ice1972
Curious......so Flashback was open during HITP? That ride bothers me....the restraints are so old school....and IDK a belt might be nice for those who think that matters....and I swear I think my 11 yr old is gonna fall out....there’s like so much space between the restraint and her body.... Also I’ve noticed Flashback closes more frequently than any other coaster there.....well except Goliath this year but what’s the deal? Does it valley a lot or something? Has it ever stopped in the boomerang section? Er cobra roll?
coasterbill
It’s valleyed absolutely everywhere. Cobra roll, between the loop and cobra roll, between the loop and second spike, name a place and you can bet that Flashbback has valleyed there. But yes, it operated for Holiday in the Park despite not being advertised.

Yikes......we've ridden it several times....IDK if I'm gonna ride it again......they need to replace that thing - problem is IDK if theres enough room to put something better.....maybe one of those magnetic deals that goes back and forth through the station a couple times and then completes the cycle....theres really not anywhere in the park to put a big boy coaster anymore......stuff would have to be removed..... Canobie Coaster
^ It even valleyed in Kentucky.

ice1972
Curious.....I rode Superman twice on Sunday....both times in car 4.....I like that middle area where the air time is more pure floater....anyway I noticed my first ride was much less chattery than the second ride....the difference? First ride was relatively full and it wasn’t raining.....second ride there was like 5 people on.....and it was raining.....does that correlate? There’s gotta be some folks here with a long history on this ride......I’m not exactly sure but my ride count on it is still under 20 pretty sure.....thanks
Chasehat
Was it different trains? The blue one rattles much less than the red one. I’ve never really noticed a difference between full trains and empty ones. Or when it’s dry out vs rainy.
ice1972
No same train.....they were only running one....I guess the other is out of service waiting for some parts? I read that earlier in the thread.....it’s weird.....that first ride was really good.....which train chatters more? Blue or red? They were running the blue train... ice1972
Sorry.....reading fail....you said blue chatters less than red....anyway I just love this ride
redfoot12
Last week, July 19 to be exact, I headed to SFNE after I got off work (training in Hartford) for a few hours. It was my second trip so I focused on new to me rides like Wicked Cyclone and Joker, Great Chase (which I skipped on my first visit), and Superman. Joker was my first Free Spin and I actually really enjoyed it. I had very low expectations so I guess that helped. It's a clone I'll actually look forward to doing at other parks. Not much to say about Great Chase other than there was much shame involved. My expectations for Wicked Cyclone were pretty high and I gotta say I was slightly disappointed. While still an incredible ride, I was hoping it would match Twisted Timbers in terms of intensity and it fell a bit short. Out of the three I-boxes I've been on (TT and Twisted Colossus), it's definitely number three. I think I'd still rate it higher than Goliath as far as other RMC's I've ridden. I enjoyed the hell out of Superman. Got a ride in the front and one in the back. I don't think it's still my number 2 steel but at least in the top 15-20. Overall, a great trip and a welcome break from the monotony of the training I was in the area for. Wish I had had time for Quassy though!
screaminkid2005
Just curious, but where did you ride on WC?
Canobie Coaster
^^ I think that's about where Wicked Cyclone belongs. Twisted Timbers and Twisted Colossus are two of the best (in my opinion), so I'm not shocked it came in behind those two.
Sluggo77
^I haven’t been on TT but for me I liked WC more than Twisted Colossus. Just felt more complete to me instead of the dual similar runs. Not that I didn’t like TC because I absolutely did.
ice1972
Without having ever ridden TC or TT.....I haven’t yet prioritized getting to other parks but want to....WC is absolutely ridiculous.....it throws a lot at you in a short period of time....I rode this the first year it opened without ever knowing it was a refurb and without knowing anything about RMC....what a god damn ride man....this thing is incredible really....my 11 yr old has been riding a couple seasons now - with the shorter height requirements - and she was more nervous to get on Superman than ride WC.....IMO WC is such a diffeeent ride and is up there with Superman at the top of its class.... Again I haven’t ridden very many coasters.....I need to get to more parks....but I’m loving what’s at SFNE....
Chasehat
WC hasn’t been running well at all this year. When it’s running great it’s a top tier RMC for sure but with the way it’s running now, it’s more midpack. Currently the weakest of the RMCs I’ve ridden, albeit I’ve only ridden 3 of them. Canobie Coaster
Maybe I've just been lucky, but I've found it running similarly on all my rides this year. The only thing I have noticed is that it's louder than usual this summer.
Sluggo77
I last rode it July 3rd and it was hauling. I think it was the best ride I ever had on it.
redfoot12
Just curious, but where did you ride on WC? I rode it once in the front and twice in the back. Definitely better ride in the back.
xVicesAndVirtues
Rode it the first weekend in June and it was running as great as ever for me. Really warmed up at night and was giving insane air as always! Still probably my "favorite" steel RMC.
Canobie Coaster
I was planning on stopping in on the way to Lake George tonight, but AccuWeather was dead wrong. The midnight thunderstorm started four hours sooner. Another time!
OmnipotentSeal
Last Wednesday I went to Six flags great adventure and they closed 2 hours early because there were so few people in the park it was unprofitable to keep running. I'm going to six flags New England tonight and was wondering if that sometimes happens there as well. Edit: I also would like to know which rides close down during light rain Edited July 28, 2018 by OmnipotentSeal
coasterbill
It happens all the time, but only if the park can blame weather. Today’s a Saturday and the forecast is okay-ish. I think you’re fine. I’m pretty sure everything runs in the rain except Goliath which never runs in the sun either so what’s the difference?
Canobie Coaster
^^ I've ridden Superman and Wicked Cyclone in the pouring rain so most of the big rides will operate as long as lightning isn't nearby.
Chasehat
I’ve heard a rumor (take it with a grain of salt) that Superman will be one train ops until maybe fright fest.... Not good at all.
