Kings Island (KI) Discussion Thread

p. 832: Camp Snoopy announced for 2024!

Recommended Posts

I used to really enjoy reading this thread until it became littered with unfounded rumors and not even close to funny fake pictures altered with Microsoft Paint of all programs in the world. Not anymore...

In other news, I'm really liking how much detail Kings Island/Cedar Fair are putting into this ride. From the looks of the station, front sign, and decorated walkways this is really looking like an excellent installation. (On time too! hehe) For a park that is not Disney, Universal, Busch, or many Herschend properties, Kings Island appears to have done a fantastic job. I can't wait to see Banshee and this section of Action Zone in person.

^Well, that was hurtful, saying that because of a certain age, all you can expect is nonsense.

So are you admitting that you made that picture up just to get people talking or what? I know that you put out a fake Carowinds map cover a while back that was clearly made in Paint. At least say it's not real if you were the one who made that.

On another note, I definitely agree that the entrance looks really good!

In case anyone was still wondering if the tweet was real or not, its 100% not. The file name is "stupid_tweet.jpg".

- Not on the parks twitter

- Format is wrong

- Wrong Font

- Heres proof: Real KI tweet on top, fake KI tweet on bottom.

That settles that.

From here on out lets try and keep to the real topics at hand like how great the entrance plaza looks!

So much controversy over my FAKE TWEET. A guy makes one joke about Diamondback and everyone gets mad. Sheesh.

I do like Banshee's sign. Cedar Fair put a lot of themeing into this. I hope this is part of Quimet's plan to make Cedar Fair more colorful and entertaining. I hope this is an ongoing trend.

It's not that we don't like humor or anything, but you have to remember that it is very difficult to detect Internet sarcasm. Also, editing an official tweet can look very real (not saying it did), and without claiming it to be fake, will generally make people (including Cedar Fair, if they saw it) unhappy with you.

We wouldn't get upset if it was just one time, but you've made such things tons and tons of times. And you've been asked to stop ever since the first fake picture. Please stop with MS Paint and fake pictures thanks!

I will seriously be bummed if Diamondback got seatbelts. I don't believe it will kill the ride if it does; but c'mon how are you supposed to float out of your seat if there's a seatbelt holding you tight? But I wouldn't put it past Cedar Fair to get a break on insurance or something. It's all about saving nickels and pennies.

El Toro has seatbelts and it has more airtime than any B&M ride can ever dream of having. Seatbelts aren't really a concern for me, even if they are added which I doubt they will be all it will impact will be the dispatch times.

You shouldn't be making fake tweets at all. It makes you look bad, and to the people that believe the tweet it makes the park look bad as well.

I don't know about you guys, but i'm about to jump out of my skin. I'm SO EXCITED for media day. Not just for Banshee, just to ride a coaster since it's been since October and this winter was as brutal as any i can remember. Twelve more days.....uuuggghhh.

Agreed! Last time I rode a coaster was in September I'm so excited to get back into the swing of park season!

Best part of the ride is the great floater air. One of my favorite B&M hypers for that very reason.

Why does everyone seem to believe seatbelts limit the amount of airtime on a ride? I have been on so many rides with seatbelts and they still have amazing airtime (Outlaw Run, American Thunder, The Voyage, etc.).

^Because if the seatbelt is snug around you, you won't get as much airtime. With a B&M clamshell restraint, there's usually a little bit of wiggle room in between clicks.

Not only that, but they will dispatch with the clamshell in the minimum safe position (I think it's 3 clicks), even if it could come down another click, giving you plenty of extra room to float on the hills. And (at least for me and my body shape), with the way the clamshell is designed, I know there's no possible way I have to worry about coming out of the restraints, even with it not all the way tight. I feel like seatbelts might not have that extra degree of freedom. The sensation of floating between your seat and the clamshell is what makes it so fun.
