sccoasterfan
I was at Carowinds and I was on Borg and got stuck at top f lift hill for 2 hours. They would not let us out because something was wrong with the stairway up there and was not entirely safe. So they had a guy with a rope atached to supports come out and keep telling us to lift up our heads then put them down. On the same day I also got stuck on Ricochet the wild mouse there at top in one of the litle brake/ acceleration things. I was lik what have I done to deserve this today. At least it wasnt thunder road.
where'smyhotdog
I was at SFOG yesterday and got stuck on Goliath twice. The first time I rode it, it got stuck as it was leaving the station and then again trying to go up the lift hill. Then I rode it again with similar problems. Ended up being some kind of sensor acting up, and since it was close to park closing they had the maintenance guy stay there overriding it every time it stopped. VivaLaVibora
V2 - A couple times just past the station, it stopped. Batman the Ride - In the brakerun, we would just wait there. Deja Vu - I got a retraction once, and misparking like 2 times. The brakeruns weren't just stacking either. Spin Out - It was up in the air, but not upside down. The guy put some long thing in (a fuse maybe), and it worked again. KMG Afterburner / Fireball - It went back and forth for a little bit before they stopped it. Revolution (Huss Frisbee) - It smelled like the tires were burning, and it just stopped. Superman Ultimate Flight - Also, in the brakerun. Iron Wolf - Also in the brakerun, just stayed there. Whizzer - Same thing along with American Eagle. They also stopped it on the lifthill.
Bolliger&Mabillard
Tatsu- I was doing the safety ride on tatsu one morning. When ever I do the safety ride at Tatsu I always look for two things, how many people are at Six Flags plaza running to the ride and how crowded the parking lot is. As the train approched block brake I looked to the left and caught a glimpse of a train stopped on upper lift. I thought to myself, ..."hmm, that shouldn't be"...and as soon as I thought that I slammed into a stop. Deja Vu- It parked short. Vekoma boomerangs tend to do that. Restraints were stuck. Floor would not raise. Xcelerator- Timed out on top hat (failed to clear tower in 3 seconds) E-stopped while I was on train in waiting block Over travel. (notice a trend with Vekoma and Intamins? Robbie
Once my brother and I got stuck about 2/3 of the way up on Mean Streak for about 15 minutes. I found it to be quite enjoyable, with a nice view of the park and the angle we were at was like a recliner.
All Clear
I got evac'd from the brake run on KD's Shockwave a long time ago. It was pretty cool, but I didn't fully appreciate it. I got stuck on the lift of Rebel Yell once, during a zen ride. Someone came up and asked if I wanted to be walked down the lift hill or just wait until they restarted it. I was really torn. I wanted both so badly. I ended up waiting and took the zen. I waved at all the maintenance guys who were walking the backward side (this was right at opening). Fun times. I was stuck on Deja Vu at SFA for about twenty minutes when we overshot the station at the end of the ride. They had to do some maintenance guy magic to get the floor to come up and then manually release us from the OTSRs.
Kennyweird
I've gotten stuck on Splash Mountain before at WDW. It was right before the final drop, as a result I was subjected to the "what goes up must come down" song for about 15 minutes. I can only describe it as pure torture. Rollerman87
I've been stuck at the brakes right before the station on Colossus. It was only maybe five minutes, but I was with my church group and the guy I was riding with and I were running a tad bit late for the bus. (Shoulda just got off Colossus and jumped the fence nears Scream ) The worst part was the guy I was riding with is so annoying and he just kept talking. 5 minutes felt like 20. coasterdude5
I got stuck and was "evacuated" from Expedition Everest in March of 2006 before its grand opening. Here's my quoted experience: ...I get in the middle with some lady, and we're off! We go through the first part...not bad! We start going up the second lift hill. and the train stops. The lady goes" this isn't good" and I said to myself, "wow, this sure wasn't in Erik's video! So after a few minutes the usual voice recording: "we have had to make an unscheduled stop, the train will continue shortly" yeah, that held me over for about 10 minutes. Then finally, I see three cast members making there way up the mountain. "We are making a routine evacuation" Routine....... One person was even dumb enough to ask if this was part of the ride. I asked the cast member and she said "something had gone wrong". So we got to walk through all the track before the lift and I got some pretty nice shots! And of course they gave us re-entry passes and I rode it. When I was young.... haha Here are some pictures from the riveting experience: That's it... Under the mountain! Behind the mountain... Single-file line! Time to go... These two kids were as happy as I was. I was stoked when it happened.
Robbie
That looks totally awesome! Did you get like a free ride pass or anything?
panda367
At Seabreeze, where I work as a Ride Op, the code for a stuck ride is a REDA. I think that's an acronym of some sorts, but they never told us what it stood for. That being said, I've never been stuck on a ride, and I've never had a REDA on the rides that I've worked this season at Seabreeze. Then again, I haven't worked that much this year anyway. Capitalize
I've been stuck on some rides, The only time I was evac'd off a ride was Kumba at BGA a few seasons back. Thankfully the train was only a tiny bit up the lift so it was a short walk down the steps and into the station... And they gave us reentry passes for any ride in the park (even though Kumba had a wonderful zero train wait all day and we were only stuck for a few minutes), which I used to get a ride on the coaster with the longest line all day, Cheetah Chase. rct2wizard360
Ahhh two new stories from CP this weekend. Magnums lift for 10 minutes. Some idiot with a camera. Millennium Forces lift for around 15-20. I still have no idea what happened. Maintenance just came up and told us the ride would start soon. In around 20 minutes we were off. viking86
We had an RCT-style "Restraints stuck closed" breakdown on Kingda Ka when we returned to the station after our first and only ride a week ago. I guess it took 5-10 mins before they got us out. We also saw people being evacuated on the lifthill on the left side of Rolling Thunder.
topthrillmaverick
I got 'stuck' on Top Thrill Dragster a few years back. Sadly it wasn't a rollback or getting stuck on the top or anything like that. My friend and I were going on one last ride before the park closed and we got on the ride at about 9:45pm (CP closed at 10 that night). We were the second of two cars sent out of the station and after watching the car in front of us launch we rolled into launch position. After that we heard a clunk (I really don't think it was part of the ride) and just sat there. It was...I don't know, like 15 minutes before anything happened. We were just stuck on the launch track, with people watching us from below when suddenly we rolled back and then launched. It was just like that. It was totally unexpected but was pretty fun because no one expected to launch like that.
