If it sounds like a success, I'll head down a week or two after. Edit- The site says Shredder, Shellraiser, and Nickelodeon Skyline Scream will be open on the 25th. I still find it amazing that they don't have a legit website for the park set up as of yet. "Over 35 rides" -- yeah, but what are they? And what are the height requirements for said rides? With one of my kids clocking in at 44", until I can find that out, I'm a little hesitant to pull the trigger on any tickets for the place. More than likely I won't even be in town on opening weekend so it's kind of a moot point, but if my plans for that weekend look like they're going to get rained out, I might pop over with the family and check it out. As for what rides will be open, I have no clue. I wouldn’t take anything that they posted as gospel though. Maybe the entire park will be open but since we don’t know much of anything about what’s even there it’s hard to make any real guesses on that. coasterbill Posted October 17, 2019 Share Posted October 17, 2019 It's $39 for a Casino Pier 2 hour time slot that doesn't include Go-Karts, Sky Ride, Skyscraper, SkyCoaster and that place sucks. Brit and I paid $21 (for both of us) to ride a log flume once at Morey's. I think Gale Force is like $15 for one ride. It's a Jersey tourist trap just like those places. It's going to be expensive. I really don't know what people were expecting. There may be deals for those places but there probably will be for this place too as time goes on. I agree the lack of Log Chute is a bummer, but if this park has the same type of appearance as MOA's and better coasters, it should be a great park. I think this whole thing needs more tourist support than local support to keep it open but I'm not sure how many people are going to use part of their NYC vacation to get on NJ transit to get there. It's definitely going to be interesting to follow. I'll probably make it out to theme park and water park whenever that opens at some point but I really don't have any interest in anything else at the place. Everyone in this region has been mocking this disaster of a project for the better part of two decades and it's a hard habit to break but I honestly expect it to be massively successful. The new hotness factor does carry a premium. They should charge higher to start out because there will be high demand in the beginning and higher prices will stop the place from being overrun and have a bunch of complainers online. As far as the lack of promotion at this point, it is possible that American Dream is dropping the ball on this and not the theme park people. Either way someone is dropping the ball. The park alone isn't the only attraction, so the prices have to compensate for that. You're not going to see Disney packed midways of people spending money in droves. Although, I'll say that I'm new to this thread. Is the park financially independent of the mall? I suppose that would make somewhat of a difference. Compared to most amusement parks, the cost to park is quite reasonable. I see people who go to shop being angrier with this than theme park enthusiasts. It's also good they will validate the parking on Event Day if you purchase a Nickelodeon Universe ticket. It also looks like opening day is completely sold out. coasterbill Posted October 21, 2019 Share Posted October 21, 2019 I'll happily pay it to go to the amusement park, water park or ski slope but why would anyone go to this mall to shop when they could just go to Garden State Plaza, Bergen Outlets, Paramus Park or any of the other nearby malls where parking is free? I don't care and it's not my problem but I see them expanding this parking validation policy pretty quickly. I grew up in Monmouth County and had 5 malls within 10 minutes of my front door. The shopping portion doesn't exist out of a necessity for shopping options but simply to fit in. coasterbill Posted October 23, 2019 Share Posted October 23, 2019 (edited) Can we just take a second to appreciate that a brand new theme park is opening in 2 days and has: - No website - No social media presence - No listing of rides that they have - No listing of the height requirements for the rides, so if a family buys tickets for $50 each for 4 hours they don't even know what they can ride for that $50 (not that they know what rides the park has anyway). I'm rooting for this place but it feels very rushed despite being a 17-year-long project. The only information that we have is from the mall's website and social media pages (which have almost no information) or theme park fan sites. Friday should be interesting.
