Coaster Palooza
This is a great TR! I wish we would have been able to go to this event. Thanks so much for sharing. Maybe next year we'll do this, if they have it again. BTW, how many people attended the event? It didn't look too crowded.
mlambert21
78 people was final count.
coasterfreak80
^ Thank you, Matt, for confirming the number of attendees. It sure didn't seem like 78 people though!

RCFreak
Man I really need to get out of this side of the country! Looks like a great time was had, and Dollywood is quickly climbing on the list of parks I really want to experience, and not just credit run. Looks like a great time was had, and Dollywood is quickly climbing on the list of parks I really want to experience, and not just credit run. "Not just credit run"...very true! We found Dollywood to be so much more than just a handful of coasters (although amazing as they are). There is so much to see and do here. if you even remotely like anything country, you will love this park!
krazekiddd
Great photos and guys! I love Dollywood for its style and scenery. I was really surprised when I first went last Decemeber as I didn't really know much abuot the park. I hope to go back next time I decide to see my family in Atlanta. Dleo
Thanks for sharing your pictures! Love all the porn shots... lol. I can only imagine what it would be like to walk coaster track. I perceive it to just be a strange experience for some reason... like knowing "hey, i shouldn't be here". I would be a bit paranoid I think. I might have to start planning to visit Dolly myself too. coastercrazed49
^From most people you will talk to they will say yes. It has a great combination of rides and entertainment. It has a really nice setting too. You should definitely stop if you are in Tennessee. BTW Great pictures, looks like a fun event to participate in. chmilo24
^Thanks. I've never been to Dollywood either, but it looks really cool. I'm hoping I can make it in about a year or so. Oh, and thanks for all the hardcore coaster porn shots. I really had to break out the lotion for those.

RenegadeFan
Nice pictures. I've always wanted to go to Dollywood. I go down to Arkansas every year, but some time in the future I need to beg them to go east so I can drop by there. I got to go behind-the-scenes once at Valleyfair for Renegade, but I didn't get to stand on the track. I did get to stand on the other side of the fence between the foot high grass and the coaster. Pays to email the park only 18 hours in advanced!
Kennyweird
Looks like you had fun. I hope to someday visit Dollywood. Dollywood's a pretty cool park for allowing you to go behind the scenes of their star attractions. Kudos for them.
bloodfalls
You lucky, lucky people! I'm so jealous. We were at Dollywood shortly after you, I think (8th June). It was HOT! Mystery Mine and Thunderhead were superb: Thunderhead is still my #1 woodie now, in spite of riding Voyage and El Toro. The latter are incredible, but they are brain-shakers (especially Voyage), whereas Thunderhead just floats around the whole circuit every time. It's wonderful! I also loved Tennessee Tornado - a pleasant surprise, that was. The park was the best of all the 16 we visited on our trip, with friendly and courteous staff and excellent ride operation. A massive thumbs-up: hooray for Dollywood!

What you see outside is grey boring grey not cool looking rusty cool looking track! It would have looked so much better! Ok I had to get it out! tuxedomask5432
I have the possibility to go to Dollywood next monday the 21st of July!! I've been nerdin' it up, looking at pics and videos. I really liked your trip report alot. I'm very excited about riding the coasters at this park, especially as I haven't ridden a decent wooden coaster since the Giant Dipper at Belmont Park in San Diego. I also love Arrow loopers and the Tennessee Tornado looks like an awesome one! In addition to the coasters, the water rides look awesome too . . . I can't wait! And then its onto Hard Rock Park the following Sunday!!!
NINCUB
I am actually going with my parents camping next week and should be going to DW either the 23rd or 24th! It has been quite a few years since my last visit. Before Thunderhead and MM.... I am sooo excited to finally go and get those credit and to experience the awesome DW! :0)
coasterbear30
Thanks guys. I am sure that you will have a good time as DW is pretty awesome. ^^Hey wait, tuxedomask5432, you are from Atlanta?^^ You should come ride with us sometime!
coasterfreak80
I also love Arrow loopers and the Tennessee Tornado looks like an awesome one! Tennessee Tornado takes First Place for being the smoothest Arrow looping coaster Rob or I have ever ridden. I already have a soft spot in my heart for classic Arrow loopers (although most are rough) but this one was amazing. The transition between the three inversions was seamless. The last inversion, the usually painful "sidewinder" on all other Arrow and Vekoma models, was smooth as silk. Rob and I both tensed for the impact but there was only a graceful follow-through. We both looked at eachother in shock and screamed "That was F*ing amazing!" Rob's right; you are totally welcome to hit SFOG with us anytime. tuxedomask5432
Cool deal, It would be awesome to go to Six Flags sometimes with you two. I went last year and the year before for Goliath. I used to be a season pass holder in 2001, 2002, and 2003. Now i just go if I don't have anything to do around Atlanta. I grew up with that park and rode the Cyclone and the Ninja in their glory days. Give me a shout out when you two are interested in going.
