Loving the colors on that track for sure. This is going to be one beautiful looking coaster.

Anyone know the descent angle on this coaster? I'm curious if it'll be more like B&M's traditional hypers around 70 degrees, or more like Shambhala/Leviathan/Fury around 80+ degrees.

 

Also, why hasn't anyone talked about that first element? It's a little harder to see in the concept art but it looks extremely overbanked, almost borderline top-hat like.

They haven't said anything about the drop angle yet. I think the only stats we really know are height, speed, and length.

Oh. My. That track looks absolutely beautiful. The colors look much better than I thought they would. Love the way that Sea World is even hyping up the transportation of the track! Can't wait to ride this new beauty.

Exactly, this is a great way to advertise driving from the Mid-west all the way to Florida. I also like the color scheme chosen...very nice hues!

Looks like I may be able to make it back to FL next year after 10+ years...very excited to see more stuff at SeaWorld and that they are still very much in business.

I've always wondered if a park could work out a deal to have some kind of custom truck carrying track. So cool to see this actually happen, and it makes a ton of sense for a park like SeaWorld, which brings in visitors from all over the country.

For weight reasons they probably can't carry more that one piece at a time anyways.

Kind of a newbie here, so forgive any stupid comments.

 

It just blows my mind to see this truck and transport system. I guess I've never thought of what it actually takes to construct a coaster, especially just getting the track from the warehouse to the park.

 

In this case, I would guess that piece is about 50 feet long. With a track size of 4700 feet, at 50 feet a piece, that's 94 pieces of JUST TRACK.

 

So am I crazy, or will they have to have 93 MORE trucks, just like this one, rolling down I-75 from Ohio to Orlando?????

 

That seems amazing, just to get the track there. Then all of the supports, and machinery? What a MASSIVE undertaking just to get it on site.

 

My mind then thought of the storing, organizing, and moving (certainly by crane) of each piece from the parking lot (or wherever) to the park.

 

I'll enjoy the heck out of it once it's comlete, and sure am glad I'm not the project manager in charge of everything required from the beginnings of a warehouse in Ohio, to final product in Orlando.

Yep, although they can put some of the smaller pieces two on one trailer. But that's also not even including the supports, chain, ride vehicles, etc. There's a lot more coming then even just the track.

The coaster's transportation's marketing strategy is just amazing. #MAKOSIGHTING I also think that the custom B&M Hyper trains are pretty cool

These colors are my favorite of B&M's. I just hope it doesnt fade to black like Nitro's.

 

My fingers are croosed that Mako will land in my top 10 as I really would like this to be better than Nitro (the only B&M in my top 10).

^ Normally the lighter color paints are the ones that fade quickly and get ugly. Darker colors not only hold up better, but they also tend to keep a lot of their tint when they fade.

 

I have to admit that at first, the layout seemed kind of bland, but it definitely is growing on me. Not sure if it can beat Nitro (my number one B&M) but it could come close. Especially seeing that the latest B&M designs have been a little more forceful.

Yea darker colors definitely hold up better, just look at Manta.. still looks near brand new.

As somebody who obsesses about colors WAY more than I should...

 

I LOVE SeaWorld's color choices for all three of their coasters. I know it's probably simply because of the aquatic theme of the park, but that fits right in my personal groove for color preferences. Blues, greens, teals, purples... Fantastic! A welcome and refreshing change from the obsession with Reds, Oranges, and Yellows at my beloved CP!

 

I'm not saying this has anything to do with their colors, but both Kraken and Manta are in my top 20 coasters... It'll be interesting to see if Mako will join them!

Am I missing something here?? (Which is possible. I've been really busy with school.) All the renderings I have seen have been pretty standard B&M trains.

I believe that the zero car/lead car is customized to look like a shark.

I think he just means the custom artwork on them like Hollywood Dream and a few others. The concept art for Mako looks like there are some decorative "fins" on the side of the trains, and maybe a customized lead car similar to Manta.

 

I've always liked the B&M Hyper trains, they're comfortable, ride nice, and looks great. I'm glad Mako has the standard 4-across instead of the weird tiered seating like Diamondback and Intimidator.
