p. 337: Quantum Accelerator family coaster announced for 2025!

if you ask nicely 99% of the time they will let you sit where you want.

That's nice.

Speaking of the Flash Pass, it looks like the regular one will be fine if you decide to get it. Joker is listed as Gold and Platinum only but it won't be open yet anyway and Mind Eraser is Platinum only which basically means VR is confirmed and I mean... holy living sh*t.

I really hate groupers. Though I have found (at other parks) if you ask nicely 99% of the time they will let you sit where you want.

Other being the key word. Not to be Debbie Downer, but 99% of the time SFNE doesn't care and will assign you a row. The 1% is if you ask for a middle seat. They'll grant that request knowing them.

LOL I definitely don't care about Joker, or Mind Eraser. I caught both of them shows already.

I guess my priorities are Supes, WC, Goliath (since Ive never ridden one of those), Thunderbolt, Batman, Pandemonium, Skyscreamer, the S&S tower, and I guess thats it. Catwomans Whip is the same as our Crazy Train, yes?

^^Throw in Buzzsaw and I'd agree with that (don't look at a picture or watch the POV of Buzzsaw, just trust me on this one).

Catwoman is the same as Crazy Train but you should ride it since it never has a line since it's 157,000 cars long. Flashback is also a very good Boomerang and we usually ride it at least once a visit since late in the day it's always a walk on.

When you say that "[Goliath] sucks w/ the Premier trains" what do you mean? Describe it for someone who hasn't ridden the new trains please, because I can't imagine GIB's being anything other than delightful. Georgia's old version was one of the most exhilarating rides I've ever had in the back row when it was working.... I feel like I'd put up w/ a bad train for that thrill.

Imagine a car wreck multiplied by 10. The harnesses bash your head multiple times. I only rode in the back and that was a terrible mistake. It was honestly worse than Mind Eraser and Flashback and is way at the bottom of coasters I've ridden. (Sorry for being so negative, but it's all true)

Have you ever been in a multi-vehicle accident or a high profile train / bus crash?

ROFL!!!! Definitely try Goliath but only in the front row. It really is crazy spine smashing rough elsewhere. The initial pull back and just hanging staring at the ground in the front is just intense.

They now let you choose your seat on Cyclone and Superman will likely be the same without VR. It's pretty much confirmed that Mind Eraser will have VR so that is going to be catastrophic. But atleast it's not on Superman so I don't really care. Goliath was my second favorite in the park with the old train, now it's #1 on my worst coaster list, stay away unless you need the credit.

In my opinion, the initial release after the pull back is one of the most exhilarating feelings i've had on a coaster. Being in the front going up the second tower is a bit creepy too as you feel you're never going to stop. But the rest of the coaster is just typical boomerang style where you may or may not survive without a headache.

If you are going with a FP, you will definitely be able to do everything you want. Especially that early in the season. Typically wont be too busy in the first place. I had a gold FP last year, mid September when the park was slammed, and we were able to get on everything we wanted multiple times no problem at all. Even though Superman had a 2+ hour wait, so our flash pass gave us a ride in about an hour so we slotted in right after lunch and it worked perfectly. And as the day went on Superman waits went down so rerides weren't much of an issue. Enjoy SFNE.

I miss having a GIB at my home park of SFOG so I was crazy excited to ride Goliath when I visited SFNE. I still absolutely love the ride and while the new trains look good and are more functional, I have to admit the ride experience is harsh even in the front. I still rode it a lot but if I did 3 times in a row my body was having trouble handling it. Most of the pain is from vertical jackhammering of the spine and then I was feeling it on the back of my legs where they were hitting the sharp edge of the seat.

I'll still take a GIB with new trains over no GIB at all! I'm curious if the newer generation of these are any better. If the reliability and ride experience were improved they would still be great additions to North American parks.

I'm the friendliest guy on the planet but the wicked cyclone groupers (and rest of the staff at the ride) were brutal one time we went. Even if the grouper lets you pick when we asked nicely, the rest of the staff will scoff at you and tell you to move down (which is somewhat understandable because now everyone else will feel they can pick where they want). The flash passes made it tough to get the back (even when we politely mentioned we got the front car 4 times in a row and we suggested letting the regular queue go and just throw us on the tail end therefore still loading the station from front to back and nobody was behind us on flash pass, but they still didn't get it -- we never got mad or angry or fought with them but it just didn't make sense to us), but at least on the regular line you can have people go in front of you at the bottom of the stairs and count things out yourself. It's a little ridiculous we had to do that but we eventually got near the back.

I should note we didn't have issues asking at other rides at SFNE, though... much like any other park we've been to. (minus Fury which was the only other exception when one grouper in particular that instead of saying no, just liked to yell at everyone for even asking... not just us but people who wanted to wait for the front)

^ Fury was terrible too with seating, but that crew moves ridiculously fast so I can look past it. If they took time to take seating requests, they may not be able to pump trains out as quickly as they did.

Meanwhile SFNE still stacks even with the assigned seating. Except non-VR Superman was extremely fast at the end of the year since the crew was probably used to VR and non-VR is a cakewalk by comparison.

Someone on SFNE Online just posted a pretty cool update with some drone photos from last weekend. Here are just a few highlights of the Joker construction site but they have a lot more over there. They're claiming that they didn't fly the drone over Six Flags property, and based on the images this seems to be an accurate statement.

I'm envious that SFNE doesn't have two sets of coasters next to each other that are the same colors (Batman/Nitro, Ka/GL).

In fact, I dig all of their coaster colors.
