P. 835: The Beast re-tracking effort announced!

Recommended Posts

Wasn't expecting to see any more track put up until after New Years. Love that drop into the valley!

Why? The track is supposed to be completed by the end of Jan. Even though that isn't very likely. They say there on schedule. They haven't added like any track in almost 2 months!!

I just figured it's been awhile since they have done anything, plus with the holidays coming up that they would hold off on any major track work just a little longer. Come back from the holidays rested and ready to knock out the rest of the coaster. I'm not complaining though! I love seeing more track put in place. I have missed the speed of progress they started out with though.

Not about Banshee, but isn't Drop Tower getting down to its last operating years? I mean it will be 20 in 4 years! I think a S&S triple launch tower would look sleek in its place * WOW. That means I will be 20 in 4 years!!!

But, you're 14. In 4 years, you'll be 18...

Yeah...

19. I thought Drop tower was opened later. I turn 15 in Jan.

An S&S Combo tower like Superman: Tower of Power (the one pictured) would be a HUGE step down. I've ridden S:TOP, and I like it, but it really isn't anything special. It's not very intense. The launch upward is exciting, but that's about it. It's practically an open elevator after that. I prefer SCREAM! at SFFT over Superman actually; it's half the height but far more intense. The launch, airtime, drop, it's all exhilarating. I love it.

On a Banshee note, wow. This coaster is looking absolutely stunning. Very nice color scheme, layout is excellent. I really like how B&M has started leaning away from the loop as the first element and has started doing the diving loop first. I really liked it on Oziris and Now it looks incredible on Banshee! This is sure to be an interesting project when it is finished!

I know this might be just a small technical detail but is it a batwing or a pretzel loop? If it is a pretzel, what's the difference between a batwing and this, because the only one I can tell is the fact that the entry and exit cross over each other when, typically, they don't. still, I think it looks more like a batwing than the pretzels we usually see on flying coasters.

Batwing. Pretzel loops are like Superman Ultimate Flight's main inversion.

^At 19 you'll still be almost dead. I put 5 kids through college and was retired before I was 19.

What have you done with your life thus far?

Made....my......day. Thanks Guy!

And In regards to Banshee: looks fantastic. My prediction, it will be fast, but not as "forceful" as the old-school inverts. I think it will be a ton of fun - but the transitions are just going to be smoother than they used to be.

This is only an opinion, by the way so there is no need to send me all of the reasons I am wrong please.

Thank you sir. Now, I must confess, I did have breeding on my side, and was born into fortunate circumstances. I was able to do my internship in utero, and my residency in diapers. But everything after that I attribute to hard work and determination. It's tough to be the CEO of a privately owned company and potty train at the same time. But I managed, and look where I am now. Living the life only a select few can achieve.

Oh, and I agree 100% on your assessment of Banshee. I will definitely be taking the Great Great Grandkids up there to ride as soon as they finish this thing. Those slackers. It would have been done and opened 3 days after it was announced had I been in charge. But I have to wait another 5 months like everyone else. Fortunately like the Elves of Erabor, I have been blessed with long life. Meh, in the meantime, I'll just solve world peace, cure cancer, end hunger and homelessness, explore Mars for third time, and take a well deserved hour of vacation.

The more I look at this the more I think there's absolutely no way this thing is going to be forceful. Every element is long and drawn out. It looks like it's going to be fun (I'm actually a fan of some of the "less intense" inverts like Silver Bullet even though other inverts are much better) but I can't see this on the same level as rides like Batman and Raptor.

Then again, you never know until you ride it.

Can we all just stfu on the forceful comments until we ride it? It's like arguing about how fast and fun a car will be by looking at its specifications. (trust me, it doesn't work)

Go back to bitching about the color, if you want to cry about something that you can actually judge at this time.
