Great thread Mark, these are really awesome.

I'll do my extremely small collection (including that Gravity Group one you asked about in the Gravitycast thread) in one post because it's really not worth doing in multiple. I think I have a couple more, but these were the ones that were right at the top of my box of crap. I'll post some more if I find them, and will try to start buying some.

This one was made by Sue (I believe) for one of the offseason tours, so I guess it's somewhat 'rare'.

Both of the Kennywood ones have the same back.

Kennywood. My sister was yelling at me to get off her computer (the one with the scanner) so I rushed so it isn't very square.

I too agree with you coasterfreaky that the B&K airplane rides were better looking than their European designed siblings. Something about all that open steel lattice forming the tower used to make me all giddy inside.

Makes me giddy too .

You've probably seen this video before, but here's a few seconds of the Barnstormer in action...among other rides.

Brings a tear to my eye.

SFNERules...awesome postcards. I really like the Gravity Group one! Quite a collector's item there. Thanks for sharing all of those great cards with us.

coasterfreaky...I actually had not ever seen that OL vid. What a great find from Shane's collection no less! It's so good to see The Barnstormer in action as well as the Intamin Screamin' Delta Demon bobsled. Love the Flock of Seagulls music too.

Shane can you elaborate any about the making of that vid?

WOW another great addition Shane! I love seeing these especially rare cards (notice how the back says Six Flags Over Mid-America). My memory may be incorrect, but I think it was located where BTR is now.

I was able to ride this awesome Schwarzkopf coaster both at SFOMA in 1982 and again when it was moved to SFAW where a tunnel was added to the first drop and it was renamed Viper. I found it still running great on SFAW's closing weekend 3 years ago, and it's too bad it got trashed. It would've made a great addition to any park. According to RCDB, there are only 5 Looping Stars left operating today.

Yes the JetScream was originally located where Batman stands today. I know I have a "Viper" postcard somewhere, but until I can find it, here is my daily contribution.

This ride is the "cat's meow" and when it first opened they actually ran 5 trains on the ride!!!! At times one train would actually thread the loop while the other circled the loop. It was the coolest thing to see.

I certainly had no idea that Revo could thread the loop while another train inverted. Awesome!

After this summer's return to form on the train paint colors, here's hoping Jay Thomas can get rid of the OTSR's on it next.

Nice colored pencil work on Bloop by the way.

Here's another post card of "The Great American Revolution" You can clearly see three trains operating out on the ride, there is probablly one in the station and one in the holding brakes. Now that the way to run a ride!

With autumn arriving this past week, it's time to say goodbye to summer with a sunset like view over one of my *very* favorite places on earth, Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. Vamp out!

Starting next week is the exclusive "Postcard SCAREadise" series!

I've got a good one for the start of this new week. Here is a coaster you don't see everyday. It is that NAD woodie down in Mexico City.

I'll be down there the end of October and maybe I can pick up a new post card as well as a parasite!

As a postcard collector myself, I'm really enjoying this thread. If Mark doesn't mind another contributor, I'll share a few of mine. Some I've bought on my own travels, some I've inherited from other coaster enthusiasts, and some I've bought from post card sellers. I'll start with one of my faves.

I'm glad you enjoyed it. To be honest, I had forgotten about several of the older ones I have until I found this post and dusted off my own collection. I've been spending some time scanning since...

Here's another I had never heard of:

didn't "safety coaster" imply the use of upstop wheels? seems like this is too early for that.

Well, I just dug through my box of Theme Park Goodies and found a post card of the Haunted Mansion I just bought recently at an Antique store here in town.

Its really cool to see the bright colors of the Mansion, and size of the trees that surround it! Anywho, Enjoy!

Here's an odd one. Wish I could have ridden it when it was in the US (or when I was in the UK). Was this thing scrapped? Or is it still sitting at Flamingoland SBNO?

wiener2b.jpg.b8c497221dbc38b1e052d770ac899578.jpg

If by "built" they mean "shipped to the US and re-assembled", then yeah, I guess...

Flamingoland had the ride until the end the 2005 season when it got replaced by the Vekoma SLC which sits on the site that Wiener Looping/Bullt used to have. The park isn't the same without it and Drier Looping/Magnum Force.

As for the ride, I've not heard much about it since it left the park. Would be nice to hear what's going on with it, or whether it still exists.

Some absolutely fantastic contributions today guys. Thanks!

^^ I would've loved to have ridden Wiener Looping. It's always fascinated me.

^^^ Shane (or anyone)...can you verify what the Schwarzkopf looping coaster is in the background of the CNE postcard? It looks a bit like Doppel-Looping from the catalog you shared with us.

^^^^ Great view of the Haunted Mansion Ryan!
