Big Mike
Hello Valuable Big Mike Readers!!!   Thursdays mean something to do by an amusement park that you are visiting!   Big Mike has had a running tradition to visit every Major League Baseball Stadium, and this was a part of his past accomplishments.   While visiting Six Flags over Georgia, or any of the other small parks nearby, if it is baseball season, Turner Field is right there for you to experience!   Big Mike has been averaging about two ball fields a year, and looks to continue it this year with Wrigley Field, which is on Big Mike's Top 50 Always Wanted To Do List!!  Who knows, maybe even Dodger Stadium or the California Angels in a few weeks if time permits!   Hope everyone enjoys!   Peace, Big Mike   PS - Reader of the Year Update!!!! So far this has been a bad week lol. No one has matched a single number all week so far in the Mon, Tue, or Wed drawing!   Turner Field! Home of the Atlanta Braves! A walk around outside the stadium has some sights to see like this Hank Aaron statue! 601 feet away from home plate right now. More statues. The longest "Continually Operating" franchise in baseball. Big Mike inside! What is that set up in the distance?? Hey, it is the Tom Glavine number retirement ceremony! Big Mike went to get a better view. Here is the set up. Do you want to know what is covered up on the far right? Big Mike can show you! They were a shirt and a painting. Tom Glavine everybody! If you can't see him too well, here is a better look. The new retired number! The other retired numbers. Since we are in Brave's Country, Big Mike will show you some more of it. Braves Museum and Hall of Fame. The main Hall of Famer, Hank Aaron! All time Brave's stats! A look inside the museum. A tribute to the old Fulton County Stadium. Turner Field was a fun time and a great place to visit! Big Mike checks the Braves off of his list of stadiums to go see a game at. Another field down and on to the next ball field!   Hope you enjoyed!   Peace, Big Mike
sspaz1000
I love Turner field. It's a great ball park!
simon8899
I always wonder how the championchips are a "world series" - I've never seen teams from europe, asia or africa participating....
HighRoller
It looks like a great park, thanks! The last time I was there, it was still called "Olympic Stadium" and still had a track... Â Have you made it to MLB's newest park, Target Field, yet? Â Similarly, did you get to the Metrodome before the Twins moved out?
ahecht
It's neat to see how different stadiums can be from each other. I've only been to Dodger's Stadium, Angel's Stadium, Fenway Park, and Camden Yards. I've also been to the Astrodome, but it was 3 years after the Astros moved out. Big Mike
Hello Valuable Big Mike Readers!!!   Another week of Big Mike Road Show episodes have come to an end, with this making 70 new for 2012 Big Mike Road Show episodes!   As with every Friday episode, it is something Big Mike related, and this one is a very special update!   My friends Nick and Amanda were getting married and they asked The Mighty Big Man to come and share the special moment with them!   Oh, did I forget to mention they were getting married on the Phoenix roller coaster at Knoebels too??? Big Mike was in!!!   So, if anyone was interested in getting married on a roller coaster, check this episode out thanks to The Big Man!   Hope you enjoy!   Peace, Big Mike   PS - Big Mike has decided that the "Super Epic" Contest was a complete flop, and I guess not many people are interested in winning a free 2013 season pass, so the 10 people who already entered will still be allowed to compete in a smaller version of the contest called the "Not So Epic" Contest and Big Mike will roll over the free 2013 season pass grand prize to the "Find the DOUBLE Ducky Game", which will be moved up and started this year!  Big Mike will still take ONLY SIX more entries into the "Not So Epic" Contest and that is it! If you have any interest at all in playing, NOW is the time to enter!  To see the rules and enter, or to see any of the previous 69 episodes, click this link: http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=1138984#p1138984    Big Mike and special guest Kozmo:    Big Mike and the happy couple on the carousel:    The newly married couple driven around the park by Dick Knoebel himself:  Big Mike visits Knoebels for a special occasion, and no, it is not for the opening of Flying Turns! The special occasion is my friends Nick and Amanda's wedding! Where are they getting married you may ask??  The Phoenix roller coaster of course! Since this wedding was pre-Megan, Big Mike's date was Kozmo! The bride walking down the aisle, or in this case, the exit ramp! The wedding was performed by Reverend Cliff Herring, a roller coaster enthusiast himself! The start of their new life together. The happily married couple! Since they took the front seat, Big Mike and Kozmo shared the back seat together! Kozmo couldn't wait to tell them how much of a thrill it was to ride the coaster with the legendary Big Mike Look what was waiting for them at the end of the ceremony!! This is better than a limo ride for sure, and look who they have to drive them, that's Dick Knoebel!!! Knoebels really went out of their way to make this day super special! Nick and Amanda wave goodbye and Dick drives them around the whole park! The bride and groom took some spins on the carousel next. Big Mike was having a blast, not only because he attended his friend's wedding, but also, he got to ride his favorite carousel again! Exclusive ring dispenser shot! Big Mike just loves trying to grab that ring! Hmmmm, Big Mike really seems to clean up very well! I wonder if Big Mike dressed like this to every park, if he would get more hot babes than with his Official Big Mike Road Show World Tour T-Shirt?? For example, this girl should be videoing the wedding couple, not fixated on The Big Man!!!!! The happy couple left their horses so that they could ride together and were just about to kiss when...... ..... Big Mike popped into the picture! Best wishes to my good friends Nick and Amanda!! Thanks for the invite so that I could share in the special moment!  Hope everyone enjoyed!   Peace, Big Mike
STR8FXXXINEDGE
What great update, and an awesome wedding! It's also pretty damn cool that Dick Knoebel actually drove them around the park himself. Â Like someone else said some pages back, I think the "Super Epic" contest entries will pick up a bit in the very near future now that all the parks are starting to open up for the season. I still plan on entering for whichever you have going on. Just gotta find the time to get my butt out to take the picture!

After Big Mike saw all the art work, he had some tingles to take care of.  Actually, guess who took full advantage of this sign??? Have you ever seen Rich smile so much????? Ugh! It is time I guess. Sky Tower. Stats. For those who do not know what a SCAD Tower is, they hoist you up top and just drop you into the net, a complete free fall with no wires or anything.  Big Mike is afraid his big ass will go right through the net!! Big Mike is a leader to many, and what would the Valuable Big Mike Readers think if he chickened out? Big Mike got a matching colored helmet to match his jersey. They bring you to the top platform in this little device. Big Mike is all smiles when he reaches the top and is clipped in, no sign of fear anywhere! Big Mike
Geez, we need some more comments so we don't wind up having 3 updates on the same page!!! sspaz1000
Looks like you California trips going to be awesome! Â And that park is totally awesome big mike! I'm not so sure about those scad towers. ahecht
That's so weird with all the rides behind glass. It makes the place look a bit like a zoo. Was that for noise reasons?
cfc
Cobra was the weirdest inverted coaster ever--not as horrible as I'd feared, but bad enough. And hitting that SCAD Tower net on that rainy day was like landing in a swimming pool.
STR8FXXXINEDGE
That's weird that they have all the coasters behind glass walls like that. I've always wanted to experience a SCAD tower, too. I had no idea that when I was at Mt. Olympus in the Dells, that there was one right across the street. I would imagine it would be the most scared I've ever been, but it's gotta be done! Â Also, hooray for 3 points in the Big Mike Most Valuable Reader of the Year Contest!
gisco
Not sure if I could do a Scad Tower. Good Job!
Meteornotes
No way I'd do a Scad tower, or any sort of freefall/jumping out of a plane or whatever. But there were plenty in the group braver than I that tried it that day! Â Yeah, Cobra was odd. It wasn't the worst, but it was pretty bad. Â Is it time to go back to Scandinavia yet?!? Â dt
beatle11
That's weird that they have all the coasters behind glass walls like that. Â I'm guessing it's to control the noise, but I'm not sure. Â Thanks for sharing Big Mike and be careful in Tijuana.
WFChris
Hey Big Mike, what is your plan to get through the busiest border crossing in the world in under two hours? Tell me your secret!!!
Chris Benvenuto
I've done a skycoaster before - but wouldn't have a clue on how to respond doing a SCAD tower. SCAD's look like alot of fun though, I'm going to need to figure out a place that has one and experience it. From the update it looks like great fun and is quite the thrill! RAWKIN_coaster38
^ Same here! My palms are all sweaty just thinking about that SCAD tower! If I came across one, I'd definitely do it, but I know I'd scream like none other! Â Sorry the Super-Epic contest didn't work out. I'd totally do it, but I live 4.5 hours from the nearest park. So it'd be pretty hard for me to get my first entry in, not to mention the other rounds! But next semester I'm planning to live 45 minutes away! It'd be easier then! Â OMG Big Mike is going to be at SFMM, but one day before I might be there! I just found out today that there's the likelihood that ASB at my community college is planning a trip for Sunday the 22nd! One day after Big Mike! D: So close to meeting you, yet so far.
dippindotsguy8
The SCAD tower was probably the most incredible thing I've ever ridden. Nothing compares to that moment when you realize you've been let go of, and there's nothing between you and concrete but the net (which you can't see). Glad you could experience it yourself! I enjoyed the update as always.
