spacemtfan
NOTE: I actually searched the whole thread and nothing popped up. So if this was a copy of another thread, then I wouldn't know because it didn't show up in the search. Anyway, this is for you 90's people out there... (WARNING: Ranting ahead) Ah the 90's...back when Crash Bandicoot and Spyro had good games, back to when Horizons at EPCOT was still open, back to when rap music was actually...you know...good, back to when MTV wasn't a sister to BET. I can just imagine having a hard time choosing between Goof Toop on Disney Channel, Rugrats on Nicklodean, or Dexter's Lab on Cartoon Network. On MTV, they had some actual music and funny stuff like Beavis and Butt-head and Jack@$$. Now enter the year 2000...Horizons is gone, Crash and Spyro games are now crap (to me), MTV is nothing but dumb reality shows, and we have dumb, unimaginative cartoons/shows like Chowder, Flapjack, Gym Partner's a Monkey, and iCarly (all of which totally suck). I miss the 90's. A lot of the shows that I grew up with are now brutually murdered, and for what...to stay hip with today's kids? Back in the days, I had to constantly flip between those three channels. Now, I hardly ever watch TV anymore. (Okay, ranting is done!) So, what are some of your favorite TV shows form the 90's that are gone now?

Kalepi_Konei
I remember growing up on the Spyro games, and too me the original game is stil THE MOST AWESOME GAME EVER. As for cartoons here are a few I can remember that ruled! ---- Rugrats Angry Beavers Dexter's Lab Samurai Jack Spongebob (was cool back then, it sucks now) Rocko's Modern Life Catdog Recess The One Saturday Morning Special (where it paid to get up on Saturdays and wake up to Cartoons and some Captain Crunch cereal) Fridays (another special on Friday nights that was pretty good actually until they altered the hosts...) Kids Next Door (used to be good) Doug Hey Arnold Ren & Stimpy As Told By Ginger Animaniacs Kenan & Kel Ahhh! Real Monsters Legends Of The Hidden Temple (go SILVER MONKEYS) Slime Time Live All That Are You Afraid Of The Dark? ZOOM! The Zach Files Boy Meets World Full House Captain Planet Saved By The Bell I can sing like all the theme songs to these things, and a few things that I remember from the shows... Who remembers this "WHO LOVES ORANGE SODA?! Kel loves orange sodaaaaaaaaa!" And I remember playing the Nintendo 64 games, man those games were and still are the shiz-nit. Wes
I think people look at the stuff from their childhood with rose colored glass. I bet people who grew up in the 70's and 80's think the stuff you loved from the 90's was crap. Sorry, Wes--hit "edit" instead of "quote."

spaceace12
I remember getting up early on Saturday to watch shows like Hey dude, Clarrisa Explains it All, You can't do that on Television, and others. Now they just show stupid crap (I know kids today like them, but I think they would like those shows better).

(Except My Gym Partner's a Monkey, that show just never sat well with me.) But I, for one miss: Rugrats Rocko's Modern Life Pinky and the Brain All That! (Keenan & Kel FTW!) Homer
Why has nobody mentioned the quintessential pinnacle of Nickelodeon shows in the 90's? The Adventures of Pete & Pete, now THAT was how you did a kids show full of random humor and Artie, the strongest man in the world.

I bet people who grew up in the 70's and 80's think the stuff you loved from the 90's was crap. Ah Wes, well I respect it if people from 80's and 70's like that stuff, but I'm a 90's person (and are you happy that I searched the threads this time?). You know what was cool too, the cartoons Steven Speilberg made: Freakazoid, Animaniacs, and Pinky and the Brian. Those were some genius cartoons. The first two were very random, but I liked them. Unfortunately, stuff that was cool in the 90's aren't cool now and that just makes me cry when I go to school and mention an old cartoon and I find out that people don't even know what it is (damn current MTV). This video is 30 minutes worth of nostalgia: EDIT: Link removed. Video was deleted.
Cameron
Nothing beats Rockos Modern Life! (Except maybe the WB cartoons of the 50s..).. Anyway Spacemtfan - aren't you a little too young to be a grumpy old man?! Cameron.

Anyway Spacemtfan - aren't you a little too young to be a grumpy old man?! Cameron. Well, okay yes. Maybe I am too young to be a grumpy man, but that's the feeling I get when I ask someone about an old cartoon and it turns out they have no idea what I'm talking about. That...and I absoutely hate MTV (it brainwashed my sister and brother). You know, looking back at Rocko's Modern Life, I actually noticed a few dirty things aobut it (like Shunky and the mop). *here comes another rant... Okay, I found another video that shows 2000's cartoons. Some of the early 2000 stuff it okay, shows like: Fairly OddParents Invader Zim (don't know why it was cancelled) Life as a Teenage Robot Danny Phantom (probably the best out of all of them) Avatar: The Lost Airbender Samauri Jackfirst season of Ben 10 (not the Alien Force crap) Some episodes of What's New Scooby-Doo Sonic X (it's okay, at least the theme song is catchy) Yu-Gi-Oh (even if it was dubbed by 4Kids) Teen Titans Kim Possible Futurama (I feel like that one teenager from an episode of the Simpsons..."Why did they cancel Futurama?") Everything else pretty much is bad...also, these cartoons in bold are now cancelled or they no longer have new episodes). Oh well...I moved away from cartoons and now I am totally into anime, the only reason why I go to Cartoon Network!

Kalepi_Konei
Man, watching that 30 minutes of 90's cartoons reminds me that the intro was just as awesome as the show, if not better! It was like part of the show completely.

coastercrazed49
I also really miss the Disney Channel when they would show original Mickey Mouse cartoons, instead of all those shows like Even Steven, and Thats So Raven. Also Cartoon Network was really good when they would show Bugs Bunny Cartoons. Now that channel is mostly Anime.
spacemtfan
^ ^ To me, anime is what's keeping me to Cartoon Network. I mean Naruto, BLEACH, Death Note, Shin Chan, Pokemon, and InuYasha are way better than anything else on there.
chmilo24
Just about all the shows I loved have already been named. And I'm happy that one of the televison channels I get is the Nick Games Channel, so it has the good shows like G.U.T.S, Legend Of The Hidden Temple, and who could forget the greatest game show ever, DOUBLE DARE!!! --Chris
okinawaboy11
The original cast of All That. CatDog (Possibly 2000 or 2001? Oh well). Pretty much any of the stuff on Nickelodeon I'm sorry but I know how many people hate him, but I love Spongebob. Something about him amuses me. South Park still rocks of course. I always liked Drawn Together, but I think it got canceled.
Cameron
You know, looking back at Rocko's Modern Life, I actually noticed a few dirty things aobut it (like Shunky and the mop). A FEW?!?! The fast food place where they ate was called "Chokey Chicken"! Anyway, I'd forgotten about Invader Zim, which is fantastic. ernierocker
and Sifl and Olly!!! Yes! BYOB Kenobi. United States of Whatever. Llama School. Precious Roy. Great stuff! I wish the show never got cancelled. Although, they made some more shows, it seemed to lose the momentum that the first season had.
mcjaco
Cameron "Anyone who says 'Full House' was good, needs to be banned from TPR" Silver. That can be arranged. I didn't watch much stuff in the 90's. I miss my 80's cartoons on Saturdays. Does anyone remember the old Dungeons & Dragons cartoon? It was usually followed by Pac Man, and that terrible WWF cartoon. I was more addicted to getting up early during the school week to watch Robotech, and Voltron before classes. Moose
While y'all are reminiscing about these 90's shows, I'll stick with stuff like fraggle rock and the muppet babies (as well as the whole Disney Afternoon Block)
