DBru
Over the off season, what parks are having work being done on their coasters to make for a better experience? This could involve re-tracking, new trains, ect. All I can think of is Morey's getting new trains/restraints for the SLC...
SFjunkie2010
Boulder Dash at Lake Compounce is getting the old trains from wild cat at Hershey park, and getting the track worked on.
RIP Psyclone
Giant Dipper at Belmont Park in San Diego, CA, but I believe it's pretty much a year-round coaster. It just had to be done sometime.
SeaWhippet
GCII has rebuilt the back turn (backwards side) of Carowinds' Thunder Road (from the footers to the hand rails). In addition to the Bolder Dash re-track, GCII is also doing a LOT of work on Cheetah at Wild Adventures. Look for wood replacing the steel at several high-G pull-out sections. Hopefully, this will make for a less-punishing ride. -S
spaceace12
Legend got retracked in areas. I would think Voyage would have also.
Jim S.
Phoenix and Twister are both getting some track replaced. Neither of them were particularly bad last season (Phoenix is never bad, and Twister had had some track work the previous winter), but Knoebels likes to stay ahead. steel
Timber Wolf should be continuing its rehab.
St.LouisBOI
The Boss and Screamin' Eagle are both getting extensive retracking in parts of the rides at SFSTL. Also, parts from Mega Zeph's cars from SFNO are being added to replace old parts on the current cars.
spaceace12
Boss needed it, Eagle, not so much, but any love for Eagle is good in my book.
Carnage
I would think Voyage would have also. Probably re tracking the 3/4 of original track left.
sfotkid
Shockwave is getting a total retrack at SFOT.
cprocks22
Legend got retracked in areas. YAY! Legend could have been a top 15 ride for me last season, but it just felt really rough in some spots. This is great news. Kevin "Holiday World fanboy in training "M. DBru
Yes, I've been praying for the Legend to have some track-work done...
downunder
I wish they would do some track work on Mean Streak, preferably with a blow torch.
XanderLee
Shockwave is getting a total retrack at SFOT. Actually its only like a 500 foot section this year. Maybe less. Far from a total retrack. Texas Giant is getting it's usual track work. I have seen work on the first turn after the drop...not sure if anywhere else has gotten any love. eBen
Blackpool Pleasure Beach is doing up 3 rides: The Big One - Replacing track (same layout) Wild Mouse - Structural work Roller Coaster - Trains from Big Dipper (possibly)
texcoaster
Roller Coaster - Trains from Big Dipper (possibly) NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!! The ONLY redeeming thing about RollerCoaster is the complete lack of restraints on the trains. They're really unique, funky trains, too. If they put BD's trains on it, I hope they at least remove the lap bars first.
cfc
^Rollercoaster at Blackpool has had seatbelts for a few years, as I recall.
DBru
I'm surprised no one has said anything about X2...
carolinacaniac
I think it's because X2 isn't getting track work from what I understand, it is getting new trains and a paint job, but the track itself is going to be the same (other than a new color scheme)
cfc
^That's correct. At the tour a few weeks ago, we were told that the track wasn't the problem with X--it was the trains.
matteocrepaldi
Mirabilandia is getting some work done on Katun both on the track and on the trains.
