Carowinds Discussion Thread

P. 418: Camp Snoopy expansion announced including new family coaster

Recommended Posts

The lights on the lift is highly direction. You cant see it from Charlotte at all it's a faint dull glow. It's only bright coming into the entrance road to carowinds and then dulls out once you approach the toll plaza. You have to literally be facing the way the camera is set up to get the bright excessive glow, Which I for one like. I also like that it's a steady light . Intimidator, Thunder Road and Woodstock Express all have chaser lights on the lifts hill. Plus Fury325's support are suppose to be alternating between white and green also.

The lighting around the station is cool, but the super-bright lights along the lift hill are excessive.
This.

Seriously this is how I feel about the lighting. Yes the station lighting is pretty cool. But the lift hill lights are a bit much.

Have you seen it in person? I don't think we can properly judge through a camera lens.

Asking again, are there any enthusiast ERT events announced coming up this season for Carowinds?

Sure, there is an ACE event in Aug. The park use to do their own event, they say they are bringing it back. Not sure if its gonna be this season...it was called "coasterstock".

Thanks! Sounds like a better bet would be to try and plan something for daily operation or one of the april weekends.

Just saw that Charlotte is expected to get 5-8 inches of snow tonight, so it's a good bet that we won't see any Fury 325 test runs until at least next week. Although, this could make for some nice pictures of Fury 325 covered in snow.

Looks like they didn't get nearly the amount of snow forecasted. Looks like about .5" perhaps in the grass...if that. While I'm excited to see the finishing of construction, I was a bit bit disappointed to wake up and not see the area covered in snow. Oh well...Construction On!
