goldstriker13
OMG Gold Striker looks so incredibly awesome! & I already knew the name & was hoping it would be Gold Striker! You should see the posts on Facebook. All those idiots on there are complaining things like another wood coaster? Why would anybody complain? I am so grateful & thankful! How do I get invited to the media event before opening day of Gold Striker so I can get rides in before the public? I really want to be there! Mrlittle
It looks like its going to be a fun ride. Maybe not a lot of air time but I bet some of those turns will be great. Just another reason added to my list for me to go back to California theme parks
3Mutts
Glad to see the park finally get this since if it didn't it would have been Geuaga Lake V 2.
Lady Gaga
I love how the trains match the 49ers colors. Â Stoked for this addition though! Looks like a good solid ride. This place was my homepark and I will always have a special place in my heart for it. Glad they're finally getting something new!
Coaster Palooza
Just got back from the Media Day event at CGA. It was a great announcement and the theming of it was spectacular. rollercoasterbuff
It looks like a fun ride. I don't know what I was really expecting, however this coaster really didn't "wow" me. Like I said though, It does look like a fun ride. It fits in nicely as well to the park. Â Cyrus
SoCalCoasters
I have a feeling CGA will strike gold with this new addition, Â I'm looking forward to seeing this CGI addition to the park. I have a feeling the GP will be pretty ecstatic as well! Â Wait... the coaster won't even be real!? Just CGI? Lame. Â Â I blame autocorrect. But hey, for now it's just CGI. VinTheAttendant
Wow, the "Au" in "Au13" just hit me. Congratulations CGA, this ride looks like a winner. While I've never actually been to the park, it sounds like something like this was exactly what the park desperately needed.
Angry_Gumball
I was really happy to be part of the event! I will have an alternate report up later, glad to help rep TPR as well . Some of us TPRers are now headed over the hill to SCBB to celebrate and bid farewell to Hurricane! Edited August 30, 2012 by Angry_Gumball
robbalvey
Wow, the "Au" in "Au13" just hit me. LOL! Not to poke fun, but.... someone didn't pay attention in chemistry, I guess! Â I thought that was pretty much a given....
TPDave
Looks like California's wooden coaster shortage is easing! Â The event looked really good (great pics!) but I can't see any detail of theming for the ride on the CG images, hopefully that will all be announced later
ProwlerPrey
This looks like a fantastic ride, great speed at the beginning. However..... Two trains will accommodate 24 passengers each (four riders per car and six cars per train) Um... I thought they were using Millennium Flyers for this... darklingscribe
Looks like a fun ride, and god knows the parks needed something new, but this definitely doesn't look like one of GCI's top designs. Then again I've learned from experience not to prejudge GCI, some of there greatest rides look bland from the pre rendered POVs.
Jew
It's still going to turn out to be at worst the 2nd best ride in the park. That's A(u) OK in my book! Â Glad the park is finally getting another major ride.
brock_boehm
I think it seems great! I'm sure it will be a really fun coaster. Â 2 down, 2 to go!
alpengeist04
^^Very true. They had me excited about this project as soon as I heard it was going to be built by GCI.
Tmcdllr
AWESOME! This ride is perfect for the park and a huge step in the right direction...... finally! Â A really good use of that area that has basically sat there, empty for decades. Â Can't wait to try it! Â Â Â Â Yup, it's for real!
JRHcoasterki
I am SO happy for CGA! I'm so happy that they are getting a new coaster after all this time! And while I don't think it will be a crazy airtime machine, I think Gold Striker will be perfect for CGA and I can't wait until we can see the final product! 3Mutts
^ I wouldn't say crazy air time, but I do see air time on that speed hill after that very cool first drop around the Star Tower.
Myself
I note that Cedar Fair (probably as a result of their original intent to sell the park) has a far more limited CGI rendering than most of their parks. When, say, CP or KD gets something, nearly every major structure is rendered onto the map, no matter how close or far away they are from the subject new ride. Here, we only have Gold Striker's immediate surroundings. Not a complaint by any means, I just think it's funny. Â The ride itself looks like some of the GCI goodness we've come to expect. I don't foresee being able to ride it in the near future, but it does look fun.
gisco
Intersting that they say the ride is over 2 minutes but the POV, station to station is 1:40.
SharkTums
I wonder if we'll see any of the newer Millennium Flyer trains on this like in Europe which allow for a lower height restriction in certain seats.
coastered
Intersting that they say the ride is over 2 minutes but the POV, station to station is 1:40. What you see at 1:40 is not the station itself but only the final brake section and transfer/storage area.
