I was made aware early on that tickets aren't included in the hotel fares, which is pretty cheap considering how costly the hotels are.

I hear they extend the opening times if the park gets crowded enough. Is this a common occurrence or does the park need to be really packed in order for that to happen?

It really needs some crowds to have it longer open (at least 30 min lines needed) and if they let it longer open, then only half an hour or an hour. Expected if it is really crowded, what wouldn't happen this time you are there on a weekday.

Funny story. I once bought a book called "Just enough Scandinavian" which was basically a travel language book for Danish, Norwegian, and Swedish. The intro to the book stated "Most people in these co

Don't worry about it seeming rude to not know the language, nobody in Europe thinks that. We have so many different languages here in Europe so nobody can expect everyone to know all of them  I for ex

From what I can find France doesn't have their summer break until early and Germany late July and there are no public holidays in early June. I was wondering how crowds would look on a typical June weekday.

Summer Break in Germany varies by State, some States start in mid June while others at the end of July. Either way, if you go early June, school will be still in session.

That's correct, but these are all states in the north/east part of Germany. And Europapark is located in the south west. Everything till calendar week 25 is fine in June.

This is not correct. The park guarantees opening hours until 6pm (in july and August 7pm) and usually extends the opening every day. On slow days 30min, on more busy days up to 2-3 hours depending on the amount of visitors in the park.

Concerning this Weekend, it should be okay. Enjoy!

^^Those are ambitious plans that while I wouldn't be convinced they'd pan out at many other parks, I'm convinced they'll happen and be high quality at Europa Park when they are executed. This park continues to sit at the top of my list of European parks to visit whenever I get out there for another coaster trip.

Something other: I've recently saw on Facebook that they will be doing the VR with Pegasus too.

I love Pegasus and I'm really surprised more park haven't purchased Mack YoungStar's. Im personally not sold on any of this VR stuff, it doesn't appeal to me one bit. That being said the more rides Mack install this on the more they can refine their system and develop it which is never a bad thing.

^I'm skeptical of VR as well, have tried a few demos and while the tech is impressive it doesn't seem like something I'd like to use for an extended period of time. But I'm keen to check this out next time I visit Europa, at least for the novelty factor.

^Like the park even had to try to be more Elissa Friendly!?!?

Perhaps by providing free raclette while you wait for the train?

Maybe they will change the name to "Elissa Park" next.

I really hope I win the lottery tonight so I can get back to Europa as soon as possible once Ireland opens and compare it to the real Ireland.

^ Yeah, and I've missed it, on two separate visits there.

(Cheese Rawks!)

I have never had this type of cheese, so I am going to have to see if they sell it at Wegmans the next time I go there. They have a wonderful artisan cheese department, so I am hoping that they will carry this!
