Angry_Gumball
Comparing to satellite images of both CGA's parking lot, and the Oakland Arena, I'd say that parking alone for the Oakland Arena is probably double to triple of CGA's. Unless of course that's because there's 2 arenas on that property. Candlestick Park's lot is about the size of CGA's. I guess all we can do besides speculate things is to just watch and see. I'm sure most of our thoughts (benefiting CGA) are simply us dreaming and of course overlooked.
jjeerr
I saw a train coming off the lift closest to the station on Invertigo.

fatdaddy
Is there any way that CGA could put a parking lot somewhere on the other side of the park and just tram people in, even remote parking like they do at Disneyland.
Mechanic
It would have to be an extremely remote parking lot. There's not much in the way of unused land anywhere near the park.
808Freq
^^ yeah, I don't think this is GOOD for CGA. I know CF was fighting the inclusion of the stadium on this past ballot, so they obviously didn't want this to happen, why?, who knows. In the few articles I have read, it seemed CF was most concerned about the loss of revenue on 49er game days, stating they wanted the team(49ers) to pay CGA "x" amount of dollars on game days to make up for the loss in ticket sales, or something like that. I pass by the park frequently, and still can't figure out which parking lot they intend on using for the stadium... Â Â If the football dates are all you have to worry about, than all we are talking about are 10 days out of the year, including the preseason games. Obviously the possibility of more if they ever made the playoffs (hahahaha, good one, eh?). It seems like a minor issue if that's all. However, if the new stadium starts luring lots of other dates (concerts, etc)...
BobMan01
Hi Everyone, I'm new to the thread and just wanted to say a comment, since Patman hasnt lol  According to my sources Invertigo "might" open this coming weekend or next. They have already been re-attaching the plastic coverings, the ride looks more and more ready to go each day.  If you have a questions feel free to ask  Have a Great Day  Your Top Gun Rides Supervisor  I mean FlightDeck
Patman
You could also ask me. I'm the ride supervisor for Invertigo. Edited June 21, 2010 by Patman
Sunfire
^Finally! It's been a lonely season without the ride. I can't wait to get back to my air conditioned control booth.
Angry_Gumball
So is it confirmed then that our beloved Vekoma is just days away from reopening?
Patman
I wouldn't say confirmed, but we're getting very close.
CAGreatamerica
The Overlord is summoning his minions once again for our 2010 Halloween Haunt at California's Great America. Â I'm excited to announce that California's Great America will be hosting it's rehire event on Saturday July 17, 2010 from 10AM-3PM. New hires will be allowed to apply on 7/24 & 7/31 10AM-3PM. Â On the Invertigo side, we are hoping the ride will be open very soon.
Patman
Invertigo update! All the plastic covers have been put back on and we are running test cycles again, so we are very very close to reopening, I don't have a specific day though so we'll see. BobMan01
^ Â What he said hehe. I miss the sound of that coaster. Â Update for TopGun/FlightDeck if you guys haven't noticed already we are using a new PA Mic system that our unloader operator straps to his head. Our operators are really funny and can put a smile on your day so come check it out, if its a hit this season you just might see it at all of our major attractions. Angry_Gumball
I noticed that last month at CGA when riding Flight Deck...I kept hearing 'check...check...' over the speakers. It definitely sounds better (clarity-wise) than the standard mic they use...normally, it sounds like they're eating the microphone and can't understand any of what's being said. Angry_Gumball
Out of curiosity, anymore word on Invertigo? Or is it still cycling/testing? The anniversary of Invertigo's 'accident' is coming up shortly.
Patman
We finished commissioning Invertigo but the mechanics are still working out some bugs, and there is still no set date to open it. So it's pretty much wait and see at this point.
Columbia
Traditionally, Invertigo does not open for the start of the season. According to the mechs I spoke with when I worked there, it begins it's annual tear down/rehab right as the season ends and takes that long to get back up as it's quite a complicated attraction. It's usually up after two weeks into the season, so take it with what you will. Â Gotta get it, "smooth as glass" you know.* Â *Re: Robb Alvey's Coaster Season 2003
Tmcdllr
When would an announcement regarding a possible 2011 attraction be made? Obviously we hope its any kind of decent coaster to end the drought but I'm dying to know. I'm thinking an Intamin megalite could easily fit where the woodie was supposed to go, or even some kind of Maverick/Farenheight clone....anything! And, I believe it wouldn't be as loud as a woody so the bitchy neighbors won't complain (but they will anyway). With everything that's been going on I'm very curious about this.
Angry_Gumball
Well the latest dumper says that CF purchased several woodies. Hopefully CGA is part of this.
gforce532
Wasn't the park planning a GCI before the whole 49rs stadium issue came up. I remember hearing how the first drop/turn was going to go around the star tower. And the bulk of the ride was going to located in between the theater there and Xtreme Skyflyer. And I think I had saw a computer animation for it at one time.

And I think I had saw a computer animation for it at one time. Â Yeah it was supposed to be a Renegade clone set to open in 09 but alas the heighbors complaints about noise killed it for CGA.They need a new coaster & other new attractions to keep the crowds returning but I think what makes it so difficult for them to get new rides is the fact that the park is boxed in by all of those office complexes & residential areas. Tmcdllr
They could always throw another B&M in there and fill it with sand like Medusa, the trains on that ride glide so silently along the track. Ah screw the neighbors! They need to just put in something big and loud! Since the stadium, if It does get built, would be a lot closer to the residential area, won't the noise from it from games and events bother the neighbors? If a big, noisy, lousy stadium can be built they then I see no excuse for not allowing more coasters.
