p. 337: Quantum Accelerator family coaster announced for 2025!

Recommended Posts

Just went yesterday.

Bizarro is in awful condition. It is literally falling apart and the track is showing a lot of red again. The line queue is dirty and they're is still halloween posters from 2012 on the walls! The ride has been breaking down all week on the brake run. It happened twice yesterday!

The park was not prepared well for opening day.

Where it is showing red is where the wheels run on the track, nothing they can do about that since to wheels are going to peel piant off over time and besides this area the rest of the track is fine.

You are seriously being very over dramatic. Compared to past years when most of the rides aren't even open and the weather is god awful, SFNE's 2013 opening day went very well.

I'm going to try to go again tomorrow since the season pass ERT is on Bizarro from 10-11. (Given the number of season passes that they sell, I'm not really expecting a real ERT experience, but I figure I might be able to get on once.) I will also try to grab a picture or 2 of the new slide tower and check out the status of DejaGoliath.

I live in Cincy and I just bought a SFNE Gold pass. I am only visiting that park once(Never been there either) but will be going to about 5 Six Flags parks. I was told on the phone that the only early riding was 10 minutes before the park opens to GP. People keep mentioning ERT and I was wondering is there ERT everyday on different rides? If so how do I find out in advance what ride? Also if I show up at 9 or so can I get by pass processed so I am not wasting open hours getting my pass? It sound like the processing center is inside the park which I find to be odd. Thanks for any help. I assume flash pass is a must since this will be my only visit. (June 1)

They have been posting the ERT in the pass holder email and in the Pass Holder Perks page but they have been doing it week by week so far. Opening day, ERT was on Flashback. I think the Gold Pass may get you entry into the park 10 minutes early (based on the reports from SFMM) but I haven't been there right at park opening yet. I will try tomorrow, but since I have to drive from Boston, I can't make any promises. As for the pass processing, they do it right inside the park entrance to the right so I don't think that showing up at 9 will help speed up the process. If they let you in 10 minutes early and you have filled out the forms online, if the center is open you could be in an out in a couple minutes. Otherwise, I would say head towards Bizarro or Goliath if it is open since it only has the one train. I have only been to the park twice so I really can't comment on crowd patterns most of the season, but if the water park is open it might help shorten some of the lines for the coasters. Also,I know that Goliath, Flashback and Thunderbolt only have one train so it might be worth getting on them while the lines are shorter (if you need to get the boomerang). I am unsure if the Cyclone has 1 train or 2, maybe someone else can answer that question.

^ Cyclone depends on the day, it has 2 but with all its issues it usually runs 1 more often.^^ I personally wouldn't get a flash pass but it really depends on the day of the week Bizarro would be the only reason to get one and B:DK if its really busy (although line moves way faster than say cyclone, flashback or pandemonium). Goliath only had platinum last year so gold wouldn't help there. Park is small enough to get the major rides in if you are there all day but if it's a Saturday in the summer it might be worth it for your only trip.

Went to SFNE today, it was cheerleader day but the park was probably as crowded as a average summer day. Any ways, we rode:

Bizarro: Very good ride, the ride is way better in the front. The yellow train rattles more than the blue one, also the ride had alot of trouble with the lift hill (getting stuck in the same place every time).

Batman: The Dark Knight: Good B&M but it is a B&M. Could have been more forceful but it was ok.

Scream (Tower B): Very interesting, never ridden a Combo Drop and I think its the best program for a S&S Drop Tower. Really good tower.

Anyways, I have some pictures of Goliaths new trains on the track.

I wish they always ran the Combo Drop, but more often than not my more recent visits it's usually one or the other space shot vs drop.

Just got back from the park with my Band Trip:

The park was quite busy, between cheerleaders and band kids, still had a great day with weather and no breakdowns (for us!)

Bizzaro (1 ride): Ride felt great, the change in the audio track was nice, although the speakers are either shot, or too week (or a little bit of both). They had the mist on everything except the superman shaped tunnel thing..

Batman (2 rides): Ride feels great, the dispatching was a little slow, but the line was always moving.

Cyclone (1 ride): one train, way too long to wait for, but we did anyway.

Scream (1 ride): the combo tower on 2 legs, the other down. Always a fun ride.

Deja (oops!) Goliath: Ride is still down, the tower 1 cable is all over the place, I couldn't find the end of it to see if it snapped, but it doesn't look too good....

Fun short trip with the students. Hope to be back soon without the massive crowds.

^It's actually been running a lot more more this year and last from previous years. Whenever it's open, the other two only launch.

I haven't been this year and whenever I've gone in recent years they'll have the other two towers doing either or vs combo, which sucks just bad luck I guess.

When I visited a couple years ago, Scream had two towers early and late and all three in the middle of the day. While all three were operating, the ride operated in turbo drop mode (probably because one tower can only do that and the cycle is shorter, reducing the 60 minute wait), but when only the two were running they put it in combo mode. I rode it once with each setup and the combo mode is much, much better.

When Scream runs different programs on multiple towers (especially if one is turbo drop and another is space shot), do they let you pick which one you want to ride or are you just assigned whichever is available? I don't know about most people, but I'd be annoyed if I waited an hour and got assigned to a tower that was just running the space shot program (in my opinion the weakest of S&S's various rides by a significant margin).

do they let you pick which one you want to ride?

It's Six Flags New England, what do you think? On Saturday one tower was running in combo mode and the other was running in space shot mode, of course we got the space shot. We asked (nicely) if we could wait for the other tower and the ride operator rudely told us that we couldn't. This has always been the case at Six Flags New England. You can't choose your seats on Scream, Thunderbolt, Batman the Dark Knight or Goliath. This park has the dumbest policies of any Six Flags Park I've been to. It makes sense on Thunderbolt because of the size of the station, but that's about it.

I think that most of the opening-week weirdness is because they're still training the new hires and getting the old ones up to speed, which is understandable if not still highly frustrating and annoying. I suppose it's preferable to just throwing them in and making them fend for themselves, which would almost assuredly result in even slower operations and more than a few major ****ups.
