Animal 4
If the new entrance isn't ready, I assume they'd just use the temporary entrance like they did last year. ^This. I wouldn't see them completely scrapping the season because the new entry isn't ready. Their temporary setup that they've had since the start of last season is perfectly fine in the interim. So you’re saying that if Covid never happened the park would not open the entire year because their new entrance isn’t ready???? No, that's not even remotely close to what I'm saying. How did you manage to come up with that based off the words I typed? Not you or your quote... I was talking about cparks92 comment.
tndank 47
Passholder days July 1, 2 Open to everyone July 3 Candymonium will open at this time, too.
pryonisys 0
Glad to see Hershey can open in a few weeks. Their county goes "green" next Friday, yet Erie and Waldameer are just stuck waiting. Kind of a bummer that I'm heading to Harrisburg this weekend instead of 4 or more weeks from now.
ajfelice 2
I must say, not sure anyone outside of Hersheypark (or maybe them included) would have guessed they would jump ahead to be the first park to open in Pennsylvania. What started as hot spots in Philadelphia/Eastern PA and somewhat in Pittsburgh, has now receded with the heavier restrictions closer to Philly and apparently Erie (I guess we have a new outbreak around here?). Taeshan 0
Going to be at the Candymonium first rides event and the second passholder preview. Going to finally cross off all but the kiddie coaster here (missing Fahrenheit, Wildcat, and the Lightning side plus Candy obviously) First summer with passes so it's been rough so far but hopefully we get a good rest of the year
CenturyFlyer 16
The rides page on the website lists Storm Runner as closed for the season. That seems odd (though not really I guess b/c Intamin), and it would be unfortunate if it's closed all summer. sooperdooperLooper is also temporarily closed.
tndank 47
That is not good news at all.

Probably about launch concerns with weight. Or parts. Or just anything.
YoshiFan 1
The park replied to someone's message on Facebook stating Storm Runner is closed because necessary maintenance was delayed due to impact of the virus.
CenturyFlyer 16
I remember seeing an availability calendar for reservations on the website with check marks on the open days (which was all of them). I don't see it now. Am I just missing something?
Mike240SX 86
You need a ticket or pass to access the reservation system. Edit: I think this is what you were looking for: https://www.hersheypark.com/reservations/reserve-your-day/availability.php?_ga=2.173162337.35138034.1593269977-1848675145.1591994155
CenturyFlyer 16
Thanks! Does the system make you select a time with only a certain number of spots being available per time slot like the Cedar Fair parks are doing?
Mike240SX 86
No idea; I don't have a pass or tickets, and you can't access the actual reservation system without one of those.
Clarimeister 0
Thanks! Does the system make you select a time with only a certain number of spots being available per time slot like the Cedar Fair parks are doing? I made a reservation for 2 days and it's just for the day. No specific time.
bert425 111
Can't wait to go back. . tho looking like 2021 now wanna check out the new coaster and entrance!
Clarimeister 0
I see on the HersheyPark website, that StormRunner is now showing "Closed for the Season" It had opened, right? So wonder what's going on that it's suddenly down? https://www.hersheypark.com/explore-the-park/rides/storm-runner/ According to their Instagram page in some of the comments they said due to the delays caused by COVID-19 they weren't able to perform their maintenance necessary to open it for the season. Something like that. Really unfortunate!
bert425 111
^ StormRunner is easily my favorite Coaster there, so that's a shame but they still have a really stellar lineup anyways - worth a visit for Great Bear, Lightning Racer, Farenheit, SuperDooperLooper, Coment, and I'm assuming Candymonium will be awesome. The Indoor spinner is fun too. can easily skip the Mouse and Wildcat I'm personally not a fan of Skyrush - so that's not a "deciding factor on a visit" for me.

I'm definitely really excited to visit for the first time, and yeah I'm very bummed Storm Runner won't be open. However, I really am excited for Skyrush, Candymonium, and the other highlights there. Since I have to come back to the area at some point for Dorney and Jersey Devil at SFGAdv, I will definitely be back to get Storm Runner and anything else that's closed. southpuddle 17
Eek. This is not the year to be making any first ever trips to parks.

Mike240SX 86
Eek. This is not the year to be making any first ever trips to parks. Agreed. Unless you can temper you expectations to realize that everything is going to suck. Granted, I'm going to KI for 2 days and CP for 3 in a few weeks, but I fully expect everything not to be running, lines to be long, and food service to be a shitshow. I just need a dose of normalcy in my life, and if I can't go get drunk and play video games at my local Dave and Busters, coasters it is. tndank 47
SDLooper is not running for now either. It should be back up at some point.
bert425 111
^ that's a shame, as I love that coaster. what about Sidewinder and Trailblazer? (I mean, neither of those are must rides, but they are coasters there) . . . wondering if those two are closed, if they just closed that Section over by StormRunner? Since the 3 coasters are all right next to each other.
