jamesdillaman
I couldn't think of a better company to build the first wooden coaster in China. The GCI coasters are the perfect fit for introducing a wood to a new culture. They provide thrilling rides while remaining incredibly smooth. Gravity Group rides would probably be too intense for them to start off with. best post of the thread award! -James Dillaman
thecoasterkid
Ummmmm...Can we delete that and pretend it never happened? Please? I can't even fake sarcasm on that one, it was just a pure screw up. I took one too many pucks to the head apparently. Hahaha.

restoca
I love watching construction of wooden coasters. Dido! Wooden coasters are so much more than.. bolt support, position track, bolt track. BORING! Dido? White flag? Thank you? Here With Me? BORING....? MixedDrink
Dido? White flag? Thank you? Here With Me? BORING....? Dido = I agree Wooden coasters are more than bolt support, position track, bolt track which is how steel coasters are built. Which, I must say is boring. Which, I must say is boring. Dido=annoying musical artist. Ditto=used to indicate that something already said is applicable a second time. This thing looks solid. That first drop almost reminds me of a Falken-esque design, though the renderings don't show any indication of the final product looking like that. I used to not like trying to follow the structure of wooden supports, because I'd tend to get lost and confused in the mazes of beams. Watching projects on here are alleviating that, though I still prefer standing at a distance and taking in the structure as a whole. They are quite amazing. That's the only thing SoB is good at. MixedDrink
Dido=annoying musical artist. Ditto=used to indicate that something already said is applicable a second Oh, haha, I'm sorry! I just realized that. I used to not like trying to follow the structure of wooden supports, because I'd tend to get lost and confused in the mazes of beams. Ditto, putting THAT to good use! It boggles my mind.

packfanlv
I think this coaster looks awesome. While I didn't love their park in Beijing, I will agree that this company is building some great rides and along with Chimelong Paradise is taking the Chinese Theme Park to a whole other level. Shanghai is soon going to be a destination for enthusiasts with Happy Valley and the long rumored (but never announced) Shanghai Disneyland. For now all the people have is the fake version of It's A Small World and some interesting cultural credits!
robbalvey
Some new photos in from China today...check it out.... And a quick look over some other buildings getting worked on. Staging area for new peices ready to go up. That will eventually be a mess of wood track! Brake run and station. And another! Oooh...now THAT is the money shot! Watch out for that steel beam! First drop sexiness! Looks like quite a bit of work done in just the past week or so! Very pretty!
angryemobeaver
Awesome! I wander if Fireball will feature the new Timberliners? Happy Valley really needs to make a park in America *Indianapolis*.

angryemobeaver
^ I think someone already mentioned a few pages back that this ride was getting PTC trains. --Robb Oh, that sucks. PTC trains aren't bad or anything, id' just like to see Timberliner trains on a coaster.
figment1986
I'm loving this layout and everything I saw a video of it at IAAPA when I spoke with M&V, and it looks like a fun attraction.
coastercrazed49
Really looking awesome! ^ I think someone already mentioned a few pages back that this ride was getting PTC trains. coolhandluke
Darn, I was really hoping to see the GCI trains be put on a woody finally. I don't think you meant that . But yeah, as much as I'd like to see these Timberliners in action, me being the selfish person I am wants them to come on a coaster built closer to home. But this looks like a winner. As long as it doesn't rip itself apart, of course.

thrillgeek
Looks great so far. Now I'm not hating on the trains at all but...All I got to say is I hope they have great maintenance on this coaster. Otherwise the track will be shredded in a matter of years. Thelegendarymatthew
Is the coaster on a lake? Thats very interesting, I like it when coasters are like that. -Matthew.K
robbalvey
Darn, I was really hoping to see the GCI trains be put on a woody finally. GCI trains are already on a number of woodies, but they only run on GCI coasters. You wouldn't see a GCI train on a Gravity Group coaster. --Robb
HighExtreme
Wow! Thanks for the photos, construction is coming along nicely this ride looks like its shaping up to be a fantastic coaster The OCT parks have interesting themeing, while they may rely on the manufacturer production model coasters, they've done well to open so many parks in a relatively modest period of time Now they've established the chain, hopefully Fireball will be successful and encourage the company to invest in more custom designed coasters in the future
