Kings Island (KI) Discussion Thread

P. 835: The Beast re-tracking effort announced!

It's going pretty well as far I've been observing. This week is HH set up week. Brake run is up, the turn around into the station and even station track is up, and about one more to go before that are completely done with the end/station of the ride. I'm just surprised how high up the brake run is, then how low the station is to the ground. It's eye level from the little media anouncement area.

I don't know about all track work going up before the season ends, but the ooriginalplan I heard was getting big, major parts of track work up by winter.

Though the model is off in a few parts...yeah, it's awesome. It's had the biggest crowd at KI in the last couple of days!

Looks like its going to be an awsome coaster. If I look at the layout and the stats, I wonder wich coaster is better.

Behemoht our Diamondback.

Diamondback has a very nice landscape and an twisting layout. Wich layout do you guys think is better?

^ To be fair, both will have to be ridden before an accurate comparison can be made... Right now, I'd say Behemoth, because it's much better riding a coaster than watching one being built. After Diamondback is finished, and you can actually ride it, who knows?

^ I always base it on how green the "grass" is in the POV. And if they include any scenery from within the park, like the Voyage in the background of the Pilgrim's Plunge POV, that gets extra bonus points.

(laughed and couldn't type for a couple minutes) Ok, you win. Good one my friend.

Looking forward to seeing this one in person in the coming years.

That webcam is driving me CRAZY! They've put up another lifthill support, but you can only see the shadow. (I know this makes me sound like an obsessed geek, but I sure wish they'd widen the view on that thing. Yeesh!)

^ No you seem like a well put together person... Only if you skip meals because you don't want to miss the new foreman confronting a worker who is constantly sleeping on webcam... THAT would make you obsessed.

It looks like this will be another steep lift. There isn't that much space between those supports, but the hight difference is pretty great. This ride is going to look quite impressive when it's finished.

The yellow supports on the lift hill remind me all of the world of how Silver Bullet at Knott's has red lift supports and the rest of the track is silver/grey.

This looks to be one of the best new coasters for next year. Although I think it would have been awesome for Knott's to make the room for and get something like this, but I think KI really needs it a lot more!

I forget what the guy told me...but the rest are the brownish color to blend in the the woods/trees. I guess they really want this coaster be very intimidating and visible when you look up at that 230ft lift hill!
