Incase you guys missed this. Should be a crazy weekend at the Dome. I mean, $12.95 for a all-day ride pass? That's crazy cheap.

Cupcakes, confetti and clowns will abound as The Adventuredome at Circus Circus prepares to turn 20 years young on August 23.

To mark the milestone, one of America’s largest indoor theme parks will host a month-long celebration that will include special pricing, commemorative gifts and a birthday party in true circus style.

Beginning July 29 guests are invited to submit their favorite park photo memory to The Adventuredome’s Facebook page for a chance to win a staycation prize package including:

-Two-night stay in a newly remodeled Casino Tower guest room

-$50 dining credit for the Garden Grill or Blue Iguana

-Family four-pack to The Adventuredome

Thursday, August 22

-Throwback Thursday with 1993 opening day prices for all-day ride passes; $12.95 (Premium: 48 inches or taller) and $8.95 (Junior: 33-48 inches tall) for savings of $15 and $8 respectively

-Free commemorative button with the purchase of an all-day ride pass

-Free T-shirt and birthday hat to the first 50 guests purchasing an all-day ride pass

-Join the entertaining Circus Circus clowns at 11 a.m. to sing “Happy Birthday” around a special cupcake tower and salute the confetti cannon as it fires off in celebration

-Guests are invited to enjoy sweet cupcake treats while supplies last

-Enjoy $20 meal deals at the Main Snack Bar where guests can choose one of the following:

---One 16-inch cheese pizza and two medium soft drinks

---Two cheeseburgers with one large order of fries and two large soft drinks

Friday, August 23 Sunday, August 25

-Premium (48 inches or taller) all-day ride passes for only $20; Junior (33-48 inches tall) all-day ride passes stay the same at $16.95

-Free commemorative button with the purchase of an all-day ride pass

-$20 meal deals at the Main Snack Bar

The five-acre, family favorite opened in 1993 with four major attractions and has grown to 25 rides and attractions 20 years later. The Adventuredome is a hit with guests of all ages, especially during summer months when the park maintains a constant temperature of 72 degrees.

“I’ve had the privilege of watching thousands of families enjoy this thrilling theme park for the past 20 years, and I can’t wait to see what the next 20 has in store for us,” said Tom Nolan, vice president of attractions operations at Circus Circus.

Along with celebrating the past, The Adventuredome is looking ahead to the future with the addition of the El Loco roller coaster. This gravity-defying attraction will take coaster enthusiasts on the ride of their lives with negative G drops and heart-pumping twists and turns. El Loco will become part of The Adventuredome family this December.

I'm looking forward to my trip there the end of the year. I hope the Adventuredome is not too busy since it looks like we'll be there right around New Year's Eve. I do need to get our schedule finalized. Fortunately the Circus Circus campground still has a lot of sites available so that sounds promising. I would think the majority of people in Vegas for New Year's Eve wouldn't be there for the coasters and amusement park.

From Screamscape.com

The latest buzz oozing out of the Frightdome is that it will have a special 6th maze this year that will be a little different than the rest. It is called Hotel Argento and will not be included with general admission, but instead will be exclusive to guests who purchase the FastPass style ticket option letting them skip the lines at the other mazes.

I’m told that thos who opt to experience Hotel Argento will have to do so... ALONE. No guide, no friends... just you, all by yourself... alone in the dark. I’m told that previously Frightdome has always been limited to having only 5 haunts each year due to space issues, but Hotel Argento will be built in an all new secret location.

Sounds interesting! Anyone thinking the haunt could be going through the layout of the old water ride maybe?

Hi everyone! Here with a quick update at the Adventuredome! Grand Slam Canyon aka The Adventuredome recently celebrated their 20th anniversary of being in operation! Now that school has started up once again the Adventuredome is operating at their seasonally reduced hours of operation. With that being said, it gives construction crews more time to continue construction on El Loco. I can now report that many of the footers have been poured and are curing. Some still need to be poured but I anticipate vertical construction very soon! Rim Runner's old control panel and operating booth has been removed as has all of the queue railings in the station. Things should get real exciting soon! Enjoy the photos!

On a side note Fright Dome construction is in full swing. Looking forward to it this year!

Good to see that El Loco is having the new S+S cars with the Lap Bars. Green Lantern's lap bars and seats are some of the most comfortable seats i've ever sat in on a roller coaster. Will be interesting to see if they have fixed the onboard audio issues with this ride (if it has them) compared to Green Lantern.

Yay! I have finalized our plans and made reservations at the KOA beside the Adventuredome for New Year's Eve. I made my reservation early enough so I was able to get an upgraded site with 'real or artificial grass "yard" with trees and/or a shade structure.' That night should prove to be quite an adventure. Hopefully El Loco will be running by then.
