XYZ
Okay it shouldn't even be a discussion whether its 85º or not because it is and they're not going to say it is if it wasn't. At least we're not talking about how bad Skyrush is because it overshadows Comet. (I don't support this at all, I think it "complements" the Comet)
coasterferg
Anyone know when the anticipated opening day is? I am trying to schedule a trip to Pennsylvania for either mid-May or mid-June. I would rather go in May when crowds would be less but I don't want to risk Skyrush not being opened yet... I couldn't find it on Herheypark's website and rcdb just says 5/2012. Anybody know if it's on schedule? THANKS!

Anybody know if it's on schedule? THANKS! Currently, Memorial Day weekend is 'Grand Opening' as scheduled. The final date of opening has not been announced, but historically (Save for the Fahrenheit debacle...) Memorial Day opens the new coasters. Expect FULL coverage from HersheyPark by TPR that day- as there are quite a few of us heading up for the 'big party' (Some of us, well, more than others!) R.D. Ccron10
Catwalks are going up and they seem to be moving fast (All of them that are up were done within one day). The first two photos were taken yesterday and the others are from today. http://keystonethrills.megabb.com/t362-hersheypark-skyrush-construction-update-83-2-5-12#6023 What you are seeing is Looper paint. As you can see, there is some white paint from the 1980's paint job. Edited February 6, 2012 by Ccron10
galindoverhere
NOW I have to agree with the others... The drop doesn't loo like 85* anymore (IMO) in these photos
coasterfreak101
I agree with the people who designed the ride who say that it's 85*.
alpengeist04
^Maybe they rounded up and it's really 84.8.

XYZ
Is it me, or is the tall lift support slanted? (not talking about the tall support next to the drop)
coasterfreak101
^Yes, it's slanted toward the center of the arch. ^Maybe they rounded up and it's really 84.8. I was thinking 84.7, but you're probably right.
nitro4ever
Well the station's looking nice, other than that, catwalks don't really excite me that much.............

This coaster is quickly moving up on my lists as being one of my top anticipated coasters of this year. Oh, and thanks for posting so many photos instead of just linking to your website. Real
This is still a bige ride guys. Sure we have some especially huge rides out there in the world but rides 200ft and over arent exactly that common. Only at some of the larger established parks do you see Hyper coasters. Excluding the 2 rare types in Giga and Strata it narrows it dow This thing looks absolutely fantastic. I love the new approach to less supports as well. It has this industrial, rugged look to it. Ccron10
In the matter of one day of work, most of the catwalk for the lift has been installed, the roof for the elevator was installed. The station is starting to look great, by the way! http://keystonethrills.megabb.com/t363-hersheypark-skyrush-construction-update-84#6024

StarWars
I love the picture with the seven roller coasters. At first glance there is only six (Skyrush, SDL, Great Bear, Comet, Fahrenheit, Storm Runner), but with a closer look, Sidewinder just peeks above the trees near Storm Runner. BaMiTsPaT
^ I wouldn't have found Sidewinder unless I had read your post and known that there were seven coasters in the shot.
