rolercstrluvr
News from the park's FB page. Looks like Top Deck Flight Gun is getting some love this off-season, guess we'll have to wait and see if there will be anything new. Looks nice white actually. look how far they've gotten. vertigomkie
It's amazing how much more impressive Flight Deck looks with a sleek new paint scheme!
6flagsbrad
I hope it does get a little more color, maybe a dark blue somewhere in there.
Swornenemy
Kind of makes you wonder why vortex hasn't gotten a fresh coat of paint.
mark549
Kind of makes you wonder why vortex hasn't gotten a fresh coat of paint. Â I don't think more paint would help Vortex, the worst B&M stand up coaster (and I've now ridden all 7). I love B&Ms but not Vortex.
Vonni
It would be really nice if Flight Deck could get a new theme/new name like KI Flight Deck is getting. Maybe we will see that in the future. Â And my two cents on Vortex not being painted, I don't think CGA will keep it around for many more seasons, so why spend money on painting it? Of course I don't know that for a fact, but I would not be surprised at all if CGA next Coaster installation would bring with it the demise of Vortex. laqueefa
According to the FB that is just the primer. I can't wait to see what color scheme they go with!

gerstlaueringvar
Sell it to SFA lol two of the oldest B&M stand up coaster. Â Or sell it to SFMM and name it Riddler's Son
tarheel1231
B&M should start redoing trains for standups period. They're too uncomfortable and I think this is partly because of the hard hump between your legs (Insert "that's what she said" joke). Instead, the hump should be replaced with a flexible strap, something that allows the ride to feel comfortable while riding and adjustable so if they can't touch the floor, their legs won't ache after the ride. Here, something like this: Â I guess a better word for Flexible Strap is "seatbelt". But not only would the trains be comfortable, they would provide free-feeling. The hump and head banging (original) trains aren't comfortable and barely give you any space. I like my design better.
XYZ
The only thing I would change on stand-up restraints is to replace the OTSRs with vest restraints.
yay101
^ I think you should bring that up to B&M! I have to ask though, how are the restraints headbanging-eliminating? Are they like I305's?
tarheel1231
Somewhat. I was thinking more towards Gatekeeper and X-flight (without the bone crushing feeling).
singemfrc
Glad that's only primer. White looks good on a lot of coasters but I don't know if it fits Flight Deck. I've always though that matte black was a perfect color for FD and even sun faded it still looks pretty natural, I mean of all the rides in need of paint this is probably the least obvious. Whether Vortex is a better or more comfortable ride or not, visually it appears more in need of a coat of paint.
XYZ
^ I think you should bring that up to B&M! I have to ask though, how are the restraints headbanging-eliminating? Are they like I305's? Â By vest restraints, I mean more the ones found on flying coasters, wing coasters, and Banshee, with some modifications of course. If there's nothing to hit your head against, you can't have headbanging. (Plus, from what I heard, Arkham Asylum (WBMW Australia)'s new trains made the headbanging basically non-existent.) Â Somewhat. I was thinking more towards Gatekeeper and X-flight (without the bone crushing feeling). Â This is exactly what I'm saying with the vest restraints. Hercules
Am I weird for thinking Vortex isn't that bad of a ride?
Vonni
So out of curiosity, and I don't even know if anyone would really know or not, but why do most of CGA Coasters not have a roof over their Stations?

gerstlaueringvar
Looks like Vortex has some FAST transitions. Could be an amazing twisty floorless! Just hope that CF and B&M cooperate well
cfc
The only thing I would change on stand-up restraints is to replace the OTSRs with vest restraints. Â That might help, but I'm not a fan of stand-up coasters in general, and Vortex is, well, just kind of boring.
rolercstrluvr
Nothing will help vortex, give it the blow-torch.
dannyboy13
Vortex at this point is seriously one of the worst coasters I've ever been on. I remember right after it opened when I was a kid that I loved it. Every ride on it as an adult has gotten more and more painful though. Plus, it's what, 30 seconds long?
singemfrc
Vortex is just like Grizzly. It's nothing special, but it's not terrible; certainly not "lets just blowtorch it even if there's nothing to replace it with cause it's the devil" bad. Most coasters aren't as bad is everyone says. If you let your head just rag doll back and forth of course it's going to hurt..turn your head into the turns so that doesn't happen! If you think Vortex is really painful first try Revolution (Where ear jewelry is not just discouraged but prohibited cause it will get ripped out), Mean Streak's last row, or X2 on the outside with no one on the inside. Those are truly painful rides. (Kong is in the discussion too since, like Revolution, although it's possible to ride comfortably, it's unreasonably difficult to do so)
