televisedconfession
Neil can vouch for how rough this coaster was, because at one point we hit a bump in the track that caused my boobs to lurch into the air and hit me in the face. And I know he saw it because I immediately heard him moan, "AUGH," sympathetically on my behalf. Isn't that right, Neil? It was like your boob detached from your chest, came up to your face and slapped you because it was pissed you took them on that ride without some major sports bra or better bra support. Girls shouldn't piss their boobs off. HAHAHA. Six Flags GAdv did have one person there willing to help us. When Nitro finally opened back up, and we began to run short on time, one of the ride opps let us go in when we weren't supposed to when we complained about our CRAPP Q-BOT systems. One of my favorite moments from that day was after the first time we did El Toro. Right as we hit the final breaks, Natalie and I were left pretty much breathless as she turned to me with her frazzled hair and proclaimed: "If you weren't gay I'd kiss you right now!" I replied, "I Think I just gave birth." To all you El Toro haters who did Bolder Dash on the East Coast: suck it. Cause I freaking loved this coaster. And I swear, if that day that I finally am able to do Bolder Dash, if it in any way is not what you guys proclaim, I will slap you with Natalie's boob. GOOD DAY SIR, GOOD DAY! Great PTR! We did make the best of that day though, and through the cloudy dark bad times, we did have a ray of sunshine fun poke through.
cfc
Nothing like the coaster-over-the-bathroom shot. I love the poster of Superman squatting, obviously in deep thought, over a pile what could be mistaken for excrement (actually rocks, I guess) next to the men's room. Now that's brillant themeing. I've been to Great Adventure twice over the last couple of years and liked it each time (but agree that Ka is extremely overrated and that GASM and Rolling Thunder suck). Haven't experienced Batman in a Box yet, though.
ginzo
I've been to Great Adventure twice over the last couple of years and liked it each time (but agree that Ka is extremely overrated and that GASM and Rolling Thunder suck). Haven't experienced Batman in a Box yet, though. Yeah, my trip to SFGAdv last year was excellent. Gold Q-Bot worked flawlessly and got me all the El Toro and Nitro that I could handle. Enjoyed Medusa, Batman, Skull Mountain, and the parachute ride a lot as well. Operations were decent and all the coasters were operational for basically all of the day. There was one staple nazi on El Toro, but I worked around this by sitting on the other side of the train where the bar checker was much more lenient. The ride manager for El Toro that day was very friendly: he saw me wearing a Voyage shirt (dorktastic!) and started up a lengthy conversation with me. I can't think of any park with a better coaster selection than SFGAdv. The only real criticism I have of the place is the odd lack of flats. And there seems to be no immediate plans to correct this. Maybe we just got lucky, but we had an awesome day there and would love to go back.
BeemerBoy
The severed head below Batman is Gold! Not as in Gold QBot though....more like Run DMC gold rope chain awesomeness. Great stuff, Natalie! Now don't make us wait for a West Coast TR next year. Go find somewhere else to visit and make a TR of it. We need more entertainment like this through the offseason. U2Rox
Oh Yes!! Great trip report once again! I completely busted out laughing on that head and Batman Pic!! Great memories I have with Great Adventure. I spent two days there! One really awesome rainy day with TPR and one really perfect sunny day with a friend of mine from NY (Hi Marcos). I also have fallen in love with El Toro. So much, that ET ate my ovaries and spit em' out after being stapled in by the G-forces. It was pain that I loved. You do manage to take really amazing pics Natalie!! Thanks for posting. Can't wait to do it all over again with you guys!!

GOOD DAY SIR, GOOD DAY! Umm, I think I can speak for everybody on the East Coast, we love El Toro and we also love Boulder Dash. Why do we have to hate one if we love the other? I consider them both 10/10 coasters (I have 4 in that class), and if people prefer one over the other what's it to you anyway? They are both amazing but completely different experiences, I fully expected nothing to even come close to El Toro on the entire trip but I was wrong, I really had no expections of Dash. The sad part is they are about ruin Dash with trim brakes, so what we experienced will be never again probably.
dino
This TR brightened what was an otherwise "meh" day for me . Like BeemerBoy said though, don't make us wait till the west coast trip before we see another TR from you. As for the story of your own boob hitting you on a coaster...It only made me think, "Why can't I ever get hit by Natalie's boob when I'm on a coaster?" eBen
Despite all the bad and daft, I was gleefully happy this day. My first proper huge American park (Canada's Wonderland had an even worse selection of common rides. Also its in Canada), full of huge coasters which gave a fantastic skyline. Things like doing my first pretzel loop, watching the floor become less on Medusa, oh dear Lord I rode El Toro, rides above the tree line... that kinda thing made my day. Sorry about your foot Natalie, but I'm sure that gave you the ummppff needed to sort out our ride on Nitro
YoshiFan
If you thought Flashpass prices were bad before, the park just had a huge price increase starting this past weekend: Here are the new prices: Regular 1 person - $45 2 people - $74 3 people - $103 4 people - $132 5 people = $161 6 people - $190 Gold 1 person - $90 2 people - $144 3 people - $198 4 people - $256 5 people = $306 6 people - $360 I have found the park took some steps forward but also some backwards this year. They had multiple trains running almost all the time. I never saw Nitro run 1 train, it it only had 2 trains a few times. Almost all visits it was running 3 trains. Same with Medusa and Scream Machine. Even the smaller coasters like Skull Mountain were always running 2 trains. However only having 2 restraint checkers made 3 trains on Medusa and Scream Machine pointless and they were always stacking or double stacking. Someone mentioned the lack of flats a problem. 17 rides have been removed since 2002. There are less than 12 non coaster, non kiddie rides in the park so the coaster lines are going to be longer than ever. Maybe I picked good times to go to the park but I was able to avoid lines for the most part. Basically I love the coaster collection and that is why I went to the park 16 times so far this season but I hate everything else about the park. televisedconfession
^ I still think the prices are reasonable for what you are getting. The prices may have gone up so that they can make the same profit with having to sell less. This would make for a shorter line of flash pass users. Anyways, great update Natalie! I loved the photochopped photo (har har). I also was not that impressed with Six Flags Great Adventure. While I was blown away with El Toro, nothing else really stood out to me. Not even Nitro. Granted, it was a rainy day and operations probably weren't the best. But El Toro made the day great and I was more than pleased with it. It is definitely my #1 woodie. Yeah, Nothing really stood out to me either. Not really Nitro. I think it was the fact that after riding Behemoth, it just didn't live up to my needs. Like a crack addict's needs. That kinda thing. darienlakerules
This is a great park. RoS is awesome for a park of this size! I didn't like moto coaster too much though.
