Airtime&Gravity
First off, I apologize for the graininess of the pictures as I was trying out a new setting. Second, due to the high wind, there are no trains in the Raging Bull pictures and few pictures of many of the other rides due to many being closed. So while not my best TR, it does show off what is new this year. The Good -the park was very clean(obviously) -the staff was great -ride operations were awesome -many of the rides were repainted, retracked, etc. The Bad -$25 to park in the main lot and $15 to park in the auxiliary -the food prices were raised Back to the awesome ride operations...Even though the park was dead, the rides that were open were running full or near full capacity. The coasters could have easily run just one train with the light crowds, but unless a train was in rehab, they were all in use. As for the lockers, they only cost $1, so it is not like SF is over charging. I think that there are too few lockers in place as they will easily be filled once summer comes. Now on to the pictures... track...more coming soon Lockers Signage Hi Derek Raging Bull got a bright new paint job...well most of it did Sadly Spy Girl couldn't save the world during her last show extreme close up Corkscrew Deja vu's current replacement Demon through the tree SWF queue is all that remains I swear I left it right here Overview of the site Well there's your problem... GriffyTiffy
Great report! One question: did you see S:UF get stuck on the lift? It was around 5:00 when it happened. Thanks for taking my picture on Batmans corkscrew!

tsalas08
Most all of the major rides were open all day, raging bull (also due to rumored other issues I hear) never opened because of to 30+ mph winds, same with the sky tower, and drop tower, Superman didn't open until ~2:30. Many flats were closed, however I didn't ride any other than the bumper cars. Most all of the rides were less than 15 minute waits and at 4:30 everything was basically a walk on. DejaVu The Ride
It was sad to see a lot of rides closed due to the winds. But what can you do? The park appeared to do everything they could to open whatever possible as SUF did end up opening in the afternoon. Raging Bull and Giant Drop did not open due to high winds and high winds only. Orbit, Yankee Clipper, and American Eagle Blue are both still down for maintenance and should be up soon. Any other ride in the park was open at least for some part of the day and closed due to the weather. One thing I would like to mention. Six Flags technically did not raise prices for any of the parking. In reality, they actually lowered preferred parking by $5. They merely expanded the preffered/season pass parking lot. THE ONE
When I first arrived at 11:00 the Sky Tower stoped about 30 feet up, It later closed due to high winds. Rides closed Raging Bull, Giant Drop, Ricochet, Condor, King Chaos, Raging Cajun, Jester's Wild Ride, Big Easy Balloons, The Orbit, Train, and the water rides, Yankee Clipper, Loggers Run, and Roaring Rapids. This was all i could remember. SUF opened around 2:00-2:30. The American Eagle Blue side is getting retracked from the station to the lift hill from what i could see. They also repaved from Carousel plaza to Hometown Square. BTDK still has quiet a bit of work to be done they have allot of work to get done before the ride opens on by May 21. It was kind of strange not to see most of Deja Vu gone and no Splashwater falls. Season pass processing was slow due to the system they have in place is really confusing no body new were they were going, including the staff, Some of them were not sure ware to send people, And I understand that it was the first day and some of the people were new. Over all the staff was great. Let me point this out the crew on SUF was awesome they were just cranking out the trains with very little stacking. Great job Guys. General Parking is $25. And Value parking is $15. the only problem with this is General in to the left and value is to the right even with light crowds peolple were trying to get over to the right, this should be interesting come summer with tons of people trying to enter the park. Over all it was a great day despite the high winds and and low 40's. The park was clean and their was ton's of painting going on in the park and improvements threw out the park. It's great to see thing's in al the Six Flags Parks improving, I hope it continues. Thank's for reading. Thank you for bearing with me, I hope you enjoyed the update. THIS IS YOUR WARNING. I een a guy over by the old DV site somking and park management escorted the guy out of the park, all hed did was beg to stay off he went this it what you see at the ticket gets mandatory $1. lockers at the Bull RB AE Blue side out of station retracking on the train to, well at least we know it's not just on Deja Vu! i noticed this on Iron Wolf, looks like track work on the turn into the loop Yankee Clipper closed seen alot of this today great now we have two of these things at least BTDK does not spin things have changed JR second location in the Mardi Gras section of the park looks like the the lift hill and station are in better get to work boys lots of track left more track and stuff Duh! its the oh CRAP part SUF still as smothe as a babys bottom What's up BTDK track Viper still a awesome ride old and new, I just don't remember RB being the shade of orange befor i could be wrong Batman aprears somethings missing pour Vu Flash Pass pricing BTDK entance Hi Derek zero g roll BTR
VivaLaVibora
Great Pictures. Those signs, "This ride will not open today." usually translate into this ride is really broke (This would not be a short time broke.), or this ride will not open for awhile in the season. Thus, the train got one. It's supposed to open Memorial Day weekend. I have heard a lot of people complain that it was the worst opening day yet. It was just the wind that was so bad that closed down rides. I didn't really care to tell you the truth. There were enough rides open to be enjoyable including Batman, Demon, Whizzer, and V2. I got on Ricochet (Huss Swing Around), and the Hometown Fun Machine (Scrambler) earlier before they closed. I would have liked to go more on the Swing Around, but oh well. On opening day I have seen Superman, Iron Wolf, and I have heard from a cousin that American Eagle all got stuck on the lifthills for a little bit. DejaVu The Ride
Wait a second, did I read that right, 25 $ for parking? are you F***ING Serious ! wow. $25 is for preffered parking. $15 is for value parking. Last years preffered parking price was $30. Thus a $5 decrease. The only other difference this season is the fact that preffered/season pass parking is the entire front lot and the value parking is the backlot. There might have been complaints that the differences between preferred and regular parking were not that much different and this creates a larger buffer zone and gives better value for preffered parking. So in reality, prices if anything have actually decreased. Walking has increased for those who choose value parking. The park has added clearer designated walkways from the backlot all the way up to the admissions area. Something I would like to commend the park on how well the smoking policy is being followed. I only saw 2 instances of people smoking and literally less that 1 minute after they lit up, they were approached by a security guard and in one case a manager. It looked like they were told they were going to have to leave the park as the guests looked mad. However, I think it is silly to think they didn't know. When walking into admissions area there is now a 3 foot blue line with the words "No Smoking" written on it. Security was also in the area informing guests of the policy. This is in additon to clearer smoking areas, flyers handed out to all cars, and all the other forms of information throughout the park. Props to Great America for cracking down on this. That's awesome, but my only real concern about smoking is the jerks who try to smoke in line. Those people should definitely be booted.
THE ONE
Wait a second, did I read that right, 25 $ for parking? are you F***ING Serious ! wow. The $25.is for general it's for the lot to the left parking booths and $15. for value, witch is the overflow lot, However if you get the parking pass for $65. you get to park in the general lot. All they did was take away the preferred parking name and make it general and expand it to the whole front lot. On the up side parking passes are good at all Six Flags parks except SFKK. WildStangAlex
Wow! Raging Bull looks awesome! I think it's good that there is a new Johnny Rocket's, because it seemed popular last year. I'm excited for the smoking enforcement However, I am not looking forward to several things such as $15 aux. lot parking and no Vu. The lockers don't bother me either way, if they speed up boarding great, but they definitely don't negatively impact me. TDK looks like it needs some work done, and fast to be open by their 3 week delay. As for everything else, the park looks clean, fresh, and fun. I can't wait for this season! Also, I paid less than $65 for my entire season pass, now they want me to pay that just for parking?
