucks that I was in Texas for a month and wasn't able to ride because of the ride closure. I guess I'll just have to fly back soon to ride.

Well, El Toro has seatbelts, which of course ruins the ride completely So I'm not to worried about this.

 

Now, to find a reason to get down to Texas...

Maybe I shouldn't laugh, but I am...LOL at silhouette rider with a beer belly/gut It is a perfect illustration as to why someone overweight attempting to ride would be at risk.

Awesome news! I'm so glad it opened, but I still feel bad for everyone that went on the TPR Texas/Midwest Tour. I hope everyone of you will get the chance to ride it soon! And I hope I do too!

That diagram is comical and puzzling at the same time. More importantly, it's puzzling. Is that diagram suggesting that the operators are going to instruct the rider to adjust their stomach so that the restraint lowers to where the seatbelt extends across the waist? Does the seatbelt have to go under the stomach? I don't want to be an operator on IRAT if I have to adjust a rider's stomach position to fit the restraints. Talk about an embarrassing situation; even if it's for safety.

 

Also, it would be interesting know if the requirement for the "green light" to come on has been made stricter.
