Henry M
^ Yep. It is funny because D.Ellis is really NOT a mental guy, yet that looks insane. Pretty sure this is over 200 feet, so is it a hyper?
I Like Theme Parks.
^I guess it's a hyper if you count it by drop/height, not by the traditional style. Now that I think about it, most mountain coasters have huge "drops" since after the lift they only go downhill and it's all one shallow "drop!" You get my logic, however, it is not, because it does not feel like one. You would not come off and go, "possibly in my top three hypers" however, I feel it can work the other way around, so Ex G for me is my only and top hyper. It is how I imagine one to feel, so until I get on a real one, that is staying as my top hyper.

All mountain coasters have changes of elevation over 200 feet!

Henry M
^ Oi! I can take s**t from the people higher up, but not from you. There is no need to continue to insult my opinion even after someone else, who has far more power has already said something. Yes, I KNOW Expedition GeForce is not tall enough, but it is still a massive coaster, which follows the same type of rules of a hyper coaster. When I get on a proper one, it will no longer be counted as a hyper by me. As for the alpine coasters, I KNOW a alpine coaster with a 200ft+ drop is not a hyper coaster. I would not even count it as a coaster full stop. Lots of this is opinionated. For example the discussion on what is a coaster, and what does not count. Everyone has their own ideas, and different views. There is no strict definition of a rollercoaster, but my definition will may different to yours. That is life. So, please could you not insult me. Leave it to the people who know what they are doing. By all means I do not mind being told I am an idiot or have something wrong with me from Mr Larrygator, or Mrs Shark Tums, or Mr Alvey, or even some of the "big player" members on here, like Mr Coasterbill and Friends. But not you.

ImNotOneOfYou
which follows the same type of rules of a hyper coaster. A hypercoaster (occasionally stylized as hyper coaster) is a type of roller coaster with a height or drop over 200 feet (61 m) and completes a full circuit. Henry M
My definition of a coaster is: 1. It has to coast up hill under its own momentum 2. The track has to make some lateral movement, like turn, loop, etc. 3. It must stay on the track the whole duration. If all this is satisfied, I count it as a coaster. And as I said before, I KNOW Ex G is not a hyper. I am not stupid. I have put across the point that it is the closest thing to a hyper, so for me it is my top hyper. bert425
except it's not a Hyper. you, yourself admit this. so the solution is to adjust your description. don't say: "it's my top hyper" say: "it's my top coaster that's closest to a hyper" there. . your problem is solved. DoinItForTheFame
What makes MF so incredibly great? To me it just looks like an oversized B&M Hyper.
Henry M
^ I thought he had a point. Many people do not find it as forceful or intense as the other Intamin Hyper (Or MEGA!!!!!!) coasters, and many people consider some B&M hyper coasters to be boring, like Leviathan. If he does not like it, that is his opinion. I am getting a little fed up with people saying peoples opinions are "Dumbest things said on TPR". He even said afterwards that he knew he was a minority. ytterbiumanalyst
There are no words for this.... Why do lift hills count toward the ride time? Sure you are on the ride and sure it is moving but is that really part of the ride? When a ride is say 2 minutes and 30 seconds but the lift hills takes 1 minute 45 seconds that leaves only 45 seconds of ride. If the lift is a launch like Maverick or Hot Rod then that's part of the ride.
cal1br3tto
I am very disappointed in Six Flags Over Texas. I am deleting the park from RCT 2. Well, that'll show 'em!
CaptainUnknown
From the Silver Dollar City Thread about their new for 2018 Launched Mack Spinner, Time Traveler It's a shame these parks keep thinking they have to do something "never done" before. This looks awful with spinning cars for various reasons. It would have been a great ride with Blue Fire trains. This definitely looks like a great formula for injuries. There is no way that these inversions are designed to be taken at every possible angle......
TwistyTie
I think that in the next few years Cedar Point will turn Mean Streak into a hybrid coaster because now that is the only rough ride. I just want to point out that this was posted in this thread in 2014...

Dombot
From the CP thread: I'm only going to say this once... We will be posting the announcement tomorrow as soon as the materials are available to us. PLEASE DO NOT POST ANY LINKS OR IMAGES TO THE ANNOUNCEMENT BEFORE TPR DOES! Anyone who does this will be banned forever from Theme Park Review. Let me explain... Posting the new ride information before we can do it actually creates MORE WORK for us as most of the time people who come on our forum and post info about a new ride will do a crappy job of it and then we have to not only do the work we are going to do to make a proper post about the new ride, but also clean up the garbage posts that people make. No one here will get any extra points or look any "cooler" for being "first" to post the information. We aren't about being first we are about having good quality content. Please respect that. Thank you. Everyone please read this again. So linking to an official press release and quoting it verbatim, EXACTLY as TPR would do themselves, is a "crappy job," a "garbage post," and a bannable offense? Okay, LOL. Gotta love how disposable people who have been part of making this website what it is for over a decade are to ol' Alvey, I would know first hand. There's a reason nobody who actually means anything in this industry likes the guy. I literally re-registered just to address this (Hey Robb, your cute little "permanent" IP ban went away after 30 days or so and I've been happily browsing the forums again ever since - kind of pointless when VPN's are a thing anyway, don't you think?). No, you've all been brainwashed into THINKING this "isn't about being first." It's about YOU not being first, so Robb can be, because he's a fragile little unhinged egomaniac. Guy is one of the worst human beings on the planet. Gotta love someone who demands respect but is incapable of giving it to anyone else. I'm going to keep coming back, Robb, I'm going to keep reminding you what a piece of shit you are, and I WILL ruin your life.

Philrad71
Sorry - I just had to... People like you who say garbage like this are why I'm so glad Trump won. It's good to rattle the cages from time to time. Plus, really? Consider the alternative. That bitch is batshit crazy. At least our President now has balls, which is not something I can say our Presidents have had in a very long time. And he deals with f**king morons like you every day, and still goes out there to stand up for what he believes is best for the country anyway. America Strong!
