Skramp 0
I think the reference to The Bat is this.....in it's time, the Bat was a record-breaking if not record setting inverted coaster as it was pretty much the first of it's kind, and now KI is going to introduce a new record-breaking inverted coaster to the world. I don't think it has anything to do with the name, I think it's just a reference to it's place in history. That being said, I wouldn't be against "The Bat's Revenge," "Son of a Bat," or even the original "The Bat" as a name. Just keep watching the trademark page for the next few days to see if anything new pops up under Cedar Fair.
cmullin 0
Whatever this coaster is going to be, it's going to be amazing! Especially since Cedar Fair doesn't disappoint like Six Flags does. Let's not get TOO hyped up, for Christ's sake their big record breaking announcement last year was the world tallest and largest animitronic dinosaur! Yeah, but we know it's going to be a coaster, so it can't be that bad. For all we know it could be almost any B&M coaster, from a giga to an invert.
disneygurlz2s 0
The silver comb with silver hair would make no sense for a Bat themed coaster...but makes perfect sense for Banshee. "In some accounts she is seen combing her hair as she laments. She is heard more often than seen, wailing as she approaches the abode in the late evening or early morning, sometimes perching on the windowsill two to three hours or even days before a death. As she moves off into the darkness witnesses describe a fluttering sound, such as the sound made by birds flying at night. Hence, the mistaken belief that banshees manifest as birds such as the crow." I can't believe I am jumping in on all this speculation, especially after Chuck's answer which nearly made me pee my pants, but..... if you have followed the "clues" at the park and Twitter, there's that owl in the tree, the scarecrows and now the comb. Banshee it is!!!
Subject_12 0
Could it be the SBNO Led Zeppelin/Time machine?
Brassinthegrass 0
Nah, if it was, we would have already seen it coming down...
coasterdude2011 0
I think it'll be revolving around a bird of some sort. Particularly maybe the owl, I know they are obvious clues, but scarecrows scare away birds and there are owls in the trees around there.
adavis 0
Could it be the SBNO Led Zeppelin/Time machine? Oh, that would just be hilarious! I mean, I'd be bummed, but that would be freaking incredible.
John Peck 0
No, it's not Led Zep. The footers don't match
JJLehto 2
Ah yeah! Can't wait for the news. I always thought a giga would be cool, there's a huge amount of space there.
Fahrenheit1221 0
Silver track, blue supports. Looks nice.

Locostitch 0
Maybe we are looking at it wrong. The dual footers could be for a racing coaster. Maybe a racing giga. First of its kind and a world record
LoopScreweD 0
it'll be record breaking alright how About this a giant billboard facing up that is visible from space advertising Gatekeeper!

Skramp 0
Credit to oldiesman on kicentral I wouldn't read too much into that picture. That's the area out by their greenhouse area so it could be anything from planting flowers, trees or whatever. KI has an in house horticulture staff and they grow most of their own stuff that is planted around the park and take care of everything. Also, could just be people training on how to use the equipment.

ECZenith 0
Where did you see silver track?
Fahrenheit1221 0
Where did you see silver track? I just put 2 and 2 together. Silver and blue are the only colors featured on the announcements. The blue supports are already spotted. The silver comb was a dead giveaway. The ride is going to have the same color scheme as Afterburn.
ECZenith 0
If that turns out to be true it would be an attractive color scheme, I love the look of Afterburn, and the ride in general.
2012jarrett 0
Silver and blue? I wouldn't mind if that was right. Afterburn's a beautiful coaster and my second favorite invert, I wouldn't mind this one looking like it. However, if it carries the Banshee name, I would prefer either very light teal track (which could give I more of a spectral appearance) or darker charcoal gray track. Dark charcoal gray and blue would look great IMO.
TyRush 0
Yeah i agree that looks to be the colors. In that fuzzy photo of the piano the bottom looks silver/white with the top blue
Coaster_Fanatic 0
I thought black track with blue supports would look unique, since there aren't many, if ANY, coasters with that color scheme. Looking forward to the announcement in a week! I'm extremely anxious to find out what Kings Island has in store!
PhantomNick 0
I am admittedly very intrigued/excited for this announcement. I'm really hoping that it ends up being an invert, as those have always been a favorite coaster type of mine. We really liked Kings Island during our lone visit to the park in 2009, and we felt like they had several coasters I would classify as "good" or even "very good". But, I did kind of feel like the park needed 1 more true standout coaster in their lineup. For me, the only one that I thought fit that bill was Diamondback. I know some folks aren't huge fans of it, but in my opinion it is a fantastic hyper. (I think my wife would have liked it more had we not come to a screeching halt on the MCBR, where we stayed for about 10-15 minutes......which is the one thing she worries about when riding! ) And shoot, if they ended up building a taller/faster version of Afterburn at Carowinds, I'd be in heaven! That one is my current favorite invert, just edging out Talon at Dorney. Looking forward to the 8th!
