That wooden "support" is weird, but I guess they need some way to hold it up before they get the next supported segment up.

Just checked the webcam and they are putting up the huge lift hill supports.

Its awesome that they can still be right on track days after the reminants of Ike ravaged the park! That being said, its been atleast 2 minutes...I want new construction photos!

From what I just saw, the station looks a bit longer than it has been. Maybe their starting to install the lift pieces?

So that's where the drop is going to be. I still had some problems to understand what I was looking at from those webcams.

I can't edit the picture at work to make it under 500kb, but they look to be installing the pull out of the first drop, or the entrance to the second hill right now. Big piece, too. Probably two already connected together.

Awesome pictures. Did anyone else notice that the top part of the highest lift support is tilted. Was that from Ike?

I know it's like an upside down "v" but it still looked a little titled to me.

Hey does anyone know if this is a sand-fill, or if it will have the b&m "roar"?

^ Unless the park is near any residential areas or school, it will most probably not be filled with sand,

I believe this is because it's expensive to fill the mile long track with sand.

Also, the sound of the B&M roar is amazing, is it not ?

^Yes it Is! The reason I ask, is Tatsu for example. Tatsu's Supports

are filled with sand. The box track is still hollow which makes it create a very original and unique humm. It'd be nice if this coaster had that same sound.

There must be some kid of reason the supports on Tatsu are filled with sand,

they don't usually do that by default.

Maybe they wanted Tatsu to have that particular sound.

I certainly hope Diamondback is not filled with sand. A lot of the newer B&M's have been lately and it really takes away from the first impression of the ride in person. When you walk up to a coaster and it has that roar to it, it's very intimidating and makes it seem like there is a lot of force to it. I absolutely love that roar and I hope Diamondback has it.

^On the other hand, the roar can get a bit annoying, especially after waiting in a queue for 1/2 hour right around the thing. Wicked Twister's scream and Face/Off's noises come to mind.

 

Though I readily admit that neither of those are B&M roars, and that the Beemer version gets old far, far slower than those other ones. I don't personally mind the roar much, though I know people who don't like it (particularly Mantis), and can understand it.

I think the reason why I love the roar so much is because my home park is Dorney Park. Their B&M's are filled with sand, so they don't have it. When I visit a park that has B&M's with the roar it makes it that much better since I don't hear it very often. I also enjoy listening to Voodoo's launch which I'm pretty sure sounds the same as Wicked Twister's. Maybe I'm the weird one cause I know a lot of people don't like that "scream" the launch has.
