Cameron
Oh man - I just *have* to get to SFDK this year, it looks so great. The elephant bath was particularly cute! Thanks for the pictures. Cameron.
SLUSHIE
I still haven't gotten used to that name. My work had discount tickets sitting in HR and I was like wow where is this place! I'm pretty excited for the new coaster, but I would have liked it more if they put it inside the park... not on the flat parking lot.
Team Thriller
SFDK is one of the nicest SF parks out there. As I don't really miss Zonga that much, it did make the skyline look very nice and colorful. Tony Hawk Big Spin looks like it will be a good addition to the park. --James

I'm pretty excited for the new coaster, but I would have liked it more if they put it inside the park... not on the flat parking lot. I agree, but where else would they put it? The space was already prepped because of Zonga and they don't need to do any extensive amount of construction to install Tony Hawk. If you look at it's clone in BonBon-Land http://rcdb.com/ig3802.htm?picture=2 , you'll see that it is basically going to be a permanent version of one of those "parking lot" coasters that you might see in some traveling fairs. RCFreak
Dude, Awesome TR! I haven't been to SFDK since 2001 and the only credit I actually have from CGA is Stealth lol. Definitely hoping to make it up later this year though.
Big Mike
I am excited to partake in Coaster Palooza this weekend!!! SFDK in October! See you Saturday Peace, Big Mike
Coaster Palooza
^We're looking forward to this weekend also Mike. I have to say that SFDK has changed a lot similar to how SFMM has. All of the rides were operating, they had new paint, and the staff was very friendly. We went to the Holiday in the Park last year and had a blast. I wish I would have done a TR for it. Things are changing, I can only hope that SFOG is just as fun this weekend! Thanks for the comments guys.
cfc
My experience with SFDK has been driving by it during the off season--thanks for the look inside, Rick. DK does look like a park that's moving up. I remember when the old Marine World park used to be in Redwood City.
BeemerBoy
^We're looking forward to this weekend also Mike. I can only hope that SFOG is just as fun this weekend! Same here. It'll definitely be a good day as long as we avoid the rain. Forecast is sketchy as of this morning. Thanks for the report, Rick. It definitely helped change my opinion a bit on SFDK....for the better.
Coaster Palooza
Coaster Palooza continued with a quick trip to the South. We headed to SFOG for Spring Fling and then went to Dollywood. We met up with a few TPRs at Spring Fling and had a real blast. Big Mike was there along with his “partner” for the weekend, Rich (sfne2005, or Hot Fuzz). We also met Beemer Boy (Scott) and his wife Shannon. Everyone posted some trip reports and the links to them are below. I would like to say that Spring Fling was a blast, even though it did rain. I am glad we stuck with Rich’s agenda. Seriously Rich, thanks for having us stick with it. I have no patience for waiting, but without your help I don’t think we would have ridden the Georgia Cyclone. Weren’t we supposed to head over to the yellow coaster at that point? It was also great to have Scott and Shannon show us around their home park. When you have “locals” with you, it makes the park that much easier to navigate. The pictures should take care of the rest of the story. Beemer Boy’s Link http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=42755 Rich (Hot Fuzz, aka sfne2005) Link http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=42754 Big Mike, the master of self promotion Link http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=41995&start=70 Coming back in and we were too! After a quick ride on the swings, Rich waited in line to ride Mind Bender. He was so happy... I just don't know sometimes. I will let Shannon sing this song in a video later. Hopefully I can get it posted soon. Then we got smart and moved into the station where Rich almost got into a major discussion over bouncing basketballs and how annoying that can be. Oh yeah, the power went out at one point also. We are waiting out the rain in the bathroom area by Georgia Cyclone. Rapid falls, I guess. With all the rain that fell later on, I think this could have gotten filled up. You're happy now. We had to wait in the brake run for a little bit though! Thanks for having us stick it out here Rich. Your agenda worked out, until you and Big Mike broke the ride and Shannon didn't get to ride it. So Rich, how tall is the tower? Scott and Shannon rode it too. Who is that waiting for the front row? It's Big Mike! I have a video of Mike getting stapled into his seat. I will post later. Yeah, that's the name Next up on the list, the mine train. Gyendolynne with Marvin Just in case you forgot what WE look like. Back to the station, and how was your ride? I think Rich is getting more enjoyment from the ride OP instead of the ride itself. Hey guys, enjoy your ride. Great theming in this area. With the park being open, we needed to get the kiddie coaster out of the way. As you can see, Rich is modelling the newest form of 6-flags bag policy wear. If you can get this vest, you too can be as cool as Rich. I took a couple of photos of the the sexy new style of vest wear this year. We rode Batman to get this one checked off of Rich's agenda. Behind the scenes with the Big Mike Roadshow. What? it isn't running! Rich's agenda is being foiled. We went to Gotham instead so we could ride MindBender and Batman. Rich's agenda is coming around! I know it is hard to see, but these kids are running for Goliath. Been there, done that, got the t-shirt. Just in case 3 times wasn't enough, we rode it for a fourth time in the front row. It is a great ride. Sorry ya'all had to wait for us. Here's our third ride Yep, that's Rich and I riding for our second time. Our next ERT session It's a nice layout, but I don't know about this one either. We held on a little bit. Gyendolynne has some comments about this too that she shared with Shannon, but that's another story. Next up, some more ERT! The happy bunch saying, "we will never ride that thing again!" Ninja was a one time ride. The TPR folks at Spring Fling. Beemer Boy (Scott) and his wife Shannon joined up with us. No concussions for us and we can still walk upright. We're coming back from our headbanging experience. Gyendolynne got bored with us riding Scorcher and thought it would be better to take a photo of the good coaster. Rich and I decided to ride the Scorcher twice! Why, I don't know. Gyendolynne took this picture with Rich just to make sure he knows he is loved too. All the ladies love Big Mike. My wife is no different. Sorry Larry The first train coming back. They ran a two train operation for ERT. This is what an empty station looks like. Goliath ERT We have an agenda though. We're heading to Goliath while following Rich, who has never been to the park before. Here he is ladies and gentlemen, the master of self-promotion, BIG MIKE!!! Who's this? I can't wait any longer... Goliath is getting all warmed up for us. We made it to Spring Fling! You can throw your peanut shells on the floor. We didn't do anything the first day except eat dinner at Logan's Roadhouse. Nothing like a first class upgrade, unless you get booted from your seat 10 minutes after you take this photo! Time for the red-eye to Atlanta
Coaster Palooza
Continuing Spring Fling at SFOG... Big Mike is actually really shy. Dollywood will be posted soon! That is all from this installment. Mike did get interviewed by this guy at the end. We really had to "encourage" Mike to do this interview. and here's the star of our show, Bugs Bunny, no, Daffy Duck, no Big Mike is the star! Uh-oh, what's this? Is Rich getting sweet on Big Mike? Watch out Larry! Just the ladies, see, I told we took a number of combinations. In case you didn't know, Mike is the ladies' man! The TPR bunch. Georgia's check Time for the checking off of Big Mike's shirt and other photos of the group. We took so many pictures of different combinations. and a cup of ice-cream for himself. Scott got Shannon a cone... Rich found his way back to us after getting a soggy ice-cream in a neat roller coaster holder. We actually took cover inside the restaurant because of the lightning. It is pouring pretty bad. Big Mike! The girls figured the best way to stay dry would be to eat some tacos, nachos, and burritos. Another behind the scenes look at the Roadshow. Hi Gyendolynne! Everyone else enjoyed the carousel. Maybe he isn't smiling. Just before I snapped this, he actually had his eyes shut. I think he is bored out of his mind. Even Rich is smiling...underneath. The group is so happy to get this credit! It really started to rain bad, so we knew we had to ride something under a cover. How about a relocated, one of the oldest carousels? cfc
Hmm--after considering Six Flag's new "loose items" policy, I now see the logic of Rich's vest. Maybe I should break out my "safari vest" the next time I hit an SF park.
dougr
Small world! (Not the ride at Disney) We were at CGA 3/16 (bummed at Flight Deck closure as well, at least it was open Friday 3/21) and our fourth day at SFDK was 3/23. Got some pictures of Invertigo on 3/16, and also got lots of pictures of Medusa all four days.(3/23 update coming later). Ride from Invertigo 3/16: Did a little tweaking on your lizard Our on-ride from Medusa 3/23. We waited to ride the front row, then found out we had to wait for the other photo tech to get back to print up our onride!
Coaster Palooza
^Thanks for tweaking the lizard photo. I think we might have seen you at SFDK. I hope you enjoy the TRs. It is going to be a long year!

Big Mike
Hey Rich! Awesome trip report. Now it gets me excited to do mine! I just hope mine can be half as good as yours Love you guys! Say hi to Gyendolynne for me. Peace, Big Mike

Which as unsexy as it is, I don't have to store any loose articles beeyotch! Find me a vest that stores my neon yellow SFDK collector cup, and there you go. Or I could just spend a whole dollar and put all my valuables somewhere secure for a while.
Coaster Palooza
I'm adding a couple of short video clips. RIP Psyclone
I wanted to see Shannon lol Well, at least I wasn't the first to say it, but it would be a lie to disagree. Coaster Palooza
Sorry about the video problems. I don't know too much about uploading the video. I zipped videos one time and they weren't able to be viewed unless you downloaded them. I uploaded the videos this way this time so you could view them without downloading. Maybe someone can explain to me how to upload a zip file and still be able to watch the video without downloading.
MonkeyPants
Nice TR, Rick! Looks like you two had another great time! I love those faster, racing go-karts... We have one near us here in Michigan. It's super fun. I'm a little jealous of all that behind-the-scenes stuff you and the the TPR crew got to do... Maybe next time!
Coaster Palooza
^Mark, maybe we'll see you sometime soon. We're trying to figure out a way to get to Cedar Point this year. Here are a few Dollywood On-Ride photos. Hopefully I will get the rest of the photos up tonight or tomorrow. Thanks! Neither one of us get what the big deal is about Thunderhead. It is a great ride, but we didn't think it's the best woodie out there. Tennessee Tornado turned out to be surprisingly smooth. Myster Mine! There is no mystery to how painful this ride is though.
