coasterbill
I'm glad someone else thinks Magnum is a lousy coaster. It's really rough.
Tiburon503
Cedar Point should NOT eject line jumpers on Mean Streak. They should force them to re-ride MULTIPLE times. Let the punishment fit the crime.
Philrad71
Max Air was actually running a cycle?? Didn't look to be any people on it, but the fact they were testing is a good thing. Â Nice reports! I am looking forward to going to KI either this year or next. Most likely will wait for the new coaster next year though...

They were training ops to run Maxair we were told by the guy holding the stick at the entrance. Same today.
hairgrowth2001
great TR so far! I rode magnum a week ago and it was a little too painful, normally it doesn't run that fast and gives perfect airtime on the return trip back without any discomfort. I love the third hill on Magnum. great airtime!
Beeja
I repeat myself: great TR with very nice pictures! But I would love to see some pics of you guys too! It almost looks like your cameras are on a trip by themselves  CP really looks like roller coaster heaven! Good thing the crowds were ok. I can't imagine what the lines must look like during vacation...  And I think that being nervous for TTD is totally normal. I guess everyone who rides it for the first time is nervous. I know I would be very very nervous!  Btw, Ishtar nor Hind made it to the finals of EuroVision... That was to be expected!
Groteslurf
Ok, here a quick update. We have currently problems uploading pics.  Yesterday we revisited CP and got frontrow rides on Maverick, TTD and Millennium Force. In the afternoon we drove to Niagara Falls, Canada, from where we'll be leaving to Canada's Wonderland within short.    But I would love to see some pics of you guys too! It almost looks like your cameras are on a trip by themselves  We'll see what we can do
signal
Like you, I couldn't stand the second half of Mantis. I got headbanged really badly. Man I wish I had stayed past 6:00 on Monday when all the schools left. I had been going for 3 days straight, and I could barely stand up. I was also there on Tuesday. The ERT in the morning was alot less busy, I was able to get first train on Millennium Force and then at about 9:30 get two front seat walk-ons on Maverick. I really like the photos you got, I think that they're alot better than mine (they'll be up soon)

cinciDAWGS12
Aw man I love Vortex! Did you feel the awesome air on the first hill? It looks like you guys are having a lot of fun on this trip. Great pics!
hansrubens
CP day two.... Â I'll just post some TTD close ups. Â On our way from Cedarpoint to the Niagara Falls we passed Waldameer. We couldn't resist it to have a brief look so I shot a few pictures of Ravine Flyer 2 too. TTD close up ^ Later that day we arrived at the Niagara falls But anyway we had to choose between a full day at Cedarpoint or just one coaster. Too bad we couldn't ride it We arrived at Waldameer. It seems like a great coaster ^ ^ It was very impressive
hansrubens
Day 5, may 21 Canadas Wonderland. Â It was a very cold day only 9 degrees Celsius. Â Anyway we could do multiple rides on Behemoth cause the park was dead. Â The trims on Behemoth were still off so we got plenty of air especially in the back. Although they kept the last row closed. Â Canadas Wonderland was bigger than that I thought it would be. A lots of flats that i've never seen anywhere else. Â On to the pics.... Entrance Time Warp is a flying coaster by Zamperla and it was a very weird Experience. Train on first drop. Station pic. In the back of the train we got air from the top till the bottom of the first drop. Behemoth I've never seen such a flat ride part 1 Flying position Loading position It was very uncomfortable to me. The good Vortex. It seems they copied some of the ride names of KI. I've never seen such a flat ride part 2 Somebody had puked in it. Unlike the Vortex at KI this one is very good. The first part of the ride is up a big canyon. Nuff said. The Bat The fly a mack wild mouse That first drop was pretty fun. Just another credit (maybe) Mine Train by Mack I've never seen such a flat ride part 3 Although it looks very dangerous it was really nice. This was my very first Togo Stand up I've never seen such a flat ride part 3 It beat the crap out of me. The Wild Beast It was just a SLC but this one was extreme rough Flight Deck. Hey that sounds familiar It was just a SLC but this one was extreme rough Flight Deck. Hey that sounds familiar Entrance of Ghoster Coaster. The surroundings of this ride were pretty neat but the ride itself was a bit rough ^ Last coaster of the day. Extremely rough especially the last helix. ^ I've never seen such a flat ride part 4. Yeah I know I must had to wait till it operated but nobody did dare to ride it in the afternoon. ParkTrips
^I was gonna say. I had a fun time on my front row ride. Maybe you need to learn how to ride it correctly. I've got a good riding strategy: Lean into the sharp transitions, and your ride will be MUCH more comfortable. Oh yeah, ride in the back, too. Vortex has the best first drop of all the coasters in the park in the back! hm  I've been on several old Arrow loopers, I know how to ride it, I rode int he back AND I still found it to be a huge POS  Maybe you just need to learn that not everyone likes Vortex. It's the worst of the megaloopers IMO (I never rode Shockwave)

If you go in the front; you get thrown all over the place. If you go to the back, it's pretty nice. I've been riding it since I was 7 or eight, I think.  Corkscrew I rode toward the back and found some awesome air over the first drop and the airtime hill. And that was about it for me, I doubt I'll ride it again...
Groteslurf
Cedar Point day 2 : 5/20/08 Â We parked on the Magnum parking lot before 9 am as this was the closest entrance to TTD. Dragster didn't open at 9 am however so we headed over to MF immediately and had a walk on for front row shortly after 9. We then headed over to Maverick and rode in front row without having to wait. Our plan was to head over to Dragster before 10 am but just before we were back in the station, Maverick broke down and we were stuck for half and hour Anyway, we got our frontrow ride on Dragster later that day, after waiting 90 minutes (1 hour normal row + 30 minutes front row wait). But it was really worth it. I'm so looking forward to our Flash Pass Gold next Monday & Tuesday. Kingda Ka, be prepared ! Â Too bad we missed on the shooting at Waldameer but as Hans said, we don't have the chance to visit CP every week so the choice wasn't too difficult. Hope to be able to meet up again with you next month in Europe Robb. ^ Blue Streak Wildcat wasn't open during our visit. And MF So is Mean Streak. ^ Maverick too. Mantis is a beauty. The misting is making Iron Dragon. I love the midway in CP. MF TTD I loved that ride. Disaster Transport. I don't really understand they made the investment to cover that ride. They must have costed a lot of money and I think I'd preferred it uncovered. Parking lot overview. Crowds were ok. It was worth the 90 minutes wait. My cheeks were touching my neck Waiting for front row on Dragster. Empty station at Maverick. I really loved the ERT. Walk on for MF. Nice place to take pics of Magnum. Our entrance of the day Where the hell is all that water coming from ? A lot of water and mist ... There is a lot of water. The misting was on. As we arrived at Niagara Falls just before nightfall, we decided to make a quick visit to the falls. This is the skyline from where we got rid of our car. I love the highways through the cities in the Usa. See you in a few days ! I love you ! Our last view on CP Anyway, a lot of water going over the edge. It was impressive but got me bored after a few minutes. Hi Beeja
Groteslurf
Canada's Wonderland : 5/21/08 Â After a 90 minutes drive from the falls, we arrived at CW. Btw, is everybody in Canada living near Toronto ? Man, traffic was busy ! Â Behemoth is (still) great. It seems the trims are still out of order and B&M is going to 'repair' that one of these days. Therefore, the last car of the train is closed because of too intensive forces. Our ride frontrow was great as expected. But our ride in the middle of the train was already surprisingly airy. Our ride on the (currently) backrow produced complete hills of airtime. CW's Togo stand up was an experience and the ride was ok. So was the Zamperla flyer. We rode the Arrow looper in the front this time and it was also ok. Vortex was very good and will now be called "good Vortex" CW has 10 other coasters but all standard crap (SLC, Boomerang, ..) or crap standards (the 3 woodies). Ah, we remember you from KI. At KI the Heli effect was working, at CW the fire effect worked but the heli didn't. Hopefully we will have the full experience at KD. Long trains due to weird positioning of the riders. No trims yet !! The main reason for our visit. ^ There are a lot, really a lot of flat rides and kidrides. ^ ^ Zamperla flyer. Hans says : Hi Beeja Hi Beeja Entrance Tomorrow Kennywood. "Where else". and Dora Hi Bob Arrow looper

307
Btw, is everybody in Canada living near Toronto ? Man traffic was busy ! Something like that. The area from the US border to CW that you drove through probably holds about 25% of Canada's entire population. The Greater Toronto Area alone has about 6 million people in it, just under 20% of the entire country's population. Â CW has 10 other coasters but all standard crap (SLC, Boomerang, ..) or crap standards (the 3 woodies). That's a pretty accurate way to describe most of the park's coasters. hansrubens
Day 6 may 22 Kennywood. Â After a 400 km drive from Niagara Falls we arrived at noon at Kennywood. Â We thought that the park would be dead on a weekday in may but it wasn't. Â Special thanks to guest relations for the free admission. Â I have some problems with uploading the pictures... sorry for that. I'll fix the first 5/6 pictures tomorrow. The Exterminator was a type of Wild Mouse/spinning coaster. Not really worth the 1 hour wait. Yeah Phantoms Revenge. Hey what's that in the back. It's my new favorite Arrow (Morgan) This coaster got it all: Speed, airtime and industries. Anyway it's a great coaster. Was it always so smooth even when it had inversions. Right out the station you plunge down into a ravine. That is so true. Hi Beeja ^ Double turnaround at the entrance
Groteslurf
Kennywood 5/22/08 Â After another long drive this morning from Niagara Falls to Kennywood, we arrived at noon time at Kennywood. KW asked us to come and say hello at guest relations so we did. Much to our surprise they let us into the park for free. That was a nice welcome. Thanks again Kennywood ! Â The park was really crowded (60 minutes for exterminator, 45 minutes for the new dark ride. 25 minutes for Phantom and about 20-30 minutes for the woodies). We thought there was a special event or something but according to the people at guest relations it was a normal weekday crowd. Â Kennywood is a nice park. It is however situated in a very industrial environment which is a bit weird. There are a lot of flatrides which I'd never seen before anywhere else. Â Phantom is a very good coaster : very smooth, lots of air and great headchoppers. The second drop into the valley is awesome. Thunderbolt also dives into the valley midcourse and that was very surprising. Racer is an ok coaster. It's a pitty though that loading the trains takes so damn long. I think the trains are dispatched only every 4-5 minutes). The track switch is great. Jack Rabbit is also a nice woodie. I loved the double drop. So great. Second drop. First drop of Phantom Evil Knievel ride One of the weird flat rides. Noah's Arc. I expected more of it. ^ ^ Thunderbolt is very nice with the midcourse drop in the valley. It was the weirdest thing to see 5 people holding the train while the 6th person was putting the track back to normal. Putting an additional train on Thunderbolt requires much manpower. The new darkride. It's great fun. Another Gyrodrop tree. A junior one this time. Difficult to capture Racer Racer Jack Rabbit It made me think of Pepsi Max due to the first drop but it's lots better. Oh, there it is.
