PKIDelirium Posted September 5, 2008 Posted September 5, 2008 BIG crane has arrived, and another support is up. Yup, it's big. Big-ass crane and a new support BIG-ASS crane
SFOGdude25 Posted September 5, 2008 Posted September 5, 2008 Methinks the lift hill is going up next (yay obvious statements lol). Great to see construction coming along nicely.
jamesdillaman Posted September 5, 2008 Posted September 5, 2008 JZ, can you go to the park this weekend and get some better pictures of that crane from the Eifel Tower, or are you too busy? I'd love to see more than just the boom...
Reon Posted September 5, 2008 Posted September 5, 2008 Yeah. I'd love to see more angles. The webcam is horrible in the lift area, and won't show anything further than the station. From my pov, the area hasn't changes in 3 weeks.

fergusonat Posted September 5, 2008 Posted September 5, 2008 I'm liking the dark red track/yellow supports combo
Reon Posted September 5, 2008 Posted September 5, 2008 Webcam shows some supports getting moved by the train. I think their just putting up supports in general now.

PKIDelirium Posted September 5, 2008 Posted September 5, 2008 Curious about that support by the train tracks being yellow, the rendering shows it (the start of the climb up the second hill) being gray, with the last yellow support being at the start of the first drop. Hmm, all those are GRAY in the rendering...
jamesdillaman Posted September 5, 2008 Posted September 5, 2008 ^ Well it IS just a rendering after all. I'm sure it's a pretty accurate representation of the ride, colors in the rendering aren't a huge deal, especially support colors and where exactly they change, although that is interesting... -James Dillaman

Just when I thought the nitpicking was out, they pull it back in. And I will argue that those supports aren't gray. They're beige or tan.
PKIDelirium Posted September 6, 2008 Posted September 6, 2008 Webcam screwed up and showed a blurry view that shows the base of the crane.
PKIDelirium Posted September 7, 2008 Posted September 7, 2008 MAJOR new progress! All photos from today are here: http://www.kiextreme.com/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=345 First supports installed in the ravine. Nearing the bottom of the second hill, and a low support for the return run. Starting up the second hill Bottom of the first drop support Big-ass crane
matteocrepaldi Posted September 7, 2008 Posted September 7, 2008 I was wondering... is there any particular reason why they haven't started to build lift hill?
Jive Posted September 7, 2008 Posted September 7, 2008 They were probably waiting for the big ass crane to arrive.
Evan1127 Posted September 7, 2008 Posted September 7, 2008 I also haven't seen the track piece for the base of the lift in any of the staging areas from any of the photos that have been taken recently. That piece should be pretty bulky.
PKI Jizzman Posted September 7, 2008 Posted September 7, 2008 There were some pieces of track in the employee overflow lot....I got some pics and have them a hug Very bulky.
yankees15 Posted September 7, 2008 Posted September 7, 2008 Very nice update! I can't wait to see how massive this coaster will look over the park.
matteocrepaldi Posted September 8, 2008 Posted September 8, 2008 From the webcams it looks like that the new crane is arrived on site. Hopefully we'll see that lift up soon. Big a$$ crane on site!
PKI Jizzman Posted September 8, 2008 Posted September 8, 2008 Wow, my camera phone is pretty nice! (Samsung M520) "Desc.: Track Element" Noted! But wait, there's more! All for me This totally made my day hehe. See ya next update everyone! -JZ
matteocrepaldi Posted September 9, 2008 Posted September 9, 2008 Is the weight expressed in pounds or kilograms? Nice photos btw.
TPDave Posted September 9, 2008 Posted September 9, 2008 even though it's a european comany, the order is in the states (and the track fabricated there) so I would ssume pounds. It also seems a bit much for a single track piece to weigh 8 tonnes given that the box section track is hollow.
