SakuraElizabeth Posted May 14, 2009 Posted May 14, 2009 I work at Kings Island, I'm a ride op at Vortex, and I'll be working that day (the 23rd) from 9-4, so I'll probably see you guys. My name tag says Rebecca, if you see me, say hi! I'll be on the lookout for TPR shirts!
Big Mike Posted May 15, 2009 Author Posted May 15, 2009 I will definately come looking for you Rebecca, I love to get pictures with ALL the TPR girls. Â Â Coney Island in NY Lena would be ideal if I can get there July 4th, as I have the Nathans hot dog eating contest still on my list of things to see one day! Â Â Peace, Big Mike
Lenaapple1974 Posted May 15, 2009 Posted May 15, 2009 Oh bah humbug. I'll be in Fl then, trying to figure out which park will have the best July 4th entertainment. Do you know anything about that? I've seen wishes, I want it to be different. I have to investigate. Anyhow, I expect to see lots of pictures, just not of any hurling. ok?
GriffyTiffy Posted May 15, 2009 Posted May 15, 2009 Hey Big Mike, Will you be going to SFGAM this month? And if so, when? I may be able to finally meet the Big Man!
Big Mike Posted May 15, 2009 Author Posted May 15, 2009 Six Flags Great America will either be Memorial day Monday or the day after Tuesday, depending on how the previous stops went. Â Lena, you cancelled this Saturday already?? Â Â Peace, Big Mike
CreditCrazy Posted May 15, 2009 Posted May 15, 2009 Wow. Looks like anyone above the height requirememnt really can't ride. That is one credit that I am sooo glad to have . Great report as always.
scruffy Posted May 15, 2009 Posted May 15, 2009 Sorry Big Mike looks like could not get off work on Saturday to meet you at Kings Island.
Big Mike Posted May 16, 2009 Author Posted May 16, 2009 Hey there my good friends!!!!  Its time once again to move on to another park during The Big Mike Road Show 2009 Las Vegasathon!!!  The next park is actually just a coaster located in the Sahara Hotel and Nascar Cafe called Speed!   Here is the GPS info:  2535 Las Vegas Blvd South Las Vegas, Nevada 89109  The telephone number is: 702-734-7223  The website is: http://www.nascarcafelasvegas.com  There is 1 coaster and adults are allowed to ride.   As a special bonus on this trip report, there has been a request to see some more animal pictures on The Big Mike Road Show 2009!  Always attempting to please everybody, Big Mike was chatting with two TPR hotties within the last week and both of them love animal and did not know that Big Mike is a huge animal lover also!!  Looking back on the last year of the Big Mike Road Show, there has been a huge turnout and following of very Valuable "female" Big Mike Readers!!!  This is a trend that I LOVE and want to keep going in the same direction  So this report will include the San Diego Wild Animal Park also, and watch out for a "Big Mike Back Then" segment on Discovery Cove coming soon too!  Hope you enjoy!   Peace, Big Mike Thats a wrap from the San Diego Wild Animal Park, Big Mike's 1st ever trip there.  Hope everyone enjoyed, especially the hotties!!!   Peace, Big Mike Awwwwww. Just to make sure that Big Mike scored even more brownie points with the TPR Hotties, a few pictures of the brand new baby cheetah should do the trick. The gorilla just fell down in histerics and I knew my job here was done for the day. I called him over because I wanted to cheer him up and make him laugh, but how?  Then it hit me!  I told him how mad and irate the tiger was at the carousel when I picked the gorilla to ride over him! On the way out I passed the gorilla exhibit and saw that this gorilla seemed to be having a bad day. At the end of the ride, they station a lion there to say goodbye. Long horns. Rhino. Now they try to play it cool and pretend that they dont know each other. Yeah thats right, I caught you. I caught these two giraffes getting kinky  Look at the front giraffes expression when he found out I was looking. This tiger wants me to play rub my belly like Lucky Dog does! Lets go see what we can find! It is a ride through the vast wilderness. Time to go on the "Journey into Africa" tour. The balloon goes pretty high and you get a great view of the savanna. Just to make the fellows over at the TPR park index happy, here is a hot air balloon ride at the park.  Only $20??? I should have gotton married in this hot air balloon and saved tons of cash instead of going to Vegas! Group photo! If I could read his mind, he would be saying "Go buy more nectar you cheapskate!" Another Big Mike top pick of things to do is feeding the Lorikeets!!! Coming soon - a zip line ride! Big Mike better show another ride to keep the mods off his back, so here is a 4-D ride at the park. ... yep! Another ham for the camera. Petting areas are also cool to do. Now I need to go find an animal that is as crazy and photo happy as Big Mike is! Lets see if I can find one... Big Mike will never pass an opportunity at parks to feed the ducks if available. Big Mike Fact - The 1st word out of Big Mike's mouth when he was a baby was the word "duck". Well "dkkkk", but you get the idea. I saw more cactus here than my trip through the desert to Vegas! Do you ever get the feeling that someone is watching you? The first present my ex wife ever gave me was a stuffed Beanie Baby elephant! Yes I still have it Big Mike has a tender side too ladies. Time to go see the brand new baby elephant, as Big Mike knew that this would really please lots of TPR Hotties! This tiger was really pissed that I did not pick him and turned and bit me on my way out. A gorilla!!!  Big Mike kind of noticed a slight resemblance.  I was taught last year by Scott's (Beemerboy) beautiful wife Shannon that each one I ride needs a name, so this is Brutus! Big Mike rides since it is included anyway.  There was a big commotion between all the animals as they all wanted to be the one to let the legendary Big Mike ride them.  What kind of animal did Big Mike ride??? The carousel has all different animals to ride. We will start with the Conservation Carousel since it is a ride, and by putting this in the report, I can get away with putting all the rest of the nature stuff also! Big Mike always knows how to bend the rules! Tours. Options. The prices, which include the carousel and tour. San Diego Wild Animal Park!  So again, I was chatting with a TPR Hottie and we were trying to make plans come October for some animal excursions and she did not realize that Big Mike also loved wildlife!  Big Mike hits all the zoos and animal places also, but usually just posts coaster stuff.  Big Mike figured out that there is a big demand and target market out there for nature stuff too during The Big Mike Road Show!  Since the target market seems to consist of TPR Hotties, Big Mike definately wants to please them too. Thanks to Shawn for being my riding partner and getting us in for half price!!! You then do the whole course again backwards. Here is the incline compared to the Stratosphere.  What goes up must come down though. When you are at top speed, you get sent up this straight incline. The coaster reaches speeds that rip the banners right off the building when the coaster passes. When you exit the loop, you hit this accelleration pad and really take off! The loop. You come out of the tunnel and right into a loop. A quick turn and then right down into a tunnel. I will now show you the course once you get shot out of the launch pad. First, you exit the building to go outside. The launch pad. The train. The prices.  Big Mike Money Saving Tip - If you go with someone who lives in Las Vegas, they can purchase tickets at half price!! Thanks Shawn! Inside the Nascar Cafe is the roller coaster.... Speed the Ride! The next stop on The Big Mike Road Show 2009 was the Sahara Hotel in Las Vegas Nevada, and inside of the hotel is the Nascar Cafe!
Calicoasters Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 Great Update Big Mike! Speed looks like such a cool coaster. I'm looking forward to riding it someday! Â I can't believe you went to the Wild Animal Park without Telling me! The two things I love about parks are coasters and animals! I would have loved to join you at the Wild Animal Park. I live about 5 miles from the park! Maybe next time, now they have a Zip Line at the park!
atem122 Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 Haha I was at the Red Bull Air Race last week and saw a ton of commercials for the zipline. Makes me wanna take my first trip to the Wild Animal Park. Great layout pictures of speed too, looks like a blast (horrible pun intended).
ebl Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 In all my years in Southern California, I have yet to visit the San Diego Wild Animal Park. It just never had much of a draw for me, I guess. Â Glad you enjoyed it, though. Â Eric
Six Flags Enthuseast Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 "Big Mike kind of noticed a slight resemblance." - Big Mike   Wow.........Hmm......... Meh, not really.
DisWiz Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 To get the discount at Speed: The Ride, do you actually have to have a local person there with you? Or can they purchase the ticket? I'm interested as I'll be passing through Vegas hopefully soon on my way down to California.
Big Mike Posted May 16, 2009 Author Posted May 16, 2009 They check your drivers license to make sure your local to get that discount. Â So Shawn bought two, one for me. Â Â Peace, Big Mike
Pirouettes907 Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 Well Big Mike, you sure know what you're doing because what can I say, I'm a sucker for adorable animals; what a great report, especially your story about winning over that gorilla! Sure, Speed the Ride is one thing, but there's nothing like seeing a baby cheetah or a baby elephant to brighten my day. I would definitely like to see more segments like this. Â Oh, and for the record, my first word was "fish," although I'm sure it came out "fiss." Fun to know there's someone else in the "my first word was an animal, not "mommy" or "daddy" " group!
packfanlv Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 Big Mike I just got back from out of town and caught up on this thread. I am enjoying the Las Vegasthon! It is great to relive that magical day where you taught me the ways of Big Mikeness!!! Â Thanks for stopping me from selling my body to ride Miner Mike. I don't know what I was thinking!
X2coasterfreak Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 That is so coll that you went to the Wild Animal Park! You were close to my home town of Ramona, that is so cool
ElToroGirl84 Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 Loved the latest report Big Mike, Wild Animal Park is definately on my list of places to visit now! The baby cheetah was so cute!
rcroques Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 Well Big Mike, you sure know what you're doing because what can I say, I'm a sucker for adorable animals; what a great report, especially your story about winning over that gorilla! Fun to know there's someone else in the "my first word was an animal, not "mommy" or "daddy" " group!  My first word was "Coke".  Apparently, I was thirsty and my dad had a Coke so I wanted some of it.  Sincerely, R.C.
Big Mike Posted May 18, 2009 Author Posted May 18, 2009 Dear Valuable Big Mike Readers, Â The Las Vegasathon special has been temporarily put on hold since Big Mike's laptop has crashed! Â Please enjoy some of the other entertaining Theme Park Review threads until we fix the problem. Â Big Mike will continue to use his Blackberry to check the thread to see if anyone is going to hang out with The Big Mike Road Show this weekend in Ohio, Illinios, Kentucky, and Indiana! Â Peace, Big Mike

Emiroo Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 FYI - Â When the BMRS pulls into Holiday World, don't forget the canned goods for the Food Drive. Each person will get $5 in Holibucks. That's free lunch right there!
Big Mike Posted May 18, 2009 Author Posted May 18, 2009 Very nice! Â Thanks for the info, I like free lunch. Â Peace, Big Mike
