Sorry to break in during the middle of all the speculation but I have a few questions. My friends and I are going to Pigeon Forge August 9 - 17, and we decided that one day we're gonna make the 3 hour drive to Carowinds for a day. We're looking at going during a week day for lighter crowds. Which day would be best to go for the lightest crowds? What should we ride first, and what order after that? Any special areas to hit up or recommendations.... besides all the coasters? Any help would be great, thanks.

Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday are good days to visit. I personally like Wednesday since it's in the middle of the week, so probably more people working. If you're planning on riding all of the coasters, head to Nighthawk first to beat the lines. Ride Intimidator after that. Your choice after that.

 

If you could, could you get some pictures of the construction for next year?

If it's not a complete red herring I'm thinking it's making reference to Intimidator... suggesting that this will be a bigger and better version of that.

Carowinds Announces Key Changes to its Executive Team

- New General Manager Named to Lead Multi-Year Expansion

 

CHARLOTTE, N.C., Aug. 1, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Carowinds, the premier entertainment destination of the Carolinas, is in the midst of a significant multi-year expansion. As previously announced, Cedar Fair will invest more than $50 million at Carowinds for new rides and attractions, new and upgraded food locations and general infrastructure improvements. In anticipation of these long-term plans, Carowinds has also announced changes in its executive team. Mike Fehnel has been appointed to the position of Vice President and General Manager of Carowinds and will oversee all aspects of Carowinds operations and its planned expansion. Fehnel replaces Bart Kinzel, who resigned earlier this month. In addition, Gary Chadwick has been promoted to the position of Vice President, Resale. He will report to Fehnel and oversee all aspects of in-park revenue.

Fehnel comes to Carowinds with more than 20 years of experience at its sister property, Dorney Park in Allentown, Pennsylvania, where he most recently held the position of Vice President and General Manager. Over the years, Fehnel served in a variety of leadership roles throughout Games, Merchandise, and Food and Beverage. Chadwick was promoted to his position after serving for many years as Director of Merchandise and Games at Carowinds.

 

Carowinds is owned and operated by Cedar Fair Entertainment Company, a publicly traded partnership that is listed for trading on The New York Stock Exchange under the symbol "FUN." In addition to Carowinds, Cedar Fair owns and operates ten other amusement parks, three water parks, one indoor water park, and five hotels. Cedar Fair also operates the Gilroy Gardens Family Theme Park in California under a management contract.

I dont know how to feel about the name "Centurion", assuming that is the name that will be used. I was just hoping for something a little more original and stand out.

^ I thought the name was most likely going be Fury 325. If you look up the trademark for Centurion, nothing from cedar fair comes up, but if you search Fury 325 its the first thing that shows up. I personally like Centurion better then Fury 325.

@Goldsteh on Carowinds Connection is reporting that there is track coming from Charleston S.C. On 26!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We have reports on Carowinds Connection that track is on 26 headed presumably to Carowinds from Charleston.....looks like this could be an Intamin.
