Looks like some new food items will be available at the park this summer such as a Moe's Southwest, create-your-own whoopie pies, more allergy friendly items and some others.

DINING ADDITIONS

New for 2015, Moe's Southwest Grill, a burrito joint featuring fresh, customizable southwestern food, will be coming to the Pioneer Frontier Food Court. Also look for additional new Dining options, including customizable Whoopie Pies, allergy friendly choices and more.

Im planning on visiting Hershey from April 9-12 for their Springtime in the Park event. I have never been to Hersheypark other than the usual summer season so I was wondering if anyone could tell me what the crowds are like during the springtime event, are they worse, better? thanks

It really depends on which day you go. Saturdays are pretty packed and throw in if it is a nice warm day and that even can bring more people out. Start out with Fahrenheit, go back to Midway America and then work your way forward. Don't worry about Skyrush as it usually will have a shorter line later in the day.

  • 3 weeks later...

Looks like quite a bit of the ride is already together. They did add some dark blue/purple trim to the exterior of the building, but it is still mostly white for right now. The foundation for the two kiddie rides that are to be relocated may have been poured given that they have a tent set up in that general area. Once they do that, it will allow them to move the roof structures for them back into place and start work on bringing Tiny Tracks back in Racer's former overflow queue.

Can't wait to see what the cars look like!

Some cool general maintenance photos and an article about the park slowly sprouting back to life. I'll say it again, I can't wait for his park to open!

Note: still no mention of Laff Trakk opening date yet.

From a walk I took on Monday, it also looked like they replaced a few support braces on Comet. Other places in the park, it looked like they were replacing the roof on the Chocolate House near the entrance and re-tracking the second hill before the turnaround on Thunder for Lightning Racer.

Laff Trakk's building did get some new spouting, but that's about it. Track-wise they had only several pieces left in the employee lot. The park also posted some photos of the cars on their Facebook page:

I know it's a clone but it's a clone of a really good layout and one that in the dark will be amazingly disorienting. I can't wait for this ride, if nothing else it's an excuse to go back to Hershey and that's always a good thing.

Did Skyrush get new trains or does it still use the ones that crush your thighs?

No new trains, but the restraints are a little more padded and it makes a world of difference. They also release the restraints slightly on the brake run, which is nice.

Skyrush's lift must be interesting to climb given its steepness.

I got stuck on a train ~150' up last October and that was disorienting enough. Looking back down that lift is crazy.

So I am planning on going to Hershey Park for the first time in June. I will probably be going on a weekday. I know that I will be able to go the day before for free with ticket the next day so here is the plan:

Day 1 7:30pm-10pm Hershey Park

Day 2 10:00am-10:00pm

Should I buy a fastpass for day 2? I am considering it but do not know if it is worth it. Also, how are the lines late at night?

All responses are greatly appreciated!

If you are going weekdays, I really don't think it would be worth it to get Fast Track Pass. School groups usually show up in the beginning of the month and typically stay for the start of the day and leave around dinnertime. For the first day, I would get Laff Trakk out of the way as the crowds may head to it first thing the following morning.

When I think about it, I think it might be tough to figure out which coaster to head to first at the moment as I think Laff Trakk and Fahrenheit both have around the same capacity per hour.

A little update on the new food options. It sounds like there will be a new food location that will specialize on food allergies called The Outpost.

More photos have been posted to the Hershey Lodge Facebook page of Laff Trakk. These kind of make it look like the track work might be done!

I finally convinced my wife that we need to take the kids to Hershey, so I will also be making my first trip to the park in June. I'm thinking of going the 2nd or 3rd week of June as it sounds like the crowds won't be too bad yet. The preview night is a great idea, so I plan on using it to hit up Laff Track, Farenheit, Storm Runner and Skyrush. I'm also thinking of staying at the Hershey Lodge as you get an extra hour on the preview night and then you get into the park an hour early. Does anyone know if all the rides are open during early admission or do they just have certain rides running? Any other tips would be greatly appreciated. I've really enjoyed reading through the forum in preparation for the trip, so I feel like I've got a pretty good gameplan.

Everyone seems to really love this park, so I'm excited to finally be able to visit it.
