March 25th 2008: I went to Gardaland to get the new season pass and the new Vekoma Mine Train credit!E

5626.jpg.7ff7d10864c67f46e034214c57dca2d7.jpg

I leave you with this shot of Mammut. If you look closely on the right you can see that the theming is still not completed.

Thanks for reading!!!

5625.jpg.e19bfec11699a9075f6527efdc9fe16f.jpg

A never seen before shot of Blue Tornado taken from Mammut's brake run!!!

5624.jpg.175fa4ec9111bb85da18880bd3de3aa5.jpg

The last inversion!

5623.jpg.348e2d5b2c3c12d52cfc8a630950294a.jpg

A couple more shots for those Vekoma enthusiasts! This once was my favourit part of the ride.

5622.jpg.ec637ecef5260f3b17e651265bfb73fd.jpg

Some happy riders going upside down!

5617.jpg.1de6938911a932abe595ef25ef382d4b.jpg

Blue Tornado through the trees!

5616.jpg.9a7c60b0e5c7cd5b2380870b714bb6e9.jpg

Some paople are having fun on the free fall tower. The one in the back isn't Mammut's theming but it's a real mountain covered with snow!

5615.jpg.c60c6e975c2d04c5e3d2e21c07d214dd.jpg

The final part of the ride! It was running ok today. I rode it once in the back.

5614.thumb.jpg.518de4bd106457f91614216768c97b30.jpg

Hey Derek!!! I hope you like the angle!

5613.jpg.03d2cfaa2a80784db4ba4ae77f2e5ac6.jpg

Hey Derek!

5610.thumb.jpg.8acb15fa295555abb14ec3e28306c8f9.jpg

Finally it was time for Space Vertigo: the most intense free fall tower I've been on. I was lucky enough to ride it twice without getting out of the station.

5609.jpg.31bc1a0fd539c26f992c0f6ee9404cf8.jpg

Here you can see the first, the second and a small piece of the third drop.

5607.jpg.0cc6adc749094c78d57d161b2ebab1b3.jpg

A nice view of Mammut from above. You can see on the left that they are still working to pave the road and to finish the theming.

5606.jpg.3a3c54523f667f4a202d492d534ebd47.jpg

Somwhere in this picture you should see a red 1st generation Intamin free fall tower. It belongs to another park called Movieland and it has been built in 2006 but it was actually open in 2007.

5605.jpg.4f941fbc785c67a1ea02b1d478b161b1.jpg

This is a view of Lake Garda: it's the largest lake in Italy and it gives the name to the park.

5604.jpg.03f5c2d48947f0198d2c985d40691a1f.jpg

Then I decided to ride the Flying Island to check the wait for the free fall tower and to take some areal shots of the park.

Here's a view of two other "awesome" credits: Magic Mountain: the Vekoma double looper and Sequoia Adventure: the Screaming Squirrel by S&S!

5603.jpg.1b0e8f1d9e0efd3f036ca19a0795dbc9.jpg

A different angle of the same helix.

5601.jpg.6231a5dff90de58fa63e9c517194422d.jpg

The helix is so close to the ground that you can almost trim the bushes with yout teeth.

5600.jpg.4858161a8a2a17bb13d58c6c9d985b84.jpg

First drop with train in the middle!

5599.jpg.f483e2f9bbefd6edbfa2f2c665ab531d.jpg

First drop!

5598.jpg.321b00e3e9e39c03f84d62ccec3a8554.jpg

A close up of the second part of the first element. I wish it was as good as it looks like!

5597.jpg.4e485f73b00bf34cc2152ec2160c7b0a.jpg

It was a great weather to take some nice shot to the most photogenic ride in the park: the SLC.

5596.jpg.8e3f69679edfcff493648b4b065cd482.jpg

Is this an acceptable amount of water???

5595.jpg.9f351aaa035836939a274273f51560aa.jpg

After some rides on Mammut and Blue Tornado it was time for some Intamin fun but the wait was too long so I just took a couple of pictures hoping to find a shorter line in one of my next visits.

5593.jpg.d93a6e1d5bfe9110cc06439f5de09e41.jpg

A look at Mammut from the Blue Tornado queue line. I was lucky and I got the front seat. I hate the front seat but it's not easy to get that spot. I finished the ride with a headache.

5592.jpg.247b388e2381821c07beec845bd0614d.jpg

That one is a real 1946 6 wheels truck. There are two of them. The other one is somewehre around the ride.

5591.jpg.80a316f8b93b59ce94613951117ee9c2.jpg

Another look at the theming of this cool ride.

5590.jpg.0c2b8403d6a09fed6d67281462be07cf.jpg

This is a shot for all the transfer track enthusiasts!

5587.jpg.bec9eff806686cd5f8279fd2cc9d7a82.jpg

A really cool thing about this ride is that it iteracts a lot with the queue line by passing above it at least 4 times.

5585.jpg.fd00c4c58947cc0e574fb1ad3ee3be2d.jpg

The theming is really nice even if they are still working to complete the last few details.

5584.jpg.4a4f4b8d0ff467e03c5c8e52b1270f21.jpg

Here you can see the wooden tunnels that hide the first and second lift hill.

5582.jpg.81cc8bcaea4f04287aaef6dbe7a2e675.jpg

A closer look at the third lift hill. The first and the second one are hidden in two wooden tunnels.

5581.jpg.ac42011997b8b0ad5804c804d2c35050.jpg

Finally the operator got the ok from the station and wolked us in. This is a shot from inside the Mammut station.

5580.jpg.670b535c7b46ca3d817c17d65c70815a.jpg

Many people decided that it wasn't worth waiting so they went to ride the Blue Tornado wich had a very short wait.

5579.jpg.e9545162af7298d5523db7d3e5f8e309.jpg

Unfortunately the ride was still closed beacuse I've heard that they were replacing some wheels on one of the trains.

5578.jpg.37132d2839a1165a5bd76052d8ab6f51.jpg

As I got into the park I went straight for Mammut to be on the first train on the day.

March 30th 2008: I spent a couple of hours with some friend in a small park called Minitalia Leolandia where everything is made by Zamperla.

5680.jpg.143644a9ffec673748296ca246037bcc.jpg

I leave you with this shot of the crazy airtime Zamperla tower!

Thanks for reading.

5679.jpg.d5b681cd065948bdb324ed0f16116526.jpg

Nice themed Zamperla spinning coaster cars.

5675.jpg.3779d615c37d1aa3f40cd8a948ace36c.jpg

Another POV shot! I liked this ride. It didn't spin too much.

5671.jpg.c8d050c32717897efbd716f9d5b64a12.jpg

After that we came back to where the newest ride are located to get the spinning credit!

5055.jpg.23325eeb4d8316aaa7b239d051c3fc6f.jpg

This is another pretty cool kiddie flat ride. As you can see there are Zamperla labels everywhere on the ride.

5661.jpg.542514761be0a517d99f44f659702c3d.jpg

This one was next. It a classic ride but it's always pretty fun.

5660.jpg.497222aa68ba52e7267b54421ecb0980.jpg

A shot for those lift chain and anti roll-back enthusiasts.

5655.jpg.23f5321911b73920cc536dc238704d77.jpg

Dirty chain close up!!! Wow!

5656.jpg.8208a9b730bc99ad50ff1164da9e23ad.jpg

Signature shot!!!

5654.jpg.c5ae789625634623574f8df4e27b3cbd.jpg

Extremely overbanked turn!!! OMG!

5653.jpg.c0e125bfdb57ee4b8eb44f289d1b1b17.jpg

Just in case you forgot!

5652.jpg.e78cc9804f047c8418d13157b6aa701b.jpg

Is that a credit I see???

5651.jpg.0c5ca82944868e968e90cbae067563d2.jpg

We all had lots of fun on those rides.

5650.jpg.1b175dc5c637cb75ab486f59836a7383.jpg

Next we went to the kiddie area of the park. It has lots of strange rides like this one.

5647.thumb.jpg.91aa06c6326dc601fc7eeddc08863ed5.jpg

A random view of a random ride by Zamperla!

5646.jpg.3bc34074e46e260aa2846f924e954ff1.jpg

Next to every ride you can find lots of Zamperla signs just like this one.

5645.thumb.jpg.683e235da511e479ea349ee82b68b624.jpg

This is the new tower by Zamperla. It's a double shot tower and it has the most unpredictable ejector airtime ever!

5642.jpg.b59a410bd60269c0619d324fe966d844.jpg

Trying to get an artistic shot of this ride!

5641.jpg.96bdc2b881b248c5f98441e3209d250d.jpg

Zamperla upskirt!!!

5639.jpg.4a5a4b789ac8e31f653700da22293de0.jpg

The park was pretty much empty at this time of the day.

5644.jpg.f5321931c505e4e6923e1c41ad812cb3.jpg

One of the new rides for this year is this Disk'O. It spin a little too much for me but it looks pretty cool.

5636.jpg.4b3b48c3d0ad27c742faa02a295e5cc3.jpg

This are my friends who were with me today!

5635.jpg.3ae7ca7009108e0ec50ab0ba725ca834.jpg

This is me.

5064.jpg.b0a5072cb19eb9735a2e262df85f3d3d.jpg

This is a picture I took last year. This park has a scale recreation of Italy with all the main cultural and geographical features. It's pretty nice but I didn't visit it today.

5633.jpg.e8a71179d843b477e6401a17cfb5df75.jpg

This crazy looking guy is Leomonster and he's the new main character of the park.

5632.jpg.3bcd3f851078707de0916645921f480d.jpg

While I was waiting for my friends to arrive they were testing the rides.

5628.jpg.5c2e5eb917f9d9793eefb0c3c02a9f27.jpg

Right next to main entrance you can see the two main reasons why I decided to visit this park: getting the credit and try this new tower.

5630.jpg.0dee897011b13bc2181a0406a4a5beee.jpg

This is the main entrance to the parking lot. The name Leolandia has been added this year; it used to be called Fantasy World.

April 6th 2008: Heide Park with my friends from www.theparks.it!

5743.jpg.93b22a9a8d56112d293a83d01db2c39b.jpg

This is the end of the first part... more pictures coming soon!

5745.jpg.3a1e31dbfe794dc42c0c4eb46d0260fd.jpg

A little bit of airtime before hitting the brake.

Desert Race is a really good ride with a pretty interesting layout. The only problem is that it's too short.

5744.jpg.b24ca4e0983386f9fcab666acaf9a18d.jpg

0 to 60 mph in 2.4 seconds! It's short but it's pretty intense!!!

5735.jpg.b3203a2851349c6dc2379e6d1bb86a22.jpg

Finally it was time to ride Desert Race!

5730.jpg.f51b6ed84ef54e821151064115758cb6.jpg

So we went on Grottenblitz; the powered coaster. It's pretty good but not as good as the one at Europa Park.

5725.jpg.ee0a214eca064d6acd261c742497414d.jpg

Vekomas signature shot!

5721.jpg.fed629223582c41185d83a4d88283c6e.jpg

Colossos signature shot!

5719.jpg.52a7f71ac3b7a137668647c88a007bc3.jpg

It was still too cold for the Vekomas to open.

5718.jpg.5ff7d9a54a27053d064ab9f51fe72b14.jpg

I guess that 35 degrees isn't exactly the best temperature to ride the log flume!

5715.thumb.jpg.62906ced9ba1ed25708f50a4dd99a304.jpg

As you can see there are only two people on the whole ride!

5714.jpg.dac96fd20568757edd7d8494e6f59563.jpg

Scream was running almost empty when we got there. We rode it twice.

5709.thumb.jpg.6c4f48a09e752c7fca151614e9abeacd.jpg

After riding twice Colossos we went to check the other coasters but they were all closed due to the extreme cold weather. So we went to ride theawesome gyro drop tower!

5737.thumb.jpg.c48e099da6658e0381e91813f9356250.jpg

Colossos is awesome even if I was expecting it to be more intense and less rough.

5736.jpg.899d8741048aa04cc84de39392a96148.jpg

Desert Race operator told us that Colossos was operating so we went there. We were pretty much the only guests in the park.

5740.jpg.9da7f21b3dc5af4ff440cd20c4eb0d85.jpg

We walked straight to Desert Race just to find out that it wasn't open because it was too cold.

5706.jpg.4a51bd41ad2a435797457cf2f09a965b.jpg

This is us walking toward the park entrance.

5704.thumb.jpg.ed4de369eb5e62cf7e01a5535a49e72f.jpg

And finally the day we were all waiting for arrived. We woke up with this light fog that covered the top of Scream!

5701.jpg.54710ec702636203cc25fef5df7a5c7a.jpg

This was the smallest one I could find!!!

5700.jpg.7a8fb358c92bed76ae4b65736cf55792.jpg

A closer look at the turn around.

5699.jpg.0448c819aedfbd8f18c0cb5dba6e4d85.jpg

Before dinner we had a walk around the park to get a closer look to this Intamin monster.

5696.jpg.37c12e8ddf3d102e48b0b7dbb5184d8a.jpg

Another random view from the camp.

5690.jpg.f1ed9838162ceb5c792440032eedfe0a.jpg

This is me with the Holiday Camp in the background. It was really cold!

5687.jpg.a275d1d0ab8d5f5f92bb981405ab6da5.jpg

Welcome to Holiday Camp!

5686.jpg.deb7ab45f0953635838cc90240cea172.jpg

From Bremen airport we took a privat bus and we finally got to our destination. Here's a nice view from the Holiday Camp entrance which was where we spent the night.

5685.jpg.2f9b58f47b01d5822d0d1bbbecefddee.jpg

This is us waiting to get on the plane!

5684.jpg.ed8f0c29d34c3009570b0c804a6c69ff.jpg

This is our plane that will take us straight from Bergamo (Italy) to Bremen (Germany).

5788.jpg.c3254521e5b50ca0366539f5db3c1273.jpg

Ok... I leave you with this nice shot of Scream's empty seats!

Let me know you liked this photo trip report.

Thanks for reading!

5784.jpg.6f212e057e7c1e0363998ca38fee0c1f.jpg

Airtime!!!

5782.jpg.cc71c9e616ac1f8f583b40374c4fc2e0.jpg

Dirty Colossos upskirt shot!

5783.jpg.02c763f834abf2c17ad8135353c6520a.jpg

A couple more shots of Colossos! In the afternoon it was running much better!

5785.jpg.12fa436b00636acddea0c54ab1aa8672.jpg

Can we ride it???

5781.jpg.e6f6b8d2285dc99071edcea3edd38035.jpg

Another areal shot of Colossos.

5778.jpg.2e168b3616d47b8b2ca643a9faff80d5.jpg

A view from above of the Vekoma side of the park!

5775.jpg.f72d7b27581bb4ecce8d90483cc5c5bd.jpg

Construction update of the new kiddie area!

5777.jpg.71ecf46eb5dc5856c9015e4edd33b349.jpg

So we went on the observation tower to get some nice views of the park from above!

5770.jpg.0b421f82fb6398bec8386d8ca04277aa.jpg

Random flower shot taken while waiting in the train station.

5769.jpg.36d939724790ab90ce5261bc1c351977.jpg

This could have been a nice shot if the monorail wasn't there.

5768.jpg.6cee21a1c2fcdea400363a389c044497.jpg

Probably the best part of the ride!!! Cool!

5753.jpg.8ff7892448a06bc86a545c279ac05e4e.jpg

Then it was time for the last credit left: Limit!

5767.jpg.3c2b74884813cc13558ce0967d21b648.jpg

Random Vekoma close up!

5766.jpg.15ab04ce35e0a5525bbcfadb3883e191.jpg

Much better!

5765.jpg.0775bd9cd40aff9cf792b2caf131edb6.jpg

This monorail kept getting in the way!

5762.jpg.a7f01306e82ac0707a02e005682ef64e.jpg

When we all finished our ride on the bobsled coaster we saw that Big Loop was testing so we went there to get the credit.

5757.jpg.422f26632d0b4c30dbf1e06b8aee736b.jpg

From this picture you can have a pretty good idea about the weather we had. It's also a nice panoramic shot!

5758.jpg.806b428894d0eb426779f01a70fe3d1d.jpg

Everybody's having a great time on this ride!

5761.jpg.d0f2182654c704dfa5b8d54ef45a95a9.jpg

After a couple of nice rides on Desert Race we had only three credits left: the Vekomas and the bobsled coaster. We went on the bobsled coaster first.

5722.jpg.a91285375883fa2c91d8d49d1fb56444.jpg

Lets start this second part with a classic Colossos signature shot! Nice!

Thanks for the pictures of Heide Park. I'm really looking forward to getting my second Intamin woodie credit in this summer.

As for Desert Race's OTSRs even though there are no inversions:

FAIL FAIL FAIL

^Yea, but so does Kingda Ka......and Rita........and Stealth.

On that note, I was looking at some pics of Zaturn (basically a Stealth clone) and I came across this pic: http://rcdb.com/ig3454.htm?picture=9 Are those some new sort of Intamin restraints that I haven't really heard about?

Heide park looks outstanding. Much better than the UK's Merlin parks. I think Colossos's layout is far more appealing than El Toro's-more airtime hills, less turns, a bit more "raw." But I do not doubt the overwhelming opinions that ET delivers more. Although, your comment about Colossos being a bit rough was the first I have EVER heard about the ride. In fact, the only complaints about it I usually hear are about it being too smooth and steel-like.

Man, I wish I could afford that TPR Euro trip!

And matteocrepaldi I want to give you props for a great PTR. You've really put a great deal of effort into this, and for whatever reason have gotten hardly any responces. I have really enjoyed reading it.

April 24th 2008: Chessington World of Adventures; I arrived in London early so I decided to spend a couple of hours in this little nice park and get a couple of credits.

5877.jpg.0d611d42c7f4ccfcec352a299765fd51.jpg

I really like the theming of Vampire's station.

5875.jpg.a2b11d2949ed0aae118ea0b1ec5d381f.jpg

Then it was time for the other coaster I really was looking forward to ride; Vampire!

5870.jpg.fcd55572fec466285cc090d3b1b0018e.jpg

Just in case you forgot wich park you were in!

5868.jpg.03e51f0edf7aa67bc665b3738fbaa782.jpg

The 90 degrees turn from the queue line.

5874.jpg.f776e35089d02cad75fb0025e570737a.jpg

Easily the best coaster in the park!

5864.jpg.7118f02e9d94cad71617ffc25932949f.jpg

I loved this turn. It gives some pretty awesome airtime.

5866.jpg.3b284aeb046b9e796d0ea83f1e74336c.jpg

First drop!

5862.jpg.8da1fc7201361de0bc1a5bba1263136e.jpg

After Rattlesnake I decided to ride Dragon Fury. I don't like spinning ride but this one was really good!

5860.jpg.9868ed366f01100066137107279b1295.jpg

Same coaster, different angle.

5884.jpg.5e3bb1fb754ccdaddcc87c66411c6d5d.jpg

The first credit of the day was the wild mouse mine train coaster. It was nice but nothing special.

Finally I got to my destination!

5854.jpg.c6861a3c50916e657100b66024197bce.jpg

Welcome in the UK.

5852.jpg.102d3ca93d1e57efdd220c69f31e27f0.jpg

I left Italy with this nice view of the Alps.

5891.jpg.081e0ede38feed9e11018f372e626942.jpg

A sealion! The zoo looked pretty cool but I had no time to visit it.

Thanks for reading! Soon I'll post photos from Thorpe Park!

5889.jpg.046aa54a3ac296eb7149b81705c4d67b.jpg

Some of the queue lines were filled with water.

5885.jpg.8fa4ac0551ac2db8224a3d6bda299d4a.jpg

The Top Spin had one of the lamest cycle I've ever seen but I didn't ride it!

5881.jpg.bdece2bb47f9a0a98d302476dca65c6e.jpg

Dragon's Fury crazy helix and the airtime hill in the back. I was expecting more airtime on that hill!

5882.jpg.16984b6c9a1a4e23288d59a5d2b9b856.jpg

The last credit left was the powered mine train. This is the only photo I took of this ride.

5871.jpg.297c482ad9446c1bd4a70c181110e0ab.jpg

The park was almost empty!

5880.jpg.c7a5b8d117d5c546d8381da30cd4d23a.jpg

Random photo of me!

April 25th 2008: Thorpe Park.

5918.jpg.bf72777d104640b3bb0c47f6c37dfaad.jpg

I didn't like it. I think 5 inline twist were a little bit too much.

5917.jpg.7d0b3e02a59d08f75434d51992532db1.jpg

Then it was time for some inversions!

5951.jpg.cb7c6ee6ff5c03d25e511362c1da0b38.jpg

3... 2... 1... GO GO GO!!! The launch was awesome!!! Also the airtime on both the top hat and the camelback was pretty good.

5950.jpg.ec7d5dfbc7fee47b614c9439e5b21805.jpg

Finally, this was our train!

5911.jpg.bf6478544ac73ca1942400d8efb05ffc.jpg

Waiting for Stealth!

5910.thumb.jpg.8b36328e551345e10b32ae000d36482d.jpg

We wolked to Stealth to ride the fron seat while the line was short!

5908.jpg.ba558412e6cfe8dfb5de3fccb6727d06.jpg

We finally entered the park!

5900.jpg.265129f3682ef28e5ad03d8200bc5543.jpg

It was still a little bit early!

5904.jpg.1c74fafcabed3ab118e599ed2f29f7ca.jpg

Me and the best coaster in the park: X:No Way Out!

5901.jpg.0946727d5fcf299c7621ae3bc0867df9.jpg

While I was there I saw Nemesis Inferno testing and a worker climbing on Rush!

5896.jpg.8c0f94b066bc837bfc3d6cdd62f301a4.jpg

A nice view of Colossus with 9 of its ten inversions!

5893.jpg.c4876e2bacd3f7ce4f593223a935098f.jpg

I arrived at the park at 9am and I had one hour to wait for the park to open so I took some pictures!

5894.jpg.4072e70822c34752a8af2daa17f03fcc.jpg

Probably the best park entrance ever!

5892.jpg.0166e2af7c0aaad79ab65837efc651a4.jpg

Welcome to Thorpe Park!

5978.jpg.730c9652d622fba15603f300eefbd6a5.jpg

After we rode Flying Fish my friends left to go to Chessington.

I decided to go to watch Time Voyagers but it wasn't operating.

I'll post more photos soon!

5936.jpg.9ff921e5474a0373a4f534d3f6f6da58.jpg

After Detonato we went to ride X:WTF; I mean X:No Way Out.

We also rode Flying Fish but I have no photos of that one!

5930.jpg.f198af30abbb4109410fd5e56e7bb6b6.jpg

From Detonator you can have a good idea about how twisted Nemesis Inferno is.

5933.jpg.762af6c16023ae8ca71ef14fbc33da7c.jpg

Tine to ride Detonator!

5927.jpg.7392e8fd1b1284fa110e21a0fd4d2a58.jpg

Here's the second train.

While waiting to ride, I've calculated that with only one train running the capacity was 486 guest per hour!

5963x.jpg.49dc2cee5b3f663590d3353e4c437673.jpg

I wish this was real!!! I just put together two photos!

The line for Nemesis was pretty slow because they kept running only one train for the whole day!

5926.thumb.jpg.a0e35f4d5faed0f898367788265320e8.jpg

A photo of some happy riders on Stealth teken while waiting in Nemesis Inferno queue line.

5925.jpg.baed35f7e5e1b3893853b7e8ec617082.jpg

I love B&M!

5923.jpg.191b38579f3e5ddfeb3162d8368d5e7f.jpg

Nemesis Inferno passes pretty close to the queue line!

Nemesis it's a great ride, really intense and very smooth!

5921.jpg.071390c115353535f730ee95d0212b7c.jpg

After that it was finally time for Nemesis Inferno!

5920.thumb.jpg.c86a75773489e02ea48072658fc0484d.jpg

Maybe I'll ride it the next time.

5919.thumb.jpg.775e31436598ccef73b5d3b2dd2a57d5.jpg

Slammer sign looks pretty good!

5916.jpg.dcf499cea12a4150a8ed547dcb8257f4.jpg

My friends, after Colossus rode Slammer. I didn't ride it because I don't like this kind of flat rides.

5915.jpg.ff106038f6fbfd32ca02cf35490a4fc4.jpg

Another POV shot!!!

5914.jpg.33bf135f35181ca8696e29559f5a594d.jpg

POV shot from the famous Colossus support!

I had to take this picture!

August 4th and 5th 2008: ALTON TOWERS!

DAY ONE:

100_6235.jpg.4abdeefab686a65d8518570c015053a5.jpg

Ok... I'll leave you with this photo of Air in action.

I'll post photos of the second day including my visit to the caslte soon.

Thanks for reading.

100_6204.jpg.778b738a688fc35151108e6b4902f4df.jpg

Me and my friend Neno at the park entrance.

100_6197.jpg.f0db61846927c16e56a75cccba600309.jpg

This is my friend Neno on the powered mine train.

100_6194.jpg.bec3ebda978dfc5c654f275c3000241b.jpg

So we went on Duel to shoot up some zombies

100_6233.jpg.7ecbf22f5818fe4a5563c6da3add82c0.jpg

Lets move to the next ride which was Rita. IMO Rita is better than Desert Race.

After we rode Rita and the not so awesome Corkscrew we were done woth the credits so we went back to see what else we could ride.

100_6232.jpg.afe79a55327ad55a55875eaf6eabe723.jpg

Same drop different angle.

100_6218.jpg.e6da914b938e676a567af7826838456c.jpg

Some happy riders on oblivion are having lots of fun!!!

100_6217.jpg.448aabbf4b38c8ee8425b665b9090287.jpg

Signature shot with Oblivion in the back.

100_6224.jpg.f2d9eff1760566a79c38812e88ed820e.jpg

One goes up and one goes down.

100_6180.jpg.59f511fcf5b714c834847a2f02f7aab4.jpg

These wheels are really BIG.

100_6179.jpg.a4ff0a89ff0902ea37b46a917b972a97.jpg

Me and Ago while waiting in line for Oblivion.

100_6175.jpg.f37e56c786464be5daed8acebed6fa6b.jpg

Oblivion's dark and wet hole!

100_6173.jpg.85f2b2a902aa5c4e194734a6354cd152.jpg

It was finally time for my first dive machine!

100_6168.jpg.059fa0c28d1f2722a70fe6f5ac496317.jpg

After Spinball it was time to be a credit whore and ride the kiddie coaster.

100_6206.jpg.3b863abc4b7fb349e07d4775edf8a382.jpg

Spinball's theming was also pretty nice.

100_6205.jpg.3621fa39bf96eb6d92508d0165eaedfd.jpg

More Spinball fun.

100_6209.thumb.jpg.8568c9f28382a72f4e3b092371d87b0f.jpg

The first drop!

100_6165.jpg.c98fef1b9ea0b2cd48e0531e1627e498.jpg

We went to ride Spinball.

IMO it wasn't good as Dragon's Fury.

100_6162.jpg.a7cd3f5367e27f7e6ff616b2eabf8805.jpg

This is my friend Ago.

100_6164.jpg.cc1cc3021c4a89886c5fd1404d4624c5.jpg

After the second ride on Nemesis we took the Skyride to the park entrance.

100_6161.jpg.331100e4441449d650d68f942bd4f485.jpg

Random photo of Nemesis while walking to the single riders entrance.

Nemesis is the only coaster where the single rider line works well.

100_6144.jpg.04e860aaca622bf44f3431b0b46f7546.jpg

After me and my friends rode Air once, my friends went to ride Ripsaw and I went back in Air's signle rider line. Unfortunately Air broke down so I went to ride Nemesis using the sinlge rider line.

100_6150.jpg.81efecf8acc2e3cb3e9b2ecaf8d8d9cf.jpg

Prepare for Air!

100_6143.jpg.9082d63cd78797ee62a92aba00d98875.jpg

I really like this one. I hope you like it too!

100_6141.jpg.c5276d368320d9dca2e355e7c4fc8120.jpg

Hot B&M action vs hot Alton Towers employee.

100_6139.jpg.dd3ffdb285c008720e9e43cc687fa08e.jpg

I think that Air is better than Superman because it has a more interesting layout and the fact you are really close to the ground makes you feel like you are going faster than what you really are.

100_6155.jpg.1a01c7ca60b240f1327c5878e9c1267d.jpg

After Nemesis it was time for some Air!

100_6188.jpg.0e7c52ddb3446c41be730fda842ed17e.jpg

Me and Nemesis' theming. There's a train in the back.

100_6189.jpg.1e1798d35c696a3d4623fc39ea2f05be.jpg

A cool detail of Nemesis'theming.

100_6190.jpg.bfa4b7f80e90593ab0f93c54a531563b.jpg

I loved Nemesis.

100_6192.jpg.d2daf8ffa7a48f66fc9e2fbf21554e3c.jpg

When they let us inside we went straight to Nemesis to ride the front seat. It was ok. I was expecting more from it and when I rode it in the back I got what I was looking for.

100_6133.jpg.ac0a7033074c747bd6e468be697ad327.jpg

There was a big crouwd.

100_6126.jpg.d9332a40e377d4da15781a0c4df48e0c.jpg

One last look at Air from the hotel parking lot and it was time to go back to the main entrance.

We took the monorail to get a nice view of Nemesis and Air.

100_6124.jpg.a089d6468eba96dfa2edaeebb4113f26.jpg

This is Air's final turn around. If you look closely you can see the rocks you almost hit while riding.

100_6123.jpg.ab73ab0c48f15e257c6ef6b89b77fd72.jpg

More Air through the trees!

100_6118.jpg.62a8e341cb3c69172a06141b09d82fbb.jpg

Air's little pre drop through the trees!

100_6112.jpg.1ecc100a9146b551c65ba814e2ebd12e.jpg

We kept walking around the park and we found Air too.

100_6109.jpg.e457a1318f3d4dd84ca9bb5884111982.jpg

Can you see it? It's Nemesis' first drop!

100_6106.jpg.9d42dad46e1a24796f74970fb55fcb26.jpg

The castle from outside the park.

100_6103.thumb.jpg.c268485ec39ec63c097ad8ff06152c48.jpg

We arrived at Alton Towers at 8.30 am and the park was going to open at 10.00 so we decided to walk around and try to take some pics from outside.

I'm really enjoying this trip report!

Every Intamin accelerator coaster has OTSR except Xcellerator and Top Thrill Dragster.

Also Superman: The Escape and Tower of Terror. But those don't really count, do they?

I really like the look of Alton Towers. It's just so unique. Great Tr also, BTW.

Here comes DAY TWO:

100_6322.jpg.c626dfb87fcd3371653de068677551e7.jpg

And with this one I close this trip report.

Thanks again for reading!!!

100_6323.jpg.c1665ab87288fdaaeb6c586a83564db3.jpg

I should have waited one more second.

100_6321.jpg.77f5dab569de0b5d9b442dbd90a5781b.jpg

Signature shot with Air's train coming down the first drop.

100_6318.jpg.5c2024149def9b45961db2dbb5c2674a.jpg

I rode Rita twice: once from the regular line and once from the single rider line and I waited about the same time. I was really attempted to get a couple of fast tracks but with this kind of weather I didn't feel like it.

After the second ride I went back to the Forbidden Valley for more Air.

100_6307.jpg.ca64fb496222d95f3826f82ca35b23dd.jpg

The weather was still pretty bad.

100_6309.jpg.c30d4e945eb947353f2d1a0ddb6a3604.jpg

Here's a train waiting in the station for those happy riders to get in.

100_6298.thumb.jpg.75a482c56c2969d8dc3309ec373c8c37.jpg

INTAMIN!!!

100_6292.jpg.cddc5f5ea7cc9382b5084cb1149f99f3.jpg

This is what they use when Corkscrew brakes down.

100_6295.jpg.cc72b3abec6fdf85e3311b382b63a361.jpg

I love these supports.

100_6290.jpg.637a2b3652c42c2b8ba0ca7e12e51263.jpg

Time for some Rita. I used the regular line because I wanted to take some photos and because the single riders line didn't really work well.

100_6288.thumb.jpg.e4c86894db4fcada53b122ae3962487e.jpg

After I finished the visit to the castle I went back to Oblivion for another ride.

100_6285.thumb.jpg.7e5b3242900612cc7f45441a83ae3b2d.jpg

This window looks really good even if it's modern.

100_6287.thumb.jpg.30b9799fa6996aca4ac89df6255089fc.jpg

This is the chapel.

100_6284.jpg.41c90ef07aaf418acc6d27cb987fa036.jpg

Nice photos like this one even if the weather didn't help.

100_6279.jpg.e8391069506a6a80dc6aa2d7c1502f41.jpg

Another reason I went to visit the castle was because I wanted to take some nice photos of Oblivion from there.

100_6282.jpg.ae660a7f614fc26233d16c39dbc73967.jpg

Another view from the castle. That's the garden you walk through after you ride Hex.

100_6271.jpg.1a36be8ebbe7858685871986d9966740.jpg

This is me with my coffee in front of a really nice fire place.

100_6269.jpg.5ede9ad923fd057d69f57177cd03d740.jpg

Some rooms have really beautiful windows.

100_6276.thumb.jpg.854bff144d8af90a98dda8ae991918f1.jpg

One of the towers.

100_6275.jpg.9516be0474df9dc7e4433060f6124226.jpg

A view of the castle.

100_6272.jpg.2343963cdf17d259b21b74bbab6bcedf.jpg

There isn't much inside but it's really nice to walk around those places so full of history.

100_6268.jpg.107051ef5788c864236ea6f79bb81782.jpg

After Nemesis I rode Oblivion once and I went to take a walk around the castle.

100_6193.jpg.177f745849b5c5aa0889449ee4e9ea67.jpg

Nemesis'big gun. Looks pretty dangerous.

100_6265.thumb.jpg.3a986459e0a95b9c32a736e869f4a70d.jpg

More vertical loop awesomeness!

100_6264.thumb.jpg.be6098604763ebecdfb0dafa1dee93ce.jpg

Another train is flying out the zero-g roll and into the turn around.

100_6260.jpg.866f31d3c6b3413fdced91bd791e46e9.jpg

Vertical loop awesomeness with Air in the back.

100_6259.thumb.jpg.25da56760104d238f5dccd8f41c7dc16.jpg

Yes, this is the first drop! It's small but it works just fine.

100_6257.jpg.128268608a8188c373e3d93d157960cc.jpg

Some happy riders are about to go through the zero-g roll!

100_6256.jpg.a52daad04e9c787cd54f3cc1bee1c6e3.jpg

Time for some Nemesis action! The single rider line was closed so I waited in the regular one and I took some pics.

100_6255.thumb.jpg.77f08731d5983ac01b7e55fc7dc7329f.jpg

Here comes the train!

100_6254.jpg.666d4ab88de4617e5ebd6515758fc74e.jpg

Another train climbing the lift hill.

100_6249.jpg.382b79d4dc171e44fd780bc53d0a9b55.jpg

Random people going up the lift hill.

100_6236.jpg.d204dd7cc02d08f1a0db3f39656824df.jpg

First ride of the day was Air. I went there first because I wanted to ride the front expecting a different view but I found out that it was just about the same as the other seats.

100_6247.jpg.fc841b1784c51f6079c1a845ed37a19d.jpg

I really wanted to go around the garden but with this kind of weather I felt like it wasn't a good idea.

100_6246.jpg.98a3d60fa8a4e5371cf31754d0d02a72.jpg

So I was back to the park but today the weather wasn't as good as the first day.

I was sure it was going to get better later in the day but I was wrong.

I've lived in the same house in Stoke on Trent (which is just under an hour from Alton Towers) for my whole life. I've been there at least once every year since I was 5, but never been inside the castle!!! What is that about???

After seeing your pics I've definetly got to do it this year!

Your pictures look great man!

Piers: Do you live in the UK (I thought you were American ) or were you just on 'vacation'?
