Blue Fire Guy
Oh, and if anyone's interested, I recorded the audio from MMMM for all of us to enjoy! Hopefully, an 'official version' will make it to Soundcloud for our streaming pleasures I actually had this theme stuck in my head more firmly than Toy Factory's. Don't get me wrong, Toy Factory's theme was extremely catchy and added immensely to the WTF factor of the maze, but this...it just has something that makes it krazyglue into my head. At around 20 seconds into the recording, you can hear the butler say in a French accent: "Your time is soon, madames and monsieurs..." By the way, awesome TR! Angry_Gumball
^Don't feel bad, this song has been stuck in my head all day long, even moreso than the rest of the themes...and I've listened to the others quite a bit throughout the day today A little further in, you can hear Jeff talking about his dog too. After thinking about it more, MMMM has definitely solidified its ranks as being my favorite maze as far as the amount of detail/theming that was put into it. Because of the fact that it is very realistic as opposed to the more fantasy CarnEvil, Cornstalkers, Club Blood, Toy Factory, and even Slaughterhouse (SH comes next in line as far as realism goes), it pushes up the ranks for its creepy factor. While I still have yet to be startled in there, the overall maze just gave off these creepy vibes.
Flagg O'Dim
Great reports! Thanks for posting the theme song, it's now my #2 favorite Haunt song (second only to Carnevil). Gotta love the cushy carpets in MMMM. Something I forgot to mention about Slaughterhouse: I was disappointed that the bloody ice cream store entrance to the line is no more. Also, too many seizure-inducing strobe lights everywhere in the mazes!
Angry_Gumball
I noticed the plush carpets, was a couple seconds of relief to walk on after the long 14 hours at the park; my feet were thanking me for those brief seconds. Weird that I didn't notice it on my first visit.

VF7
Just curious, what model fog machines does the park use? I don't know about CGA but at Valleyfair we use Martin Magnum 2000's (For high fog output), Rosco Delta 3000's (For control), and Chauvet Hurricane Flex 1800's (For lower output). Angry_Gumball
Slightly off topic, I came across my 2007-2009 CGA maps earlier, decided to put them all together and snag a photo of all the seasons I've been going so far. About the foggers, I'm not sure what they use, but they output a ton of fog at a fast rate! I'm actually excited to try our new 1000-watt fogger we bought last year, as much as I doubt they'll put out as much as the high-end commercial foggers. Nibbler
What happen's if you press it? it rings to let them know they have special guests at the door. If you get a fright lane pass, push the doorbell button just to the left of the red doors.

Angry_Gumball
^Yay, more gold porn! Some more fun from the past weekend, during Boofet. I forgot that I even had this. My cousin tends to be a 'talent magnet' and during the "Boofet" she refused to surrender her brownie. They came back to greet her later

Angry_Gumball
Something that was spotted yesterday on the Global Winter Wonderland's Facebook: We'll be opening the day after Thanksgiving INSIDE Great America. We'll post daily updates on how this year's Global Winter Wonderland will be bigger and better! Stay tuned. http://www.facebook.com/Global.Winter.Wonderland Looks like it will take place inside of the park...now does this mean that some signature attractions will be running? This definitely means that I can now check out Goldy construction during the off-season...hoping that my season pass can be used to get in or for discounts. Someone had responded to our questions about the park and mentioned that some rides will be open. We'll just have to wait and see but I'm pretty excited! With this said, JeffyJosephNorcal and I noticed a white tent sitting in the back of CGA's lot next to the portables. Initially we thought that it was probably part of the stadium construction but after riding Flight Deck, I noticed some parts & pieces to some of the sculptures sitting in that area just outside the tent. If I hadn't known about the event, I would have initially thought that they were parts to a flat ride. UPDATE: Looks like a small handful of rides will be running: Carousel, Swings, Delirium, Bumper Cars, Berserker and most importantly, Flying Eagles! http://globalwonderland.com/great-america-rides/

I'm certainly looking forward to this! Seems as though they'll bring in some rides of their own as well. The GWW website hasn't confirmed exactly what the rides will be, but I'm hoping to expand my flat ride palate given that they are rides I haven't ridden yet. http://globalwonderland.com/carnival-games-rides/

Angry_Gumball
Love the use of X-Flight on the page promoting an event at CGA... Haha. Yea, that is pretty funny, it's not even a CF coaster. Speaking of the carnival rides and whatnot, betcha anything CGA will get a Wacky Worm! That will be CGA's new for 2012 addition that will be removed by 2013. Angry_Gumball
Well, not everything's all happy-go-lucky with CGA...remember a while back there was talk about the idiot who broke her wrist on CGA's bumper cars? Here's a new story, we'll see how far this gets (in which I hope the whole case just gets thrown out). DAVIS — The California Supreme Court grappled Wednesday with whether to hold amusement parks liable for injuries that occur during a ride's normal operation. Meeting for oral argument, the state high court considered a lawsuit filed by a woman who broke her wrist while riding a bumper car at the Great America amusement park in Northern California. She claimed the park had operated the ride negligently and should compensate her for the injury. Cedar Fair L.P., the company that owns the park, countered that riders assume responsibility for themselves when they knowingly hop on an attraction with inherent risks. "There is always going to be a slight risk in these activities," Jeffrey M. Lenkov, a lawyer for the park, told the jurists. If businesses are held liable for injuries on such rides, "it will be mayhem for the courts, it will be mayhem for business," he argued. The court has barred suits over injuries that occur under normal conditions in sports such as football or skiing, citing legal doctrine that recognizes some activities have inherent risks. Amusement park owners have asked the court to extend that doctrine to such rides as bumper cars. "The point of the bumper car is to bump," Justice Joyce L. Kennard noted during the hearing. If the court ruled in favor of the injured patron, would it mean "that no bumping is allowed on bumper car rides?" "Or course not," replied Mark D. Rosenberg, representing the plaintiff. He said that the park knew injuries might occur during head-on collisions, such as the one involving the female patron, and has since configured bumper car operations to avoid them. "We want to make the rides as safe as possible," he argued. Justice Goodwin Liu questioned how the court should "draw the line" in devising a rule that would protect patrons' safety but not invite "litigation over every bump and bruise that might occur on one of these rides." Chief Justice Tani Cantil-Sakauye observed that the design of the rides — heavily padded seats, big bumpers and seat belts — signaled to riders that there were risks. And Justice Marvin L. Baxter said that without limits on liability, "every case would go to the jury." Steven J. Renick, an attorney for the park, called the wrist injury "a freakish incident" and the only one of its kind to occur over two years on 600,000 rides. Park officials say she was injured when she put her hand outside the car to brace herself. The court previously has ruled that operators of roller coasters have a legal duty to use "the utmost care" to protect riders. But Justice Kathryn Mickle Werdegar on Wednesday distinguished roller coasters from bumper cars. Patrons can steer and push the gas pedal on bumper cars, but on roller coasters: "You have no control. It's scary," she said. The court, which met at the law school at UC Davis as part of an educational outreach program, will decide the case within 90 days. http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la-me-court-bumper-car-20121004,0,51776.story What kind of idiot would reach outside of the car to brace themselves? And leave coasters out of this incident, and they are not dangerous monsters like you're presenting them to be...face it, she broke a rule and suffered the consequences...she now needs to own up to her mistake rather than pass the buck onto the park. thursday evening rant> I don't see why amusement parks and even water parks can't be protected from these kinds of law suits...Especially with rides that involve rider control, variability, and the slight chance of a wipeout. What I am happy about is how there is some form of defense in the park's favor (as in, are they going to eliminate bumping altogether on the bumper cars, making them just...cars?). We'll just have to stay tuned and see what happens with this case...(which I thought it was all gone, bye-bye ages ago).
Double0Kevin
I get the feeling off of this article alone that they will rule in favor of the park. Seems like it was her fault.
Sunfire
"Please remain seated while the ride is in motion, and KEEP YOUR HANDS AND FEET INSIDE THE CAR AT ALL TIMES." From that alone, the park should win, the only reason this suit would ever be valid (which it really isn't) would be if the operator did not say the safety spiel, then the woman could claim ignorance to the rule.
